Nah, it's not that simple. Don't know if you use a thumbstick extender so it might not be noticeable to you but if you lower aim smoothing you can't do small adjustments anymore, tracking with characters like soldier/zarya becomes a pain in the ass since it's like your crosshair starts jumping pixels, not allowing you to do a smooth movement.

A very small one. It's really more just a better thumb grip, since i don't like the default, but it does extend it a tad, just not so much that I feel I have significantly better control because of it.

Fine, then give yourself a tiny bit of smoothing. Or whatever makes you comfortable. But I've been struggling and struggling to get a good control sensitivity for literally days and only once I turned that off completely did something just amazingly click. My accuracy has gone up across the board by 2.

I honestly felt I was getting sick of the game, because it felt like a slog to get through matches nowadays, but it was really all the controls and I've been playing so much better since yesterday because of it. I can actually...control my camera now. It's great, and I just wanted to let people know if they didn't already.

Weren't you using exponential ramp?

Dual-zone has been "broken" since last patch even with the quick fix they did one or two days after, so it's not in the usual state atm (it's looser, harder to control). I'm hoping they will fix it for good next patch (tuesday).

In the end it's all about preference, and it also varies a lot depending on the type of control you have.

I was, but they borked it for everyone, so I've been trying to readjust since.

I don't know what the 'normal' state of Dual Zone is right now, but atm, I'm pretty happy with the degree of control I have.

So exponential ramp is also different after the patch?

I've seen a lot of people complaining about dual-zone but not exponential until now.

Dual-zone in the normal state feels more "tight", you had better control. It's not something that can be sorted out by lowering the sensitivity though it helps a bit.

It affected pretty much everything since Aim Ease is in everything, and that's the thing I thought was bugged. I certainly noticed my aim feeling significantly different afterwards.

Honestly, at this point, who knows what it was because I've fiddled around with it and got used to a bunch of different settings that I don't even know what my old aiming scheme should have felt like. I'm used to dual zone now as it is, that's all that matters.

Yeah they said that when they add the aim ease option it shouldn't have messed with anything at the default value (0), it was a error on their part. How something like this made it live in the first place should tell us how much they care for the console version lol

Don't you love how many times there's an easy hard counter to fix the issues you're having and you can't switch because you're the only tank and the 2 second instalock DPS refuses to switch

and its cute that people thought widowmaker and hanzos wouldnt be in QP because of deathmatch

With regards to the last point, I honestly wasn't expecting Deathmatch to reduce the number of instalok players in Quick Play. If anything, I think it's having the effect of players practicing with Widowmaker and Hanzo (along with the DPS roles) so they can use them for other modes.

also yesterday after i was done playing on ps4 i went back to PC for a quick comp game. someone on my friends list ask to duo for one game i said sure. anyways. skipping foward. i forgot again that i have it to PTT and dva threw her mech like right next to me and rein. idk what our rein was doing because his shield wasn't broke. let's just say i was screaming shield up to myself.

I tried turning aim smoothing down to 0, 50, and then settled on 75 but it doesn't seem like a dual zone solution for me. 100 now seems so slow but lowering it just makes too fast out of the initial zone.

What do you have aim ease at? That might be another factor.

They are. And they're so poorly explained. It doesn't tell you what dual zone, exponential ramp and linear ramp are supposed to be, and I still am not sure what the exact difference between Aim Ease and Aim Smoothing is.
