One Piece Film Gold
That was really good. About on the same level as Film Z or Strong World.
One Piece is in the point of its life where Luffy is butting heads with the strongest characters in the world, and its only a year or two before he ends up fighting a Yonkou 1v1 and winning. This means that for movies (even ones that aren't canonical) you can't just keep pulling enemies on his level out of total thin air. Gild Tesoro is still strong, but the movie manages to give him the upper hand in the first two-thirds of the movie because of his underhanded nature, and its pretty well done. I found it kind of odd - but not unwelcome -
The movie briefly turns into a heist movie, which was a pretty neat sequence. All the crew gets some good moments, but seems like somebody on the team likes Franky a lot. Which is cool, Franky is cool.
Tesoro might not be on the same level as Z, but he's a good villain for a one-off movie. What little backstory they try and give him isn't necessarily needed as I thought he was entertaining on his own with an interesting ability. His crew consists of a musclehead masochist, Fortune from MGS2 and a dude who can no-clip. They're fine for movie villain mooks. There's a cowboy gambler dude and he's alright too.
The movie looks really good and there's a lot of good animation and effects during the fight scenes and comedic moments. It's not way out of the ordinary for a One Piece movie, but you won't feel bored looking at it. I appreciated the design of the Island and most of the characters, if you don't count the women but One Piece is a lost cause for that. I had to stop myself from laughing when the villains get golden armor and the girl gets bikini armor.

I don't know why Lucci (and Spandam) and Sabo were included in this movie. I kept waiting for them to do something and they really don't. They fight for 10 seconds then Lucci just leaves. Neither of them meet anyone in the crew, except Spandam who has a scene with Luffy for 1 minute and then never shows up again. Maybe they want to make the movie feel more connected to the series by including small scenes with Akainu or some Celestial Dragons but ehh...Aokiji was used far better in Film Z.
I did enjoy how Wanze from Water 7 appeared in a brief cameo. That's fine.

I just don't see how the shit is acceptable and I don't like it in my One Piece.
I don't think nami was that bad in the movie when it came to fan service really.
I think most of it came from Barbcat or whatever her name is.

Nah, it was every female character. They all had their boobs out. Robin looked like she was ready to give a boob job in her outfit at the restaurant.
I know people are tired of this discussion but I found it really distracting and miss when One Piece was far more innocent. It makes me feel like I'm not supposed to be able to enjoy my favorite comic and stuff related to it.
Nah, you are right. There is a scene I think, in the beginning of the movie (or was it the 20 minute movie special?) where Nami is wearing a bikini and there is a long shot that shows her from feet to head and I couldn't help but think:
A) It's a bit forced.
B) It's ugly, honestly. It looked as if she was anorexic. In the end, it's a work of fiction. But I don't really that it's good (like, morally good) trying to use a character that's so skinny for titilation.

Perhaps, though from what I've seen, spoilers in general for OP tend to be quite different (unsurprisingly lol) from the actual chapter, in terms of telling the full story, or wanting more accurate translations. We'll see though.
See I feel Toei is a lot worse when it comes to pervyness than Oda.
There's one example I always point to, when Sugar is knocked out and Robin returns to normal.
In the manga, it was a few panels showing her go back to normal. In the anime though, it has to zoom in on her ass and tits before showing her fully back to normal.
Oda doesn't abuse the male gaze as much as Toei does.

True, although that you can't help but wonder if Oda could actually tell them to tone that shit down. But then again, he's the one drawing the big tits to begin with (barring non-canon characters I guess lol), so of course they'd follow his lead and ramp it up I suppose.

I'm going to be sick.
I still like to ruminate on the fact that I came up with a probability-based devil fruit for a fanfic i wrote back in 2013 (the plot being that the fruit's power backfires when the owner is knocked out and sends Zoro on a journey through alternate causalities), though that fic was itself a ripoff of the TNG episode "Parallels," so I suppose I can't be too mad.

Saw Film Gold Yesterday, some spoilers below.
The movie was really damn good compared to Z and Strong World. I thought Z was a letdown because it didn't seem to know what it wanted to do in terms of raising the stakes or power levels, Strong World was better in terms of having a very interesting setting and backstory but still had some problems in terms of power levels. When I say power levels I mean when the plot armour is just too thick, It's been years since I saw Strong World but I do remember liking that more than Z.
Right off the bat, the most noticeable thing is that there's
, and you end up not minding it at all due to the incredible job they did with the crew. The entire setting, the whole atmosphere complimented by the bright visuals and jazz soundtrack made it a very laid back movie. For once I actually enjoyed the crew just having fun and was actually interested with what was gonna happen next, whats in that casino, how the plan is gonna play out, etc. The whole movie basically being 'Luffy's Eleven'(Karina+sunny included) was not something I would've expected at all.
Up until the last 20 minutes I would've given the movie a solid 8. Since Oda/Toei will never change their depiction of women I'm not gonna even bump any points off, all the movies have the same problem when it comes to them.
Tesaro being a villain with an interesting background is 2nd compared to Shiki, with Z being a very distant 3rd. Entertaining lackeys, side characters that aren't throwaways, it was all just SOOOO refreshing. I just wish they would've done more with Tesaros background without holding onto it for so long.
Whatever issues the movie had, was because it seemed like they wrote themselves into a corner in terms of story. The way the fan was stopped was something I just couldn't accept, they could've just had the guy be lucky and time it so he fell through and shut it off, not this tiny guy GRINDING AGAINST THE WALL trying to stop a giant fan. Then everyone else joined in and that was just a total 'wtf?' at that point. The
fruit makes literally zero sense as it is essentially the most overpowered thing feasible, can't she just touch Tesaro and the marines/WG can suddenly decide to attack because why shouldn't they capture this pirate while they can? This is like Sugar levels of things that just don't make sense and I don't think they can be written in such a way that would make me suspend my belief THAT HARD to accept it.
Tersaros character going from almost tragic to a broken record at the end was also a little disappointing(we get it money is power how many times are you gonna say that after getting hit). The random inclusion of
at least made sense since he was the courier for the tribute. Also this is a personal complaint but them bringing out
has me split, since Tesaro is Doflamingo level I guess it makes sense he
but it felt like more needless fan service of trying to cram in as much cool shit as possible. It's getting overused real quick.
