8.0 Presentation
Six playable characters, multiple costumes and weapons for each, and a slightly better story than the original.

9.0 Graphics
Beautiful visuals with a sick amount of effects that will drop your jaw. The slowdown hurts a lot and is a bit too common to allow Otogi 2 visual perfection.

7.5 Sound
A fantastic score, but the sound effects are very repetitive. The English dub is good, but not of any particularly great quality.

8.0 Gameplay
Fun, fun, fun. Sure there's no strategy involved, but destroying things and kicking the crap out of demons has never been so enjoyable. Button-mashing bliss.

8.0 Lasting Appeal
You can blow through this one in about 12 hours, but getting 100% will take at least double that time if not more.

8.4 OVERALL:
(out of 10 / not an average)

"Otogi 2 is not a major step forward from the first. The addition of the new playable characters is a big boon in terms of keeping the game fresh from start to finish, but there's not much progress here otherwise. It's still a very fun game and a better one than the original, but FromSoftware has yet to turn this one into the masterpiece it could be. Action fans will love it as it's a non-stop butt-whoopin' good time. If the term "beautiful destruction" gets you all tingly inside, this is the game for you."

Played the Xbox demo and enjoyed it tons

great graphics, great controls, great action, average framerate, hectic camera--but the positives FAAR outnumbered the negatives...and the interactive (read: destructable) environments were bliss...that section of blue crystals in the demo = O_O
