Oh, that's true. Yeah, you'd have to one-hit KO him or attack him in a very rapid succession to defeat him then. Although you never know when devil fruits go up against each other. Doflamingo might be able to prevent Kuma from using his abilities, if Doffy was strong enough. Kizaru can attack at the speed of light, so he might be able to keep up too.

Maybe his awakened fruit allows him to use his repel from his whole body. He changes from Paw-Paw man to Invincible-Invincible man.

That will be the newest story twist. Specific fruits can change into different fruits when awakened.

Say what you will about the anime, but I'll watch it forever just because of the soundtrack. That video there just proves it.

*reads through Viz translation of latest chapter*
So now they call Inuarashi "Dogstorm" instead of "Dogupine"
... Just call him Inuarashi, this just gets confusing.
That's been cleared up, as always in the unofficial OPPodcast. Zou has been pretty hard on the translator so far and some words just have two meanings with no real way to clarify it with Oda or the editor. I assume you would rather have the right translation from now on instead of a botched one? Stephen has first gone with two animals in the name, as Nekomamush/Catviper had two animals in it's name also.
  • but people who do love OP are the kind of people who just want to sit down and have fun without thinking about OP too hard.
  • You guys just want to go to an amusement park, and don't mind the obvious inauthenticity of everything.
What about individual fans though? Thanks for lumping us all together though, that's gonna help with not alienating people.

It's true that Marineford felt quiet different from the rest of the series, that i will give you.

Could you imagine a world where Madhouse did the anime?

Also, to vleek out a bit here, the flashback with Luffy talking to Raleigh about Gear Fourth is not only really unnecessary but also really dumb. It's implying that Luffy could have already gone gear fourth a long time ago, which probably would have been pretty important when stopping Noah from falling on Fishman Island. This is really the problem with timeskips in general, they're never good.

But hey, leave that flashback out, and it's largely fine.

Didn't the flashback also imply that Luffy has probably something even better up his sleeve? Rayleigh told him that Gear 4 uses up too much haki and that he should think of something better.

Unless Luffy's interpretation of that is to use even more haki for his King Kong Gun.

Yeah, the implication is that Kong Gun wasn't strong enough, so he eventually needed to invent King Kong Gun.

That aside, the flashback reveals that Luffy was well aware of and used to Gear Fourth long before this side of the timeskip.

It's just bad writing which, at this point, is par for the course for shounen with timeskips.

Luffy's attacks have always been asspulls, but part of the charm is that they were usually pretty unique asspulls that made you laugh. When Oda went kaokin with Gear Second, things got pretty predictable. Gear Fourth was unpredictable, but then why sabotage it with an unneeded flashback?

I'm just waiting for Gear 5 and the Dragon Gun to finish of Kaido

He just didn't need it there. The Sea Kings said as much, if they hadn't intervened Luffy would have succeeded in destroying Noah. Better to not pull out something that will totally deplete his haki unless absolutely necessary.

Gear 4 also seems better built for strong individual attacks, I'm not sure how much it would've helped for a million individual hits necessary to break up the large ship.

Well all the gears were like this. He didn't invent them on the spot, he had them in his back pocket, and was waiting to use them. The only thing in Gear 2 he asspulled was copying Soru.

To be fair he is one of the few youtube theorist I can watch his video's for a few minutes before shutting it off, the others I can only stand may be 30 seconds at the most yes I know Rogersbase vids are like 10 or 15 min and I said only a few minutes
Haha so true, I don't even have anything against him being a guest to the podcast once in a while if he leaves those shitty theories out of it. Let him write him up some feature on their site if there is any demand for that.

Also, next episode of the anime might be ending on the Gear 4 stinger. Last episode ended right before Law was about to do Counter Shock and Doffy patching himself up inside with his strings. At the very least we're getting the Conqueror's Haki clash.

Some of the actual good Toei animators are doing the episode too. So for anyone who cares, check it out I guess.

Edit: Oh hey, a new chapter of One Piece Party is out. These are way too enjoyable.

I really only care for this track, but it's a really, really good one.

