Parking is getting super dumb...

Every retail location in America now:
2 to 4 disabled spaces every row (fat Karens), followed by 2 parent with child spots (More Karens), and 2 reserved for military veterans (not even a military fuckin town, Karen parks here too) for all 5 or 6 closest rows of parking spots. The next 2 rows after that are all marked as post-covid "have someone bring my shit to me spots."

Downtown:
All coin meters replaced with a QR code that wants you to download an app on your phone, and owned by some company in the middle east that somehow bought the rights to all parking downtown.

Work:
You have to pay us $10 to $20 per year to park at work, directly taken out of your paycheck. There's also a 1+ year waitlist for anything remotely near the building you work in, and those spaces cost more.

I agree with the first two, but I don't have to pay for parking at work.

My city is being overrun with Californians and New Yorkers and Ohio-sapians and now there's nowhere to park anymore.

I've never seen a parent with child parking space.
Wait.
You haven't seen these at your local Target?

What time is it?
Yeah never seen military, and for security it's usually a squad car parked by the doors which is another Karen favorite.

I forgot the verbiage on the signs (maybe Sheriff) but I've definitely seen reserved spots for police. I'm kind of surprised by just hearing abaout Parent & Child parking spaces as it seems like something Colorado would implement along with banning plastic bags/cups and forcing stores to charge for paper bags.

I once got tired of looking at a walmart and parked in the second lot behind. A guy saw me get out and said "what are you, some kind of psychopath?" I said "not yet, but I'm working on it."

Tell me you live in Chicago without telling me you live in Chicago. Let me know whether I'm wrong, though. Because, regarding those parking meters, it sounds like Chi-Town, to me.

Here is some comedy. Back when Babies R Us were everywhere, they had this pregnant mom parking. However, the parking spots were super narrow so if you park next to another car, and you're pregnant, you can't get out of the car.

This reminds me of Mission Valley San Diego

They have these pink fucking parking spots at our shopping centers. Clearly feminist bs and they mark it for parent and child. Thankfully I have my kid with me most of the time and love sticking it to them by parking there. I’ve had some yokes turn their head as I get out, mouth at the ready to tell me off, then my kid opens the tinted back door and gets out and their traps shut.

Leftist inefficiency.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
i park farther away and let fat people circle the lot like sharks for close spaces. walking for 20 seconds doesn't wind me. also the existence of ada and other spaces doesn't offend me.

No, but I suppose I usually park in the back of lots because I'm paranoid about idiots hitting my car.
Same here except half the time when I park far from the store somebody decides they have to park right next to my car even though there's plenty of space.

I have never heard of having to pay to park at work. That seems crazy even if it’s a low cost.

We are a little out of whack with the extra accommodations we provide in parking lots. Anything beyond the handicap is done by the store. Handicap spots are a federal thing.

1. There's no need to travel to anywhere that only has on-street curb parking. Live life by this rule and you'll never find yourself near a street crime.
2. If you're not parking at the back of the lot to protect your car from the hordes, what are you even doing?

Whenever I park at the back of a lot, I come back to find some fucker next to or opposite me totally ruining the point of me being there.

And lord forbid you turn into one of their lots and then decide you don’t want to park there. I did that and got a letter in the mail demanding $90 because I didn’t go to the machine and pay for a spot. I never paid it.
