Once again a purchase a PS5 PRO…🤦‍♂️

Judging by his posts he's definitely rich, probably on a six figure salary.

Tbh it was fairly easy and retard proof. No screw drivers needed. There's that worry It might not slot in right . Feels super scummy when you see the empty space when you open it up.
A six figure salary doesn't make someone rich. There are many people who are earning over $400K/year and are still essentially living pay check to pay check because they are retarded and just spend money as fast as it comes in. Yes they aren't struggling to put food on their table week to week, but one missed pay check and is kicks off a downward spiral all the same.

How is Playnite? Ive been looking into it as it looks good.

Is it a pain to set up? Any issues youve had at all?

I did read on reddit some people saying they got hacked using it but not sure how legit that was.
It's very easy to set up but you have to log in to all your accounts so the first setup is a bit exhausting. And you have to use an extension to see uninstalled Gamepass games. There has also been some ganes lacking boxart in the library, but they've made the process of searching for art super easy, needs a mouse though.

In the end it's a fairly small thirdparty app so it's very possible that it's not as safe as Steam or Xbox App.

The payoff from using it is that you see all your games on the same menu, no flicking between apps, almost no manual operations at all, and everything can be started with a controller.

It's by far the best for multi launcher acces from the couch. Steam is horrible for anything outside Steam, all manual, no art. Xbox App is more automated but you get super lowres boxart and you can only add Steam right now.

Been using it for a couple weeks now, there has been a couple times where I had to pull out a keyboard with touch pad to move a mouse pointer and click on a button. And you can't see achievements or your screenshots.

But all in all it's great. Definitely give it a try if you have a living room setup.

OP reminds me of the kids in highschool who would buy a console, sell it within a year and then buy it again the next year.

Strange behavior.
It's not super weird if you buy it cheap and sell it with little loss. Sony only grants 1 year warranty so you always have warranty and a fresh controller.

Death stranding is amazing! Enjoy.

I personally cant wait for yotei.

If nothing major happens next year you can always sell it. If there's stuff that doesn't interest you.

But with the new returnal coming out....Just keep it! :)

I bought a Pro recently. I've got no games at all that are taking advantage of it.

But I know in the coming years there will be, and I'm going to be hanging on to console for quite some time; it's clear to me that the Pro is a very capable machine, and will be receiving games for a long, long time.

(hell, the PS4 is still getting games, and Sony is still producing it..!)

Still nothing that would tempt me...

Previous gen Sekiro ran like dogshit on base PS4 so I was forced to get a pro.
As I always said if price is a problem, ps5 is fine. But if it's not perfomance mode on pro can offer a decent IQ boost compared the base.

Bro the PS5 Pro is legit one of, maybe even the worst console offerings Sony has ever put out.
Maybe if you are poor ass. It's 2025. Thing is 700$. That's cheaper than the non pro iPhone… I agree they could do more with a pro but it's ok.
Still have my pc dude…
all those little jabs directed at you because you got a console to play games and don't want to wait a year or two (if at all). See why I've gone insane ? :p
I got ps4 in 2017 because I wanted to play some exclusives. It pulled me in because there were way more exclusives back then. Playing games back on my pc was usually some issue and people start calling you a peasant despite owning a pc.

Don't worry. Just play the game. This is all it is about.

Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Wolverine, Saros, Intergalatic, Pragmata, etc....plenty of AAA games that wont be on PC for a few years. Congrats, you made the right choice.

Again?

Lol the more time pass the more i feel like a moron for buying this stupid thing just one time :lollipop_squinting:

2 times is diabolical :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Death stranding and ghost got the best of me…can't wait for the PC versions I need to play them now…fucking FOMO lol

Don't fret about it, op. Even the Greek gods weren't above frolicking with pretty mortals (or for that matter:, bulls , swans, snakes, etc) if desire overwhelmed them.

Maybe they don't do a PS6 Pro next gen. You would wait 4-5 years into the lifecycle to find that out. Then what?

Looking by Sony current output.. I will have no problem whatsoever keeping my ps5pro for a long time ... GoY and DS2 are launching 5 years into the gen and both look like ps4 games. If cross gen between ps4 and ps5 is this bad... imagine with ps6.

Right now the only game that would push me to buy a Ps6 is Bloodborne Remake and even than I know I can wait 1 year since thats been my rule for new releases.

And than there's time and cost, I absolutely dont think Sony can launch a 2027/2028 console with a true generational update for less than the ps5pro. So if they launch a 27/28 cheap (499-599) Ps6 it will probably just be a "ps5pro+" and for sure the ps6pro will come down the road, if they choose to extend the gen through 2030, than things may change a bit.

Never got the PS4 pro because of its dogshit cpu, and the same story repeats with the PS5 pro. This fucking thing is over $1000cad, and doesn't even include a disc drive. Complete retardation when it comes to price to value ratio.
The problem is, there is nothing better for it to compete with. It's PC or Pro for the best AAA experience.

Q1 2026 - there will be launch of Super series.

Both new and used regular 5070ti/5080 will get cheaper.

So is it worth getting a ps5 pro?

I sold my ps5 disc launch and a few games for £300 a month before pro launched with the intention of buying one on release. But after playing my back log on pc and seeing initial impressions of the pro I never got one.

I have my pc connected to a 65 inch QD oled and bought a flydigi vader 4 pro controller and have been having such a good time. And I own over 1000 pc games, 80% of which I never played. Being able to play older games at 4k and add hdr with special k is amazing. New games run better than my old ps5 too.

So is pro worth it. I have 5800x3d and 4070ti 12GB for reference

Hey they have to save something for the PS6 or it'll be too samey. Pro are luxury versions with better GPUs bolted on meant for profits, not efficiency.

Only really worth it if you want to play the upcoming PS5 exclusives day one.

PS5 Pro is great. Pretty much any AAA game on PC comes to PS5 (without a multi year wait) and the games run great. Don't have to deal with any PC gaming issues either. Just plug it in, turn it on, and you're playing.

I do check out the Sony games, but stuff like KCD2, BG3, Yakuza8 and E33 run perfectly on the system.

David B David B I've found your long lost brother.

Just keep it. Not sure why you sold it in the first place when you're rebuying when new games come out. It's costing you money buying and selling second hand. Are you strapped for space?

Playnite blows away Launchbox if you're okay with putting in the work. There's no jankiness at all once you get it set up correctly.

But yeah Launchbox can be more plug-and-play.
