I tried to play AH and shit I'm glad I downloaded the demo first. I was just assuming yall were being wimps with how lame the game can get, but damn. The shots blend into everything way too much and little or no firing animation = ick. Oh and the last boss where the screen scrolls while badguys spawn below? And it starts scrolling before you can even see that the bad dudes are spawning? That's just awesome! Oh and the bosses were painfully boring and tedious, but I'm willing to chalk that up to the demo.

Basically everything I feared about CC from that first video, but in a sidescroller! Doesn't give me good hopes for CC.

Castlevania next week, yes? Someone confirm :)

A friend made a bet with me that there will be no XBLA game next week, lol

That's what I've been hearing; Castlevania next week, and TMNT on the 21st. If true, that's three super sweet weeks in a row!

Wait, I just realized that TMNT will be on XBLA.

I haven't purchased a single XBLA game yet, but I might just have to now.

I might pick up Worms and SotN potentially as well.

Bloody TMNT. This will be coop bliss.

What other good XBLA coop games are there? Online is fine, but splitscreen is a must.

How long has the Luxor 2 page been up at Xbox.com?

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/l/luxor2xboxlivearcade/default.htm

That was one of the next 10 games, IIRC, and the only page for a game that isn't out yet. Alien Homonid's page went up early the week it came out.
AH's page went up two weeks before it eventually came out (and was actually taken down for a while in that time period), so I don't really think that's a definite confirmation on a next-week release, though it's a good indication.

I think the Luxor page has been up for at least a week... so maybe it will be up next Wednesday, maybe not.

Either TMNT or Castlevania would be my preference, though. I am such a SOTN nut, I fully intend to take a frigging day off when it hits just to soak all that Metroidvania goodness in for hours.

I hadn't visited the XBLA page in a couple weeks, so I wasn't sure. Thought it was worth mentioning though since it's the only one not out yet.

TMNT and SotN are insta-purchases for me. Luxor I'd snag for $5.

My mate's girlfriend is madly obsessed with Zuma. She's got almost all the achievements n' everything. She'll go wild for Luxor, I'm sure.

I'm hoping for Minigolf or Eets, not too bothered about Castlevania or TMNT.

I got addicted to Zuma. I can't get past stage 8 though. :-(

I'm picking up both of those as well. My XBLA library could well double in the next few months if they come out in a timely manner.

IF.

Personally, I haven't complained too much about the XBLA issues because I already have enough games to play. I'd like a firm release schedule, but I don't need great games coming out EVERY week - I'd just be in over my head at that point. I haven't even had the time to download Alien Hominid, let alone play it.

Why is automatic downloading not so automatic? I have it set to automatically download every demo, but sometimes it just forgets to do it. I have to do it manually, and then it tells me, "you've already downloaded this, would you like to d/l it again?" and I'm like, "don't tell me what I have and haven't downloaded."

So, it didn't forget to do it after all.

It normally starts download the latest XBLA games around a minute after you've signed in.

Good god man, hush up! Someone from MS might hear you! ;)

Last year's probably was too many Geometry Wars type controlling games.

2007's problem seems to be too many psychadelic music games. I mean did we really need E4 when we've already got BBR and SG coming?

I don't mind these types of music games but they just scream 1993 AMIGA demo to me and I'd just rather they were focussing their efforts on something more substantial, like some new 2d/3d hybrid platformers or something instead

Yes it did forget, and no it doesn't start to d/l a minute after I've signed in. Last night, for instance, I was logged on for a full hour and when I went to check Worms wasn't listed in my current XBLA games, wasn't listed as an active download, and yet when I went to d/l it manually it told me I had already done so. This isn't all the unsual. It's been like this for most of my XBLA d/l's (sometimes I can log on many days in a row and it never d/l's) since they added the feature. It's not a huge ordeal. D/Ling manually doesn't cause me to break a sweat or anything, I'd just like the feature to work as advertised.

For some reason the auto download has worked for me ONE time since the option was available. I always have to manually download the game. It's quite annoying since this a feature option that I expect to work.

That happens because the auto-download starts as soon as you go into the "Download Games" section on XBLA. So the download won't show up before on the active downloads list, but when you go manually download the game, it starts downloading as soon as you enter the "Download Games" section, so by the time you reach the menu to actually download the game it's already beeing downloaded in the background.

