I'd prefer Return Fire, but Death Rally would be spectacular.
GT Interactive is sitting on tons of hot properties. Z is one of the finest RTS console games ever made and they could release Dead Ball Zone against Undertow and probably still come out on top. And then there is the Midway published Rush series.

Who owns the rights to 3DO games now that the company is defunct?

I'd love to see some titles like Killing Time, Captain Quasar and Escape from Monster Manor make their way to XBLA. Killing Time, especially, since I always thought it was a game way ahead of its time that simply didn't have the hardware power to run it respectably.

Only 2 GAF'ers have bought Missle Command? That's pathetic. C'mon, MS, release Spyglass Board Games already.

I have fond memories of Missle Command on the Atari 2600 and the XBLA is pretty good all things considered. It's nice that they have the original arcade version and an updated version.

Bring on Track & Field. Please.

800 points is just hard to swallow for a no frills basic 4 board games. Same with solitaire.

There was some more Worms DLC out today, so today continued the trend of 2 items going up every Wednesday; either a game + DLC or game + game.

Well, I have found that is actually a bit of a misnomer, for example last week was game + DLC + DLC + DLC, Though it does seem safe to say if it isn't two games, there will be at least one DLC pack dropping as well.

Speaking of DLC, IGN XBOX 360 has some details about the upcoming DLC for Boom Boom Rocket.

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/801/801565p1.html

Bizarre Creations has promised that an explosion of new Boom Boom Rocket content is on its way to Xbox Live Marketplace, including songs in different styles of music.

Exactly what styles of music we can expect still remains to be seen, plus Bizarre hasn't announced a release date for the download pack as yet. However, there will five five new tracks and add-on pack is already shaping up nicely. "The audio is written, recorded and in the game, and right now the team are working on camera positioning and firework layout", explained Bizarre's Ben Ward.

If War World is the game I'm thinking of it's more Mech Assault/UT than Mech Warrior/Chromhounds.
It looked and played like an Unreal 2k4 mod. Not bad for XBLA, however. It would be a no brainer at 800 but it will probably be 1200.

For a XBLA game, that ain't bad.

Damn that's impressive.
Late summer? Sign me up for certain.

Oh and this is rather unrelated but is there anyone playing the Quake 2 bonus disc? I tried searching for games once and came up empty. Shame really since aside from the crappy load-times it's a nice port.

This has online? I'm there, if it does.

Well, it has been awhile in the making but Codemaster's Sensible World of Soccer has a date and price 29th of August and it will cost you 800 Microsoft points (that’s £6.80 or €9.30). A version for Windows Vista is pencilled in for Q4 2007.

Latest XBLA list from Major Nelson:

Top Arcade Titles (Full Versions)
1 - Missile Command
2 3 UNO
3 5 Carcassonne
4 - Geometry Wars Evolved
5 6 Worms
6 4 Pac-Man C.E.
7 - 3D Ultra™ Minigolf Adventures
8 1 Prince of Persia
9 - Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
10 - Pinball FX

No XBLA games were on the top live titles list this week.

Wow. Bomberman Live in July and SWOS in August. XBLA is getting insanely good.

Well, after sanding another controller to play(rat bastard friend stole mine) I'm not that impressed with the Lumines Booster. Some of the skins are amazing and going into my 12 rotation like the Okami one, but a majority is meh. At least there is no meguro.

They still need to put out more than one game a week though. We're over a year and a half into the system's life and there should be a ton of XBLA games ready to go by now. The list of rummored XBLA titles is huge and at this rate it's going I'll eventually be able to buy them with my social security check. IMO, it should at least be a 2 game minimum - 1 bullshit retro title and something else.

I quoted you for the truth of your statement.

I'm gonna laugh if they'll show Sonic again for the XBLA E3 montage video or whatever they'll have at the conference. I can't believe a XBLA game like Sonic is gonna probably see two E3s.

