I like Kuroneko the most, but Kirino's my second. You're not alone.![]()
Will i understand the humor of this show if I'm fairly newbie in anime (only saw like twenty different series in ten years, mostly shounen)?

Why the hell would you want the MC to get with his sister?
Come on people thats fucked up.
Last time i saw harem anime it was ten years ago...Already saw these two. But thanks anywayProbably so, but honestly this isnt a great show for a newcomer unless you like harem animes. I would recommend something more like Steins;Gate or Fate Zero.
Not like Gintama? Great, because i didn't understand anything that happens there. Guess i need to see it myself to judge. If you have some basic knowledge of modern otaku culture you'll understand most of it, I think. IIRC it's not that heavy on references anyway.
I don't know why this isn't happening. It blows my mind.MC should go for his childhood friend.

Because take the title at face value and launch into "anime=pedo" mode.

When you have an anime called My little sister can't be this cute and have people wanting the Mc to get with his sister it does beg the question what the fuck are you on?
Incest is a controversial issue even in literature, let alone movies and anime.
Well technically in the West if an 18 year old does get with a 14 year old he is actually a pedophile.
However many people don't know that the age of consent in Japan is 13 which imo is ridiculously low. I think Mexico is the only country that is lower (12).
There would probably have been less complaints if the English translation of the title was I Can't Believe My Little Sister Is Such A Bitch.
(If ABC can get away with it...)
They could've just called it "I Can't Believe my Little Sister is an Otaku" and they would've been fine.

Manami got nothing in the bank to win. As far as her character development in the show has been going so far... wait, what character development? She simply exists. The blandest and most boring one out of the bunch. The mom should win before she does, and she's not even part of the harem.I don't know why this isn't happening. It blows my mind.

Its no more controversial than the hundreds of other topics that media endlessly obsesses over.

Manami is a sweetheart but yes she is a bland character. A very cute one.
Kuroneko is kind of haughty and stuck up without being an asshole and it makes her fun.
If you look at Oreimo, the actual content, theres not much if anything that can be considered controversial. Its a cute slice of life comedy. I think its because when people who are not used to anime and such discussions, when they come in and see stuff like "wincest" they assume that the poster is supporting incest which is a controversial issue hence the heated arguments.

This show will probably outsell everything airing this season.
Meh, cute sells.
Probably, although I wouldn't be too surprised if there's at least twenty light novels with variants of that title in Japan before Oreimo.
Oh no doubt. But to the credit of Aniplex, the whole title isn't on the DVD case anywhere. It's simply called "OreImo"
Yeah plus the japanese title on the side.
Its not translated at all.
Probably because that it's the Japanese version with the Japanese pricetag.
And deservedly so.
By the by, the father had some of the best development in the show so far as a side character. The support role he's given the main characters has been pretty substantive, and a bit underappreciated. Hopefully he'll get his share of time in this season.
no. Its the Us version.

When Aniplex are involved, there's really no difference.

Manami is probably the most accepting love interest ever. I so expected her to slap him silly when she found Kyosuke's stash, and she was just like 'oh, that's nice'.
Her unapologetic(if unrequited) affections for him are a nice change.
I take you haven't watched Sword Art Online yet.
