Yeah, pretty much. She may mean well, but that doesn't cut it for me. Also, some of her world spiraling out of control is because of decisions she has made imo.
What decisions, though? I think it's very hard to blame her for anything that's happened. Even Aynsley's death made sense when Alison was convinced that Aynsley was her handler. So was I, as the viewer.
She doesn't always make the "right" choice, but from her point of view, I understand the impulses she has. It's hard not to be sympathetic. I don't really know what you mean by "that doesn't cut it", because she does mean well. Characters aren't going to make 100% logical and rational choices at all points, because people do. In those moments and instances, I understand what Alison is doing and why she is doing it, even if the decision isn't the best in the long-term.