At this point, they'd better redraw all the sprites and throw in some HDR or else it's a no buy. Too many other quality titles coming down the pipeline to worry about Grandpa Sonic.

Yeah, that won't be happening. :(

Well, the best just keeps on getting better, Team Xbox has an exclusive first look at three XBLA titles that are going to be officially announced next week.

They are the previously rumored Switchball:

Coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade late this summer, Switchball challenges players to control an ever-changing ball along a narrow and challenging course suspended in midair. A polymorphous ball exhibits different physical characteristics as it changes form as either a standard Marbleball, a feather-light Airball, an electrically charged Powerball or a dense and powerful Metalball. Players will have to solve their way through challenging levels packed with tricky obstacles, traps and mazes. With beautifully rendered 3D environments including Skyworld, Iceworld, Caveworld, Cloudworld and Lavaworld, Switchball features an advanced physics engine, allowing players to interact with objects just as they would in the real world.

* Inventive and fun puzzle-driven play based on real world physical interactions.
* Beautiful and elegant 3D graphics offer panoramic views of 30 incredible levels in 5 amazing environments – Skyworld, Iceworld, Caveworld, Cloudworld and Lavaworld.
* More than 40 interactive objects including wooden blocks, sheets of cloth, spinning fans, magnets, cannons and many more.
* Morph the marble into a different ball, with unique physical properties including the metalball, powerball and airbal to more easily get through each area.

The completely new title Commanders: Attack!

Commanders: Attack!

Commanders: Attack! is a gripping turn-based tactical game with a combination of strategic troop placement and entertaining head-to-head warfare. Featuring a 1930’s art deco look and feel, players will use missile launchers, bombers and infantry to amputate the enemies’ defenses and conquer the land. Players can choose to challenge the computer AI in a 15-mission campaign across three different landscapes or battle against three friends either locally or online in four intense multiplayer modes - Versus, Team Play, Player vs. CPU or same-system Skirmish. Commanders: Attack! will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade and Windows PC this fall.

* Players can choose to challenge the computer AI in a 15-mission campaign across three different landscapes with two different difficulty levels or battle against three friends either locally or online in four intense multiplayer modes: Versus, Team Play, Player vs. CPU or same-system Skirmish.
* 15 Unit Types to choose from to fight alongside your Commander
* A unique look and feel with an intriguing 1930’s art deco, War of the Worlds aesthetic.

Finally, there is the previously announced in a bullet point Battlestar Galactia.

Inspired by the hit television series, Battlestar Galactica, airing on the SCI FI Channel, Battlestar Galactica is an action-packed top-down space combat game set in the universe of the hugely popular sci-fi television show. Players can take part in enormous multiplayer space battles with up to eight players online or play through the single-player campaign that includes memorable missions from the TV series. Pilots can either sign up to defend the Galactica or play as the ruthless Cylons as they seek to remove the human race from existence. With full 3D graphics to show off the detailed ships and cosmic environments, Battlestar Galactica allows players to fly four Human and four Cylon ships from the Viper II to the Cylon raider, each with unique weapon capabilities. Battlestar Galactica will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade.

* Single-Player Campaign: Pilot various ships and complete memorable missions from the TV series.
* Multiplayer Game Mode: Play online with 8 players in this relentless space-based action shooter in Firefight, Skirmish and Domination modes.
* Legendary Spaceships: Fly 4 Human and 4 Cylon ships from the Viper II to the Cylon Raider, each with unique weapon capabilities.
* Special Weapons: Coordinate attacks with a gallery of destructive weapons including the missiles, guns and more.
* Realistic Effects: Full 3D graphics to show off the detailed ships and cosmic environment.
* Defensive Maneuvers: Avoid annihilation with the barrel roll, quick turnabouts and other aerial moves.

Hmmm, maybe Puzzle Fighter this week? Sounds like a good game to release for E3. It's consistent with a July release too
