Wait this takes place in Canada? I know it's filmed here but I thought the setting was just Sometown, USA.
Kathryn Alexandre has been in every episode of Orphan Black, but you dont know her face. The shows clone double speaks about the behind-the-scenes role of a lifetime.
I don't think they've stated explicitly whether it's set in Canada or the US. They keep it vague.
Oh my fucking god at Alison's community theatre scene
Probably went off of the known clone list instead of knowing the source material.Spoiler question from the article:
11? Is that number from the list at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orphan_Black#Known_clones or do you think they're referring to Season 2 spoilers?
BBC Americas Orphan Black season debut last Saturday doubled its total viewer and 25-54 audience, and upped its 18-49 viewing by 91% with Live + 3 Day viewing. That L3 audience totaled 1,577 million for the premiere telecast and three weekend replays, including 927,000 Adults 25-54 and 909,000 Adults 18-49. Orphan Black is second only to BBCAs highest rated series, Doctor Who, in A18-49.
The Live+3 lift for the Season 2 premiere ranks No. 1 among all TV drama season premieres in the 2013-14 TV season to date. In L3, this season debut ranks well ahead of the shows original unveiling: up 41% in total viewers, 52% in A25-54, and 65% in A18-49. In addition, Orphan Black was the No. 1 TV show on Twitter and Tumblr for the day of premiere and was the No. 1 basic cable drama on Twitter for the week.
Because of Cosima.
Because of Cosima.
Oddly, I think Alison is winning my heart more. Something about her all but quaint suburban life makes for solid entertainment on a [lite?] sci-fi show.
Cosima is the hottest x 1000
And her toothy smile. And her jazz hands. It's the glasses.
And her toothy smile. And her jazz hands.
Hottest clone: Cosima
Best clone: Alison
Governed by Sound Reason and True Religion
Alison struggles with Aynsley's death; Cosima's symptoms worsen; Sarah asks Art to help her find Kira.
If it serves of anything, it gets further explained in the following episodes and goes considerably deeper right at the start of the second season. The conspiracy part of the show wasn't that great up to the end of the first season, but I think it's improving considerably.Ooofff. Just got to episode 7 of season one, and I've got to say I'm really disappointed with the reveal of who was responsible for making the clones. I thought it was going to be a governmet or super powerful corporation that was making them, not some body modification cult that hangs out in some dance club. Who's the muscle in that operation? That douche with the tail? Some tall, skinny blonde chick? Someone needed to intimidate the army guy/boyfriend into being a monitor, and that tail douche isn't going to intimidate anyone. I mean, one 100 pound girl steals back Sara, frees the army boyfriend and cuts off the douche's tail, all in the span of like ten minutes. What kind of operation are these clone people running? I...this isn't good. Maybe they can turn this plot around and make it interesting again, but...man that was a disappointing reveal.
I think they did a decent job separating the "conspiracy" into its public face and inner workings. The fact that you as the viewer encounter the public face first might cause some confusion or disappointment, but it gives the writers more room to work with the "real" group instead. The middle of the first season is absolutely the low point of the show. It pulled back the conspiracy and made it much more personal at the end, which worked so much better. Season 2 seems to be on the right path so far as well.
Saturday is the best day of the week
It was always the odd day out as a television fan, now it has two shows I really like.
Orphan Black and Boondocks
My mistake, Boondocks airs on Mondays, not sure how I got that ideaSo, that's three.
I really love Jordan Gavaris. And he really cares about how he portrays a gay man on television. I remember telling him at Toronto Comic-Con that as a gay man, I loved how he played Felix, and he was totally humbled by it and appreciative. Even wrote a personalized message for me when he gave me his autograph. Unlike Tat who only wrote her name.
the writers have ensured that I'm destined to hate her guts the rest of this series.
Also, I'm not a fan of Allison. Being funny doesn't excuse you for being a paranoid psycho the whole first season, screwing someone's husband, or watching someone die in front of you. Her scenes are interesting yes, but the writers have ensured that I'm destined to hate her guts the rest of this series.
But, that's what makes her an interesting character. She's the most "normal" out of all of them who is thrown into this gigantic conspiracy. Her life is turned upside-down and she can't sustain it.
