Overwatch |OT4| You Want A Good Genji, But You Need The Bad Hanzo

Does Genji really needs an ability to reflect shots when his mobility is more than enough to avoid hits... (imo)

Yes he does. All offense characters have some sort of mobility option, some even several, so Genji having mobility doesn't make him any better than the other offense heroes. The deflect is Genji's defining skill. Take it away, and he's just a worse McCree or Tracer.

Finally watched C9 vs LG.

I really like LG but I feel like they need to restructure a bit. Whatever is going on with their flex and support is weird; I feel like they are rarely ever on the same page or respond to fights well. Straight looks like they don't practice together a lot vs better teams. I know that's probably not true but boy it looks rough.

Is there anywhere i can see the match now?

After night after night of losing games I think I'm done with comp. It's just not fun in 40s hell. No communication, no teamwork. It's not what I want to play and I keep going lower and lower.

I played a few comp games this weekend, lost all of them, at level 40 now. Same problems as last week... no matter who I play, I end up with 4 to 5 medals (depending on whether my pick can heal at all) with golds almost always in elims, objective elims and objective time. Yet, curb stomping aftet curb stomping. :/ to the point where Im so low, im not going to be paired with good teams at all, so it seems impossible or at least more trouble than itll be worth to climb out of that level 40 hole.

Same in QP. Had one of my best Reaper games ever, 28-1, tons of damage, highest obj. time despite having pretty much 3 solo team kill level flanks away from the obj.... and again, ring up that loss.

Despite all that... still having a ton of fun, and cant get enough of the game. Been a LONG time since a game has kept me around this long!

And it seems like their support is always one of the first to die. It sucks, cause Seagull cut streaming hours to practice for his tourney and they still have so much troubles. Hopefully they quit swapping people out so they can actually build a team.

Maybe. I still might want to see them swap out players if their synergy is that whack, but at the same time they need to actually build up a team.

Then who is gonna counter bastion at close range? Or Pharah's rocket barrage? Or Reaper's death blossom?

Im sure Genji can't outrun it even if he got mobility not to mention his close range is weak which is why he need reflect.

Really rough night tonight. Played about 10 comp games and won only 2. No one uses mic on PS4 solo queue. And worse yet they almost never pay attention to the preset messages either. If a Zarya is telling you her ult is ready it means she wants to know if anyone else has theirs. If I'm saying group up I'm not just saying it for shits and giggles. I mean fall back and make a coordinated push instead of going in one by one to die.

Roadhog isn't OP at all. Any nerf would just make him completely useless.

If I see a riptire I just hook and destroy it, no reason to waste the ult for that. It's probably one of the most satisfying ult denial in the game.

The hook sometimes works. I end up blowing it up in their face and it kills them 50% of the time.

Guess I'm a little late to the party.

What should I expect?

But seriously. Hope you have fun.

Haha I hear you. I'm on ps4, so there's never anyone on team speak anyway. I keep losing, despite pretty much getting silver/gold medals most of the time. I get winning streaks sometimes though, playing with friends who are even lower than me. Sometimes you play against McRee's who don't know they can throw flash bangs at Winston. Good times, that.

But yeah. I don't really care anyway.

Comp doesn't become enjoyable until high 50s and above. You still get leavers and some idiots but most games are fun and tough. Even randoms know what to do most of the time. It's a far cry from mid 50s and below which is full of idiots and dummies who don't seem to know what to do.

I think the skill disparity in the 50s is a real problem. I'm in the upper 60s right now and if I see anybody like 65-70 I can assume they know what's up. Then I play with my friends who are rated in the 50s and like I never know what I'll get. A 55 player can range from a decent DPS that groups and lands enough shots to somebody who picks Torb on KotH and uses gun only (that actually happened at some point).

Ranking system goes 0-100 and like it seems everybody is grouped in the 40-60 range for the most part with the good players starting in the upper 60s/low 70s while I can't even figure out where the bad end is since I avoided that mess.

I do enjoy comp over QP cause the rules and I like having a cool little number, but if I were in that range off "wtf is this person's skill going to be" I'd probably enjoy it way less so.

