Thanks. Just seen that the lightning symbol means, my PC wasn't talking to the server for a greater time than the IND time. Hm... something that could fix that? Because it's really blinking every few seconds.

Probably has something to do with the weak rig you're running on? I wouldn't know though.

Went on a losing streak :(
Down from 64 to 62. Made it back to 63
This brightened my mood tho, managed to turn around a 2 down KOTH map to win the game.

Why is genji so much fun to play? It's like I'm addicted to him now. And every time I die I don't even have this 'rage' feeling or try to blame it on enemy/teammates but just blame myself, because if you die as Genji its because you did something wrong.

Because everyone loves being a ninja :)

Just wanted to chime in on the Lucio discussion since I was asleep when it happened, and would like to point out that a change to his speed boost would barely affect low to mid level play. Almost every Lucio I see in my games uses the speed boost only when walking out of the gate at the start/after respawning, but otherwise, switches to heal boost and staying on heal boost for the rest of the match. I've seen it on both my own and enemy teams, since it's pretty easy to tell both modes apart with Lucio glowing either green or yellow.

And I catch doing that myself, because I don't know if players would be able of using the speed boost to increase their survivability and attack capabilities (and as a rule of thumb, they do not - some even get thrown off by the increased speed).

So the argument of "people wouldn't want to play healers" wouldn't really hold.

I also would like to add that Seagull said on his stream that Lucio's speed boost is so powerful, if they took away his healing entirely, he'd still be an instalock solely for his speed boost. Just to give you another perspective.

His speed boost can be very useful for mobile heroes like Genji and Tracer, giving them that extra mobility will make them harder to kill and more useful flankers..

Meh, Seagull also said triple support would become meta in the Ana PTR.

Been lurking around the Overwatch Reddit and all the Sombra stuff is fascinating. I hope she doesn't end up being a let down with the neat leadup so far to her reveal.

I'm really interested to see how this character will work. With Ana, we only had a vague idea with her tool set & her overall appearance, a la through flashback media and small hints from Pharah. Sombra is a weird one, where we have little clue with who she is, outside from Reaper briefly mentioning her and the whole alternative reality puzzle that Blizzard has been dripping in chunks for the past month or so.

Blizz be trolling. Watch Sombra be a hero who uses a rocket launcher and wears bright neon pink as her default outfit.

Nah, it's a hero that uses two pieces of wood for a weapon, and will be a burden for whomever has him/her on the team.

Some random guy on the enemy side won : "GGEZ"

Me : Dude my team nearly push the payload into the final point by a few inches wtf?

I swear this kind people who say GGEZ are pure assholes.

I just really hope Sombra isn't that Robot character people have been posting. Such a boring design.

This one?

If you look at her head and ... crotch, you can see that A symbol there - this is the same A that Athena uses, Winston's AI companion and the narrator of the game (you know, the one going Now entering: Lijiang Tower and Escort the Payload! and whatnot).

So it's probably not Sombra, unless the theory that Sombra is Athena gone rogue is true.

Also I disagree that it's a boring design, I love the disconnected floaty limbs.

Anytime I read about these text chat things, they're just trying to get a rise outta you guys. Just like randoms who spam "Thanks!" when we're losing or have lost. Just dumb stuff. I dunno why I still see it in high 60's to low 70's matches. People need to stop crying like babies when they're not doing well.

Yeah, that one. Ahh, right. Didn't put those two things together, I just see people use that character as the thumbail for Sombra videos.

I dunno, I just find the design a little soulless.

I do like that the design makes it visually distinct from both Bastion and Zenyatta, such as it's disembodied limbs. It's almost like it's a new breed of Omnic, which won't go well with the resident robophobics in the games roster.

I really wish Sombra isn't a Spy clone. But, a lot of the heroes of Overwatch have a lot of similarities with some TF2 classes already, so that increase my fears.

Beyond having a stealth ability, I sincerely doubt that she will play like the Spy. The cloak is really the only thing she probably will utilize from the Spy's kit.

Since there's only 6 unique heroes (especially in competitive where there's only one per team), the mask ability wouldn't work. The maps also don't allow very much room for her to change into that, either.

I also do not think that backstabbing would be a good thing to give her, since Overwatch is more fast-paced than TF2 overall, and oneshotting shouldn't be a thing, at least not for non-snipers. Furthermore, it would make her a very difficult character to balance - she'd be very ineffective in high levels of play but would be absolutely frustrating to go against in pugs, where she would stomp everyone. Even more so than Bastion. I don't think that's something Blizzard is striving for.

And a sapper would be kind of useless - Torbjörn's turret is not as impactful as an Engineer's sentry would be, Symmetra's turrets only have 1 HP anyway and Bastion has plenty of ways to counteract as well.

A bit sadly, QP has become the place where people practice heroes they want to get better at. I'd imagine very few people really want to put in practice for supports, which has the consequence that no one wants to play them in QP.

I don't see how those mechanics would even work here. Builders aren't nearly as strong, teamfights are important, and if you could somehow disguise yourself people only have 5 other teammates so it'd be easy to see through.

If Sombra just has some sort of cloak then that'd be different, but I'm still not sure how that would really work in OW.

I like them. If they had to attack next and not get first point they stay quiet as shit lol

Solo quick play is kind of bad but if for instance you queue with 3 people you're likely the other team will get 3 as well and the inclination to make a real match out of it will be higher and supports will get picked up.

Nope, just treat it like practice mode to get better with the heroes you like to play.

As very interesting insight, it'll be interesting to see how Sombra would change the dynamic of the game when she is released.

That's pro play, that means nothing for us. For speed boost to be most effective, you need to have a lot of coordination, like in pro play.

If they took away his healing, regular people wouldn't use him because regular people actually follow the team tips unlike the pros. To say anything that pros do is what we do is totally absurd.

Yeah speedboost has never really been an issue in competitive and I've been at rank 60 and have watched guys like Seagull as well. The only time I usually see it used competently and not a getaway device is by really coordinated teams or proplay. It's really not much of an issue imo.

I swear it's impossible to rank up in the mid 40s. My competitive winrate is exactly 50% (32-32). For every good team I get there is an awful team that can't communicate. I want to get better, hopefully I place higher next season...

you do you. you're probably going to run into people that want to win and communicate. and most likely will ask you to join the group to build a group.

67 is my wall. why is the game matching me against top 500 players and full groups in their low 70's constantly even when i solo queue? seems crazy to me.

I was just in 2 back to back games with 6 randoms versus the same two groups of 4 and 2. I don't understand.

You need to realize that the other 11 players in your games are over time constant in skill level relative to the rank. That's why the matchmaking system put them there. The only variable across a large set of games is you. If you play better than your rank over time, you will rise in rank. If you play worse, you will lose rank. Since you have 50% winrate, it seems you should be where you are right now. 64 games is a small sample size, but honestly pretty decent in this context.

I had Mei on my team and a Mei on the opposite team. It's almost they teamed up to make our lives a living hell.

Walls and freezing were everywhere.

Is 35 pretty normally when you only solo queue or should I just be content with my scrubbery?
Playing solo is a coin toss, it's not up to you. I started on 40, went to 32, up to 50, down to 41 and now I'm 45. I did some duo/trio queue in between, but even then, the rest of the team can still fuck you up.