Vivendi Games' Sierra Online Games unit will "probably be the leading publisher of Xbox Live Arcade games in 2007," its pres., Ed Zobrist, said at GDC. After launching game Assault Heroes on Arcade in Dec., Sierra hopes this year to launch about 10 games there for Xbox 360 online gamers, he told us. Coming titles include 3D Ultra Mini Golf Adventures this month and Carcassonne, based on the German board game of the same name, "sometime in the 2nd quarter," he said. The company plans to launch Battlestar Galactica, based on the TV series of the same name, in Sept., as the show's new season begins. That will be the first licensed Xbox Live Arcade title he's aware of, Zobrist said. What is "interesting to us," he said, is that casual Arcade titles resemble typical casual online games in that they're low-cost and simple to play, but "game enthusiasts" are playing the Arcade titles, as opposed to traditional casual games, which historically have appealed most to women. Many gamers seem to be gravitating toward the shorter playing sessions characteristic of Arcade and other casual games, he said.

I wasn't sure if it was known that 3D UMGA was due this month so I figured I'd post this

Yup, the feature puts any XBLA game labelled "new" you don't have to active downloads. So instead of having to go to the download section, click new games, click the game and click download trial, you just have to go to download section. What a (10 second) time saving feature!

Sierra is one company I kinda wish they'd release their older catalog instead; but to be honest not much of it is well suited to live other than The Incredible Machine and maybe one or two random other ones they published.

I thought they announced The Incredible Machine for XBLA, or at least a revised version.

Question to ArNe or other MS rep (since for some reason I cannot make a new thread, I will use this channel :) )

I have a question regarding the next dashboard update. I have heard rumours that says MS is going to change their policy about Downloaded Content.

Today, the policy is as following:
- A Donwload Content is available to all users accounts in the original Xbox 360 (I guess it determines by its Serial Number) where the user made the transaction/download.
- The download is also available for the user account in any 360 as long as he is authenticated/logged to Live.

Althought it seems a resoanable policy, there were in the past a lot of complaining about users who changed its console (due to mal-functioning, refublished console by MS, or anything else) that no longer is able to access their contents (arcade games revert to demo mode, expansions are not available) unless they are logged to Live.

I am worried about the current policy since I have US$ 100+ in content in my day-1 Xbox 360 (actually manufactured in 12-oct-2005 and already gave some 3RLs problems) and I am planning to buy even more stuff. However if something may wrong with my console or I decide to get a new model I may loose access to all of my content unless logged in Live. In years to come I cannot guarantee that I will have access to Live or even if MS will still support it.

Some users with new consoles reported that complaining to MS support service they got MS points to buy back everything they previously onwed. However this method does not seem feasible in larger scale (and besides I am out of USA), so the rumours has that MS is implementing some changes.

Is that true? They will change the policy or allow you to transfer the rights from one console to another?

Thanks a lot!

a) there's a whole thread about the spring dashboard update discussion/wishlist/thoughts, so you should probably take it there anyway: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145879

b) what is in the spring dashboard update is unknown currently anyway.

Maybe I don't understand your question but your downloads are attached to your gamertag as well, when my 360 died I just kept my storage device and thus kept all my owned games. plugging my HD onto the new replacement had no bad side effects at all, none of my games reverted back to demos.

I think if you keep your storage device you should have no problems at all.

That was fast, thanks.

However independently of what is included in the next updates, I still would like to know if MS is aware of the problem and discussing solutions.

That is what I was saying: the content in attached to both your console S.N (all users on the original console may use it offline) and to your gamertag (which can use it in any console as long you are logged to Live).

It is NOT attached to your storage device (HDD) in any way.

You cannot play the content in your 2nd 360 (replacement) unless you are logged to Live. Make a test: offline try to play them. They will be reverted to demo.

Probably the Wrong place since this Place is not Eurocentric but anyway:

Any word when we Germans can expect Turtles Arcade? Days? Weeks? Months?

if somebody discusses something online in any of the major gaming forums and/or any of the MS blogs, you can bet MS knows about it.

Now I am afraid... :lol The Big Brother is all over us.... :lol

OK, I know I will never get a directly answer from any rep until it is officially announced. It would be good to know that not only MS is aware of it BUT is doing something to correct it. But I can wait, I guess.

You know about those Militar Sattelites that can identify a car licence anywhere in the globe? Wanna bet who did the software for them? :lol Take care...

Ebgames has Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged for $19.99. So does Amazon . . . I guess it is a price-drop.

For comparison, that is equal to paying 1600 MS points for:
- Geometry Wars Evolved (normally 400 points)
- Bejeweled 2 Deluxe (normally 800 points)
- Wik: Fable of Souls (normally 800 points)
- Hardwood Backgammon (normally 400 points)
- Outpost Kaloki X (normally 800 points)
- Texas Hold’em (normally 800 points)

(That is according to prices listed on wikipedia, correct me if I/Wiki am wrong.)

Unfortunately for me, I have 1/2 those games already. :-/

The influx of turtles would greatly upset your country's ecosystem. Haven't The Simpsons taught you anything? If a small frog can lead to a plague who knows what will happen?
