For those of you confused, "Moral" has a specific meaning in this situation.

In Virtua Fighter, there are two classifications of players. "Moral" describes players who use a highly technical style; they play based on knowledge of techniques and frame data, and try to do the "best" possible maneuvers in any given situation.

"Abare" is the other style of play. An "Abare" player takes much higher risks by trying to counter their opponent's specific style rather than doing the best possible maneuver.

While "Abare" style play is much risker than "Moral" play in theory, the "Abare" players will often topple the "Moral" players due to the Abare players' unorthodox style.

So, "Keep it MORAL" just means "Keep it technical" or "Play by the book". A good play on words, since the guide is supposed to be teaching you how to play the game on a technical level.

I guess my style of play is Ebare then

It's actually "Abare". It comes from the Japanese verb "Abareru", which means to act violently or rage, cause a riot.

I'm also "Abare" :)

Man, I don't think I can wait, it's just too nice. I think I'll order it in a week or so. How much does it cost to import it again? :x

I haven't quite been keeping up with the stick prices. Theres like 3 of them and I'm not quite sure on which to get. At this point, as much as I love the sixaxis, I'll take anything over a regular controller for that "real" arcade feel. :)

Here's a review of the Fighting Stick 3 which you can actually find in the US. I got it at EB for $60, but Hori's site lists MSRP as $50.

yeah, I bought it for $60 also at EB while other sites list it for $50, but I just consider it like the extra $10 would have been shipping and I wouldent have gotten it right away. I bought the HFS3 pretty much for friends to mainly use since they wouldent care if the stick is high quality or not, im gonna get the VSHG later on.

still, im pissed that the HRAP3 works on PC but the HFS3 doesnt seem to work on PC.

Where did you get this from?

You can probably find it online at Play-Asia or Yes-Asia. If worse comes to worse I'm willing to purchase some books for GAF Members (sorry Junior members, this deal doesn't extend to you guys :P). Keep in mind that the most important stuff are the strategies and the frames... however, the frames are already online at www.virtuafighter.com and the strategies are all in Japanese, so if you're not fluent in Japanese you're going to have a difficult time understanding anything.

People complain about online because there should've been something there. As someone posted earlier in the thread, no online play is something that's acceptable, but having no online features is just lame. Ghost AI, downloadable image galleries, downloadable match replays (I know the disc has a ton, but I want more!) or even online rankings or character sharing would've been enough. Shit, even Tekken 5 DR has downloadable stuff content, and that cost $20!

8.1 from gamespot here

Funny how so many people complain about online, when a game like this would be hard to react because of lag.

when Tekken 6 is revealed to have no online play either, watch Gertsmann give T6 a 9.6 even if it doesn't have Online

Thanks. Is the Hori going to be available @ EB? And what happened to the recalled VF sticks?

and yeah, I also got that VF3 message. :lol

Guys dont confuse the Hori Pro 3 with the fighting stick please :(

Pictures I took is of the Hori Pro 3 which is twice the price and much better quality, basically the same as an arcade stick, the fighting stick is basically the same as the old SC2/VF4 evo sticks and much more platic and cheap feel (I own both of them and believe me its like going from a 3wheel robin reliant to a ferrari)

I got the Hori Pro3 from Play Asia (took just 40odd hours to arrive at my home in UK) and it was about £65 with postage I think (didnt pay import). The Moral book I got off a bloke in japan of ebay, if anyone wants it please send me a pm and I will forward you his ebay id (or if Im ok to post his details on here let me know :) ) .

Anyone notice an overscan problem?

the "Press Start" and some of the bars on the sides of the screen are half cut off, and the game won't let me adjust the X/Y size or position.

What do I do?

ill have this game in about an hour...

Im running via HDMI on a 40" Samsung 1080P LCD - ill post back about wether or not I have the overscan problem.

i got it at FS
EB games are too slow, so I will have to cancel my pre-order.

Futureshop has it at 10 dollar off and had it in (South Shore of Montreal)

not Marché Central and Anjou (montreal area) are reported to have it in.

Downtown sucks, downtown doesnt have it yet :P

omg its so good

I'm having a problem doing the side shuffle with Jacky with the Sixaxis (waiting for sticks). It's L2 to do P+K+G but when I press up with L2...like nothing happens. I can do it, but by chance.

Any help?

My buddy who uses the Sixaxis has the same problems with Lei Fei using the L2/R2 buttons. 3/4th of the time the P+K+G move doesn't come out despite the button being mapped as P+K+G.

You might want to remap to L1/R1 or use a PS2 controller through a USB adapter if you have one. The triggers don't seeem to work well with VF5.

OT: I am an Arcade Stick noob and have a question rearding the HORI sticks. Will these sticks work with future PS3 arcade ports (eg. Virtua tennis 3)? Sorry, if the answer is obvious and the question stupid :)
