Yeah. You have to know that uso is lie for the pun to make sense. But Lyssop I'm not so sure about, just cutting out the pun and calling him Aesop would have been acceptable.
Same. Enel's the real struggle though...
There's just no good way to pronounce that name in English. I just call him Slim Shady.

Coby is still around. I remember Coby getting walloped by Luffy and nothing else.
His return is going to be so epic. The dude went from an absolute zero to a competent fighter with haki in six months, can't wait to see him after 2 years of being trained by Garp.

Her drawings of the Straw Hats already show how she'll be a perfect member of the crew.
Shirahoshi joining never made sense unless there a shrink ray to make her smaller considering she is bigger then the Sunny, that and her power would just destroy the islands they are on.

By far, anime fillers has nothing to do on how the story flows, not a foreshadowing, not a hint.
And if it was really important to her character it would have been shown in the manga not in a mostly filler episode of the anime.
I understand it's just filler. I'm not arguing that the episode should be taken as evidence that she could join the crew.
However, the episode does appear to be in line with her character so far. If it is, it only makes me like her more and I hope she will be further expanded on in the manga as well.
For what it's worth, this week's One Piece Podcast did talk briefly about the possibility that Oda could have let the anime producers in on more about Carrot for this episode than what's been revealed in manga but that's just conjecture. I'd like to believe but I kinda doubt it.
However, the episode does appear to be in line with her character so far. If it is, it only makes me like her more and I hope she will be further expanded on in the manga as well.

Meh. East Blue crew aside from Zoro and Luffy had no last names at all (or at least Sanji until right now), and Nami's is pretty bog standard.

Not talking about last names, but that Oda put actually put more thought into the name of the main characters than he did with Carrot.
Brook and Franky stick with the reader more than the name of a food.
Especially for a character that is a bunny.
