I'm buying it the minute it appears on PSN but I think Nintendo settles out of court with them. I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up working together in the future.

Where is Palworld on the PS store? I don't see it. No mention of it on PS Blog

Nevermind. Found it.

Interesting that PS Blog isn't talking about Palworld at all. Due to lawsuit I'm guessing

So the PS5 version is still early access, yes? If there's a full release version coming later, I'd be inclined to wait for it, but I can't find anything about when that may occur, if it's going to happen at all.

Would be cool, but after that 400m Concord wouldn't be wise picking up a fight against Nintendo

Sony has $12B cash on hand. This is just pocket change. I'm sure PS5 Pro's release plus the $5 increase on gamepads will rapidly recoup those costs

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like

That's not how these things play out.

It's a patent infringement not a copyright lawsuit there's not a thing that Nintendo can do to push Palworld off the Market.

Even if Nintendo wins all they are going to get is Money from it if they settle that fee inside the court system or not is another matter.

Nintendo already looks bad on this case to begin with so they are most likely going to settle out of court in order to hide the amount they will be taking from Pocket Pair....... assuming they win of course.

Q: Multiplayer servers?

A: Not at launch, no. PS5 can play co-op only for the moment, but servers will be released in the near future. Apologies for the delay.

So is it couch coop splitscreen?

Or does one of the players set up an online coop session and host it himself?

Do you need PS+ in that case?

I'm very curious now that it's multiplat if the same gaffers whod fight tooth and nail for this janky bore will turn up.

Did we forget how Playstation was formed? Sony managed to end Nintendo's decade old domination of the market first try with PS1. Scarred them for life with PS2 and managed with Xbox to drive them away from high end console gaming. Sony was the only one to pose a threat to Nintendo handheld market with PSP despite being a secondary console to them.
Now with the rumors that both MS/Sony are entering Nintendo handheld space plus the increase of PCs handheld popularity, Nintendo must prepare a plan B to find a new nich for them. You can simply imagine handheld being made with full support by Sony and/or MS.

The Gamecube was more powerful than PS2 and a big reason PS2 succeeded was the fact that it was also a DVD player. This is taking nothing from the console because the PS2 was awesome and it's library is legendary. It's my 2nd fav. console. The narrative that you're trying to build though that Sony "scarred" them away from high-end hardware is fucking hilarious lmao :messenger_tears_of_joy:

People often forget (or choose to ignore) that Nintendo is a video game company first. Sony and Microsoft have way more areas to pull money in from. Nintendo can't afford to just keep upping the power of their consoles like them.

Also nice to give PSP a pass as a "secondary console" yet ignore that fact for Nintendo.

I showed my son the trailer this morning, he's quite into Pokemon, every monster that came on the screen he was shouting out "that's [insert pokemon]", alomst all of them shown. That said, I think if you dig deep enough you can probably find video game characters that look a lot like pokemon that came before pokemon, so it is strange legal territory. I think the issue will be if they actually lifted any assets e.g. character meshes and animations, that kind of stuff.

I was asked a question and answered accordingly, not sure why you brought GC since it further proofs my point?!
Nintendo was driven out of the "high end" console space cause of not being able to compete with Sony/MS.

Sony never gave a f*ck about Nintendo! And when they really do .. it goes bad for the toy company 🤣
NDS ousold PSP, WII outsold PS3, 3DS outsold PSV and NSW outsold PS4.

Nintendo is an innovator.
It is uninterested to go after the boring path followed by Sony/MS.