Absolutely the king of one piece songs. I dunno if it's because it permanently absorbed the swag of the walk on Arlong Park or if that walk was as good as it was only because of this song.

that is a good one, not my favorite though

'Difficult' is also really good

One Piece is also a long running series that has consistently good openings

I think I like all of them

So, the Gamma Knife. It sliced Doflamingo's organs to ribbons, but he sewed them back together with string. Which is fucking absurd, but okay let's allow it. It was kinda meant as a temporary patch, wasn't it? Just so he could keep fighting? Now the arc's over, he's being shipped away, shouldn't he be.. dead? Or are we just gonna go ahead and forget that he's literally being held together by threads at the moment.

That's how they actually repair organ damage like that dude, they stitch it up until it heals properly.

Knocking out doffy dispelled the birdcage, I'm gonna assume it should've dispelled the strings inside his body as well.

It might not work that way since he wasn't actively controlling the strings he used to patch himself up, he basically stitched him organs up and that was it. Birdcage was being actively controlled.

As soon as I read that I was like it better be Overtaken!!. This is like the best song especially for their epic walks. All walks have had this song, Arlong Park, Frankie House, even the walk to Enies Lobby before Robin shouted she wanted to live. Also When the Straw Hats got up after they got hit by Oz that was hilarious oh man I wanna link these walks lol.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
The One Piece soundtrack is SO good. All the best tracks have been posted already, but I particularly love Sanji's theme. I miss the old eyecatches.
Oh man, the second half of this is the absolute best end of episode music I've heard in anything, ever. Nothing can ever be as hype inducing as this.

Edit: Oh shit, no Karakuri Castle tracks? What the heck

Karakuri Castle Transform

I think this played during Blackbeard vs. Ace. The trumpets around 0:36 are some "shit gets real" trumpets if I've ever heard them.

Karakuri Defense System Deploy

Essentially Enies Lobby's danger music. The orchestral piece that kicks in towards the beginning is so good.

Karakuri Castle Activate

Played when Franky arrived at Enies Lobby. The perfect music for introducing such a high profile, imposing place.

Also, underrated tracks that never get mentioned - the recap tracks.

So

Good <---- ESPECIALLY THIS ONE

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Single spoiler image is out in the usual places.

Jack's human form. He wear a pair of fake tusks on the side of his head, and has a giant grill over his mouth

Random, but there are some on going themes with one pieces that are mysteries that i'm really interested about.

1. The smiley face jolly roger that many pirates seem to have (possibly influenced from Doflamingo)

2. The whole deck of cards system naming people: Ace, Jack, , Joker

3. Certain characters having what appears to be tusks or horns: Edward Weevil (his mustache), Jack, Kaido

4. Jack and Weevil having the same hairstyle as Lola

Yeah, this is great. I don't watch the anime much so I only knew of a few of these usages.

2. This is just guessing, but Ace is probably just a a name that means luck. He was created long before any of the other card themed names. Joker is Doffy's underground name; everyone in his crew has a name from the deck of cards naming convention. It's just how his organization is systematized. Jack is probably unrelated; it's a very, very common, regular name, after all.

3. Oda has explained this in SBS. It's just a character trait in the world of OP, it doesn't really mean anything.

1.What do you mean? Are you talking about Law and Doflamingo's JR? My take is that Law, as a tongue in cheek to Doffy, copied his JR while also paying homage to Cora.

2. Something to do with the underworld, or even how Kaido organizes his allies/crew? If it goes by "order" then you have Diez X Drake at 10, then Jack above him, which leaves the Queen, King, and Joker (Doflamingo).

3. The horn thing (real horns or no) is definitely an aspect of Kaido's crew. They all seem to emulate him to some degree as "beasts". As for Weevil, there's a theory going around that Jack is actually his father which is why we haven't seen his face yet (similar moustache maybe?)

4.Yeah this is probably the only reason people are throwing the Jackdaddy theory around. There's also a destruction theme going on between the two. Also, it could explain why Weevil is really fucking strong if he got his strength from his dad.
