I wish I had the time to lurk forums all day and try to understand that viral marketing AI. I am not kidding. I really wish I could.

I don't understand why it needs an excuse for that awesome game..

I'd say it's totally worth ten bucks. It has, what, five modes?

Thats still three more than shadowrun!

zing!

Six modes I think and yea most of the anger against the price point vanished when it actually justified said price point.

Downloading Pop now.

Name: Prince of Persia Classic
Price: 800 Points
Availability: All Xbox Live regions
Dash Details: Single Player, HD (High Definition). Escape from Jaffar's dungeon and save the Princess! Prince of Persia is a high-definition 3D adventure platformer based on the original 1989 hit.

Also, Catan - Generals Expansion added:

Name: Catan - Generals Expansion Pack 1
Price: 200 Points
Availability: Not available in Hong Kong or Taiwan
Dash Details: Test your skills playing against historical personalities including Joan of Arc, Hannibal, Tokugawa and more!!! Download it now!

Also bought Pac Man CE, loving it. Finally using some of my points, and bought another 1500 today, getting ready for POP and Bomberman Live.

Also, as much as I feel Pac Man CE should be 400 points, but I think one of the 1up editors said it best - Look at PopCap. Peggle would cost you $20-30 dollars [$29.95AU? jeez]. We're getting bargains, really.

so downloaded trial, beat first level and bought the game.

At first animation sequence wasn't impressed with the graphics but in game it works, the controls are tight and above all its fun, but ofcourse DAMN SPIKES!

Whaaat? They release a surprise expansion, which is something Catan players have been waiting for, and it's just a set of gamerpics for the AI? New contestant for worst DLC ever after last weeks Small Arms fiasco!

Edit: Oh, and yeah, the Bomberman price is a typo. It is, of course, 800 pts.

Is anyone else's Prince of Persia freezing just after the copyright screens? I can't seem to get mine to go much further than the company logos.

It isn't just pictures, the AI personalities do play quite differently from each other. But yeah, 200 points for a few AI tweaking parameters and a JPEG is ridiculous.

Not me. Delete it and download it again. Of course, freezing on new games is often a sign of a 360 about to go all red-eyed Cyclops.

Do not want. Give me a real expansion please.

Oh man not my third one. I've named it and everything: Threezors. I'm gonna re-download it later tonight, hopefully it works.

Ubi did an excellent job with PoP Classic - excellent.

Whoever did this needs to be put on more classic revival jobs, as it moves and plays wonderfully great!

Although I understand why they charged 800 points, I still say it was a mistake. Right now the leaderboards have about 26500 names, which after a week is really low for a game being called as fun as "Geometry Wars".

That's really unfortunate and bad news for 2-d fans. Maybe they should have called it "Pac-Man 2" or something. Would have gone along with the "historic moment" hyperbole. Worst thing about it is game deserves to sell even at 800 and I would have loved to see more new versions of classics like this. Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

I hope I'm not the only one who cares - new game pack for Solitaire came out today.

Soltrio Solitaire - Game Pack 1 (150 Microsoft Points, 300 KB) includes 10 games:

Clock

Compass Easy

Compass

Lady of the Manor

Miss Milligan

Russian Solitaire

Sir Tommy

Storehouse

Whitehead

Yin & Yang

Well I found a quick and dirty way to avoid having a demo show up 0/200 on your gamerscore. Just start up a 'guest' profile and sign into that before trying out a demo. I'm sure others have figured it out already and its a pain, but its a small price to pay for some of you anal folks.

200 MS Points, that's gotta be a typo.
The 2 and the 8 are nowhere near each other though...And they don't look like each other either... I'm taking a screenshot for prosperity. Maybe we can hold MS to it.

Well, I bought a Bomberman for every system I have owned so price isn't important. What is the release date?

It has to be, sounds way too good to be true. Or perhaps it is a borked version of Bomberman.

All indications point to Bomberman LIVE being a return to form, and I don't wanna know how Hudson could do worse then Bomberman: Act Zero.

I'd imagine they'll be pushing the Bomberman DLC packs for 200 points

First pack (30 days after LIVE date):
- 1 New Game Mode - Most Frags Mode
- 2 arenas – Air Ship, and a Las Vegas Level
- 10 new characters
- 5 Gamer Pics
- 1 Theme

Second pack (60 days after LIVE date):
- Bomb Shelters
- 10 new characters
- 2 arenas -- Race Level, and an Dreamland Level
- 5 Gamer Pics
- 1 Theme

Third pack (90 days after LIVE date):
- 2 new arenas Candy World & Inferno
- 10 new characters
- 5 Gamer Pics
- 1 Theme

Should just sell the whole thing for 1200. For a full-fledged classic-style Bomberman imo that's still a great deal; bonus for not fragmenting the userbase. Although after CE I imagine publishers will be careful re initial price point.

Fragmenting level types like this is useless. I mean.. how many people would have bought the additional Hell and Jungle landscapes for Worms XBLA?

A lot of people bought all of the Lumines packs but afaik that's the only truly successful DLC. For Bomberman it's a really bad idea because the game absolutely depends on a solid community. We'll see, I'm still really looking forward to the game.

Hudson isn't developing the game, though. Backbone is, or whatever division of Foundation 9 it was.

(I still don't think Act Zero was that bad, unfortunate art direction aside. It played fairly well actually.)

I agree, which is why it's a relief that from what I recall seeing (a lot of stuff was locked from the start), there was a decent amount of meat to the game. We played a whole bunch of different modes and levels.

GAF is sure to bitch either way, but what I saw was good enough for me anyway.
