Will i understand the humor of this show if I'm fairly newbie in anime (only saw like twenty different series in ten years, mostly shounen)?

Do we have information on how many volumes of the novel the second season will adapt?

I like Kuroneko the most, but Kirino's my second. You're not alone. :)

Well, Kuroneko does have two cute imoutos on her side. That's two more than Kirino has, meaning Kuroneko has the statistical advantage over Kirino in Call of Pandering: Waifu Warfare.

Probably doesn't need to be mentioned, but Manami a shit

If you have some basic knowledge of modern otaku culture you'll understand most of it, I think. IIRC it's not that heavy on references anyway.

Why the hell would you want the MC to get with his sister?

Come on people thats fucked up.

Cat girl is annoying.

MC should go for his childhood friend. I heard she cleans up real good.

Don't know why people hate Kirino so much though. Yeah she's a selfish brat who thinks the world revolves around here and has no consideration to MC but aren't most teenagers like that.

You must really want people to quote your avatar.

do not insult goddess Senjou

Probably so, but honestly this isnt a great show for a newcomer unless you like harem animes. I would recommend something more like Steins;Gate or Fate Zero.

Last time i saw harem anime it was ten years ago...Already saw these two. But thanks anyway

Not like Gintama? Great, because i didn't understand anything that happens there. Guess i need to see it myself to judge.

Kuroneko sucks.

Oreimo jokes about otaku culture but pretty much directly because Kirino is an otaku (and a bitch) with tons of money to spare. Her friends also have various obsessions with anime and manga.

Takin' bets on how many posts this thread will last before it gets locked. It'll probably get to 200 since the (official yet inaccurate) English translation of the title hasn't been mentioned yet.

why does this shows threads always get locked? Its just anime.
The other anime shows dont get locked.

When you have an anime called My little sister can't be this cute and have people wanting the Mc to get with his sister it does beg the question what the fuck are you on?

Incest is a controversial issue even in literature, let alone movies and anime.

Because take the title at face value and launch into "anime=pedo" mode.

Well technically in the West if an 18 year old does get with a 14 year old he is actually a pedophile.

However many people don't know that the age of consent in Japan is 13 which imo is ridiculously low. I think Mexico is the only country that is lower (12).

Its no more controversial than the hundreds of other topics that media endlessly obsesses over.

I don't know why this isn't happening. It blows my mind.
Manami got nothing in the bank to win. As far as her character development in the show has been going so far... wait, what character development? She simply exists. The blandest and most boring one out of the bunch. The mom should win before she does, and she's not even part of the harem.

Manami is a sweetheart but yes she is a bland character. A very cute one.
Kuroneko is kind of haughty and stuck up without being an asshole and it makes her fun.

If you look at Oreimo, the actual content, theres not much if anything that can be considered controversial. Its a cute slice of life comedy. I think its because when people who are not used to anime and such discussions, when they come in and see stuff like "wincest" they assume that the poster is supporting incest which is a controversial issue hence the heated arguments.

They could've just called it "I Can't Believe my Little Sister is an Otaku" and they would've been fine.

Would not have appealed to certain otaku as much.

Manami is so nice to the MC. She's probably the only character that truly respects him.
I find Kuroneko to be eccentric and kinda boring because she's quiet most of the times.

I actually prefer Kirino as a character because at least she brings some drama or liveliness to the show.

pretty much. I'm not even sure if Kirino and Kosuke are blood related.
I watch the show for the other characters anyway.

Eh. I can't speak for everyone but I've become desensitized to the subject of incest in Japanese media. It's so heavily ingrained into otaku culture that it's not fair to judge someone for preferring that type of romantic pairing.

By the by, the father had some of the best development in the show so far as a side character. The support role he's given the main characters has been pretty substantive, and a bit underappreciated. Hopefully he'll get his share of time in this season.

He reminds me of my Dad sort of.
My dad doesnt like my anime fandom, but he realizes I dont ask him for anything, and I buy everything on my own income, so he pretty much leaves it be. Not to mention I dontl ive with my parents anymore, so they couldnt stop it anyways.

Manami is probably the most accepting love interest ever. I so expected her to slap him silly when she found Kyosuke's stash, and she was just like 'oh, that's nice'.

Her unapologetic(if unrequited) affections for him are a nice change.

Her family is also the best kind of bananas.
