I've only seen it when people control the players on the edges. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Yeah, it's just timing. And since the edge player is off the ball there is even a ton of leeway in terms of offsides. If you time it right (and there is a nice window there, not some crazy perfect skill thing) it's blocked every time just like good ol' 2001 (I think it was 2001).

The other part of it is the clock. The clock stops when you use your field goal meter giving you a better indication of when the person is about to kick.

Did your game freeze or I just d/c?
You disconnected. Henne went back to pass and I creamed him in the endzone for a safety. The end of the play didn't register and kept it with the prior score.

I'm actually for people not doing this. I think I did it to Crow actually and almost stole a win, but ended up fucking it up for myself in typical fashion. I actually haven't won a game against anybody in the 2012 version who are in the leagues...until today. I haven't lost against Wellington either which is an oddity. He now is experiencing similar Bengal-like pains like I did last season though.

Yeah, if that happened happened in the league and I lost by 1 point I would've been pissed. I was even afraid of going for a field goal, I felt that I had to score a touchdown instead of just running the clock down.

Darren McFadden HB OAK Increase, from 87 to 88OVR
Richard Seymour DL OAK Increase, from 93 to 95OVR
Oakland Raiders TEAM OAK Increase, from 74 to 75OVR

HOLD THE LEAGUE!! That's a huge increase for Giordano. SeBass finally gets his 90. McFadden closer to what should be his rating...

We can't hold the league...OF roster 2 might hit by Nov. So enjoy the upgrades in community, where real life lives

In other news. The Atlanta Falcons have made two moves today and working on a third.

- ATL trades OLB Mike Peterson to the Texans for a conditional draft pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

- ATL trades a third round pick in the 2012 draft to the Niners for OL Adam Snyder

- The Browns are in the final stages of a deal with the Falcons that should be finalized by tomorrow afternoon. The frame work is set.

"We are proud to add Mike Peterson to our strong LB core. He will join Brian Cushing, Demeco Ryans, and Mario Williams in helping our team improve our defense from the 2010 campaign. Connor Barwin is still with the team and will serve as Peterson's backup"

Here we go.

I gotta look at upcoming free agents. Have lots of cap space to make some big splashes in the off season.

say what, i love jj!

jj is a beast, but he's not part of the LB core that's why he's not mentioned in the press release

Success!

All right guys, we all owe a big thanks to Rich "TheOzmiester" Bayes, who is the Tech Guru and co-commish of www.theogml.com, for pouring over the 1400 players in Madden 12 Online franchise's updated rosters and correcting all of the salaries to ensure each team is realistically represented in leagueManager. The details of his update are as follows:

Updated Year Length of Contracts
Updated Realistic Year by Year Breakdown for Players based on Real Contract Data
Every Team Under the 120mil 2011 NFL Salary Cap
Limitations means we can not implement dead weight teams owe from previous years so contract data is slightly different then it is in real life, but is as close to realistic as we can get over 1200 of the salaries are 100% Accurate to real life, with 200ish using guestimation work and resources as they were undisclosed.

These Salaries are valid up to the 14th of Sept. Any transaction after that date are no included in the update.

In order to apply this updated salary information for those of you on the most recent updated roster, head over to the admin console and click the "Assign NFL-Style Contracts" to update all players and teams in your league. Note that any updates you made on your own will be wiped out if you choose to take advantage of Rich's work.

To check out Rich and his Madden community, head over to www.theogml.com. They are obviously a very dedicated league and they run PS3 Leagues and Tournaments for Madden 12. They have a Salary Cap League and a Fantasy League at the moment and have plans to continue to grow.

On behalf of the whole leagueManager, major props Rich!
This was just posted in the past hour or so.

guys, leave the FA's alone until live bidding is up.... not that anyone has touched them, just saying!

also, the salaries are updated and a bit more accurate. i now have about 4 mil in cap space.... so be sure to check yours!

p.s. regarding the "trade whoever", don't make me regret it or put restrictions on it! i'm tired of having to baby sit that stuff so just don't go wild!

Finally joined LM, $21 MM under the cap.... delicious.

How are we handling the cap right now? Are teams expected to make cuts before playing their first game or are we waiting until the end of the season? Since it's wide open now do we just sign FAs?

Lastly, I am looking for a C/G or a DT. Let's talk turkey whoever has one to offer.

Still curious how things like re-signing your own gets - is it first bids, or is it a bid system.

We should start a transactions or trade talk thread. :p

BTW, make sure you guys read up on how the salary cap in the NFL works, particularly the Cap Penalty for those guys looking to trade/release players right away.

There are drawbacks to signing bonuses for the owner, however. Because the bonus is guaranteed to the player, if the player is released, traded or waived, all of the bonus money that was being prorated throughout the length of the contract is accelerated to the present year. So, if our team released its star player after the third year of his contract (before June 1) for whatever reason, the entire remainder of the bonus, almost $6.3-million, will have to count toward the cap the next year (if the team releases the player after June 1, only the yearly $1.57-million will count the next year, and the remainder will count the subsequent year).

And it's included in LM, thankfully:

http://myleaguemanager.net/forum/index.cfm?id=1&boardid=5&threadid=423

Just a quick question...

1) - Are there cap penalties built into League Manager?

ie - if I cut a player, do I have to pay him a portion of his ramaining salary???

2) - If there are cap penalties... But someone releases a player in the game instead of in LM, will LM automattically calculate the Cap Penalty?

Thanks

-Cg

Yes there are cap penalties. When you cut a player you pay him the remaining bonus owed for the life of the contract.

Yes the cap penalties will work even if a player is cut through the console, it will show up on the next roster sync

Much to my surprise, one of our old friends was on there!

What's the info for your dummy league? I'd like to join to fuck around with stuff. I'll pm you some questions in a few.
