Official Virtua Fighter 5 Thread

(Zenton\Kouten = half circle motion forward\back with punch) and then inputting a dragon punch with P+K right? I knew that in VF short cuts for moves do not really work (from my understanding), so I resisted doing the FWD+ Fireball motion for the move. When I did the F,D,DF P+K from standing, Kage would do a dragon punch-esque move. I assumed that this is what would happen after the Zenten or Kouten but even when the move came out after that, the Command List did not budge to the next move, so I must of been doing something wrong. What move is supposed to result out of that? What was I doing wrong?

I think you've just got to do it faster, before Zenton/Kouten finishes, then he'll cancel it and do the dragon punch.

Srider, I don't know if you read the 1up Show thread, but thanks for all your impressions and appearances on this game...got me so hyped and informed.

Same here. I watched the 1up Show solely for the VF5 stuff...was disappointed there was no tournament, but that segment made up for it. :)

Thanks guys. Really we all wanted to give people a different look at the game and help people understand why people play VF. I wish I could go on about it, but it's really meant to be experienced firsthand.

For all of you guys that are new to the game, I've been working on a little something for you all. Should be interesting and I'd love to know what you guys think when it goes online Feb. 20th.

for those of you who've spent time with the arcade VF5 in Japan, how does the PS3 version compare?

I don't trust U.S. or U.K. website reviews on these matters :)

In what ways do you mean? Graphics, game play, modes available...what?

just to help clear it up, can someone who owns these sticks test and confirm this?

I need some help from HRAP3 owners and/or VSHG owners.

Can someone who owns a HRAP3 and PS3 test out a PS2 fighter in BC on their PS3 and see if it works?

Can someone who owns a VSHG and PS3 test out a PS2 fighter in BC on their PS3 and see if it works?

I would appreciate it allot :D

All the High Grade sticks were recalled due to unresponsive buttons. Hopefully they get them out soon though...

Awful, just awful. As much as I want to go out and get that Hori stick for VF5 right now, I also want to use it with the likes of KOF XI, NGBC, SS Tenka, SF3, Real Bout (this week), and Hokuto No Ken when that comes out.

What happens when you use the Hori stick on a PC? Does it work?

I heard the X360 DoA4 stick worked on the PC if you get unofficial drivers.

Never tried it myself though...

Someone on vfdc said it's possible to get the Virtua Stick High Grade to work with MAME on PC. I'm going to make a guess that RAP3 probably works as well with PC.

Yeah, I know about that, but I don't want to buy the 360 stick since I'd only be able to use it with DOA4 and SF2 Turbo, and I can play those with the pad with no problems...

You have to admit that on some of the pictures, like the one below, they look almost as if someone photographed plastic action figures.
Sure, I'll accept that. They do look like plastic action figures. That's not really what I'd define as photo-realistic characters though.

If I take a photo of two white blocks and a cube, it looks exactly like Pong, but I don't claim that Pong looks photo-real.

Don't get me wrong, VF5 is a great looking game. I was just saying that "photo-real" may be an overstatement.

I miss the fact that the different modes of single player that were added in ver.B in the arcade didn't make it into the PS3 version. And granted I never spent too much time messing around with VF.net, it would have been nice to see some of those features make it into the console version as well.

But we have Quest mode, so it's all good.

I dont know if there is such a thing already out :

It says that Bigben is going to launch the "convertpad". With this accessorie. U connect this through the usb, and u can connect a playstation 2 controller (it says DS2 but i guess it can be any other controller or arcade stick).
There will be 4 red led on the convertpad like the original ps3 controller. It also have a "PS" button" to get everything that a ps3 controller can do. (15buks)

Which 1p modes are missing m8?

Thanks to this accessory that connects to one of the USB ports of the console, you can connect you PS2 controller (Dual Shock 2) and use it on the PS3.
The 4 red luminous red diodes placed on this device will automaticly select an available channel.
At last, this device will boast a PS BUTTON (abscent from classic PS2 controllers) to access the functionalities of the PS3.
Suggested price: 14, 99

I would be more then happy if you could get a hold of two of them for me.

I doesn't matter how much it costs to send it from Europe to Canada, I would pay for the shipping + I would give you a bonus tip for the good deed:D

No need for any tip, i was in the same situation 2 weeks ago, with RR7 @30$ at play asia and no shipping to europe. THen a great gaffer in canada ordered it for me and sent it back to france.
I would be glad to do the same. Just PM me one week before the release here to tell me if its available anywhere else , if its not ill send to you

Quoted for the next page; Reno let us know if the glitch was fixed. :D

It's fixed. The game puts a "polygon weight" on each item you equip. You only have a max of 10 and some items take up 2/3. So you can't equip five 3 weight items because it'd cause slowdown.

Very nice! I wrote in that thread that I think AM2 would fix it for the home port, and I'm glad they did. :)

That limit was also in the arcade version, in fact it's the same limit... 10 points :P Didn't stop the game from slowing down :P But from what I've seen it's fixed, but I can't say 100% for sure it's fixed. I would assume it is since it's a rather large bug and it should be easily fixed.

what mode do i start in vf 4 evo to practice the game in anyone know not new to the game but wanna know the basics and such
Errm, I don't quite remember, but just go through the basic tutorial, which should be the first selection.

Where did you hear that? I haven't seen anyone write anything about it yet.

It was announced at AOU, but there are no details on what the update will have. I read it on some Japanese game site, but I forgot the URL :p Someone should have it though... I hope!

Did anyone ever figure out how to record a replay?

I'd like to save some of the awesome matches I occasionaly have with friends but holding select or start doesn't seem to do it. I have no idea how to save my replay :\

The save replay option is in the window with" fight again, change stage, character select.." after the vs fight is over. I don't know about saving quest or arcade matches.