Just play Quickplay, broskis.

The ratio of quality games to shit games is no worse (and might actually be better), there's less pressure, and people are having a lot more fun.

The problem with quick play is hero stacking. I hope they get rid of it. After a kings row attack game against a team on 5 Mei and a mercy I said never again (even winning that game).

QP has turned into practice mode and stacking hell. I find myself not enjoying it unless I'm in a group now. I'm hoping they have a mode where it has the one hero rule of Comp without the ranking system. Just give people that choice.

Truth. It has become practice mode for me as well. There is less incentive now to switch to the 'right character' to win the game, instead of just playing the character you're trying to get better at. I still switch, but less so.

Yeah I hope for next season they come up with a better way to rank people that are now in the 50s. I have few gaffers on my friendlist who I think are better players at their low 50s than what I have seen from many in the 60s. But also I have seen some truly horrible players in the 50s. It's really random at times.

One change I hope they do is not let streaks affect ranks that much.

I really don't know how to manage anger with this game. I get so fucking tilted when my team gets completely obliterated and we can't push at all against the enemy team, or get steamrolled. Like I am legit fuming and had to quit the game after the match.

Fucking stressful.

If it's payload just play characters that can easily get behind the enemy team and mess up their set up. D.Va, Tracer, Reaper, Genji, etc.

Yep. I'm having little fun with the game for that reason as well. It really needs a playlist that's not ranked with no hero staking and no parties allowed for solo players.

Thinking of selling it and honestly thinking of just mostly dropping team based MP games. They end up not being much fun playing solo, most of my real life gaming friends are only into co-op stuff and finding groups on GAF and other sites doesn't really work as that crowd is mostly into ranked and there's always at least one person in the party taking it too seriously even if not playing ranked. Meh. Glad I didn't buy this one digitally.

Streaks should affect ranks a decent amount because if a player is consistently streaking they are going to get a pretty high winrate until they run into their wall. The way the system works right now is it isn't structured in a way to put those streaking players into higher SR matches to check them it seems.

The system in general doesn't seem to segment skill brackets very well anyways. Too many mixed skill levels popping up in games. Blizzard's refusal to let a queue go over 2 minutes isn't helping matters.

Pretty much. Every time I play QP now it's just stacking and ridiculousness. I like comp and the format but I want to play with people who know what they're doing and it's just not happening in the 40s.

first game of the day and someone quits while we are winning on KotH. Is there any advantage to sticking the match out vs leaving with no penalty in terms of rank points?

I've seen Seagull on a lot of Genji/Junkrat. Talespin has been all over the place, but mostly on Reaper/Tracer/Genji. Taimou is just the better ranged hitscan player so he'll always be on McCree for Envy.

Then you got guys like Surefour who will pick whatever. Surefour is a top DPS player but I think he's a god or anything. He is the main reason C9 is still relevant though so I would just give whatever DPS slot to him he wants on that team.

I've been saying this for the longest time Pookz is the weakest player on the team. Not to mention Gods and Enigma's inconsistent play.

Possibility of winning is still possible in 5v6. I guess it depends on your team comp and skill. When people quit capture points and Payload then I find those games near impossible to win and will just take the loss without penalty. It's less about rank and more about not wasting my time in a losing game with randoms.

I think Gods can be good in time. He's inconsistent right now but he's been improving with the potential to make really good plays. Idk wtf is up with Enigma, he just randomly makes these incredibly bizarre decisions. There's almost one "Enigma moment" every half. I'm no pro and I'm sure he's good, but those decisions seem way out of sync with the team.

Are these people for real? You got to be fucked up in the head to be angry and feel unfair that Blizzard ban accounts for cheating?

Thats like saying the casino kicked you out because you cheated but you felt angry and entitled to cheat because you put some money in bets.

Looks like this one was the triggerbot I've seen. Basically if somebody's cursor goes over an enemy it pulls the trigger for you.

I never really played as Mei in the past, but I have to say, using Mei and lying in wait in the side passages on Temple of Anubis as defence is amazing.

The panic it can cause once the enemy realises they're trapped in there with you.
