PC modding not possible for GTA 5?

People will find a way.

Plus this is the ENB guy, Boris. He is (for lack of a better term) a complete asshole. Extremely dramatic and whiny, very opinionated, stubborn, and quick to form judgements based on how hard a time he has making his mods to a game. I definitely would not trust what he says after less than 48 hours of time with the game. He has his own agenda.

He does seem like a huge cunt

Hopefully modders will crack the thing wide open and modding becomes possible. I want to triple dip, but 60fps and the R* Director Mode is juuuust not enough for me.

I did and still think its possible. I've seen online modes getting modded into games that never even had an online mode originally.

yeah he does. dude's been crazy for years.

That's fucked. Now I'm conflicted because this guy clearly has mental problems, but he actively hates my sexuality and thinks I'm evil for it.

1. ANYTHING can be reverse-engineered.
2. ANYTHING can be script-hooked.

All you need is a little patience...

Yeaaaaaaa, yeaaaaaa...

Best graphics, 60fps+, various input options, and free online, yeah its more than enough for me and others who waited over the console versions.

Come on son seriously.....

Uh, sure, but I didn't wait over the console versions. I've already bought the game on PS3 and PS4, both at full retail price. I'm a student living by myself, I could barely afford the game right now if I didn't eat for the rest of the month.

Come the fuck on now.

Yeah, #4 in the OP is unfortunate and I hope he gets help, but outside of the work he's done I've mostly heard nothing but bad about him, so I'll wait on other sources first (which already seem to be contradicting this statement).

Of course GTAV mods will happen. The userbase is GIGANTIC and there are passionate people who want to break into the formats and see how the game ticks.

I think he's gifted (ENB can attest to that), but he's always had this problem of thinking that if something can't be done his way, it cannot be done at all. Very narrow-minded individual.

Okay guys, we know you are excited to see modding in GTA V but upcoming OpenIV release will be lack of editing features. We are do everything we can do release it as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind it is not easy to do it now. As I say earlier Rockstar is trying to prevent modding at all because they too much cared about GTA Online and I guess shark cards.

The PC version of GTA V is used new encryption algorithm, I don't know what exactly it called so I name it "Rockstar Annoying Encryption Algorithm".
At the current time we can only decrypt data so that is the reason we can't provide editing features in upcoming update.

We are work day and night to make things possible. Please do not forget that OpenIV is not only my [GooD-NTS] achievement, we have a team here. Listener and Alexander Blade worked for two nights in a row to reverse encryption algorithm, while me and Chipsman are implementing support for new archives and integrates new algorithms into OpenIV code.

Open IV was the Editor/Extraction/Injector tool used to Mod previous GTA PC games.

Not just the PC games; it's a program that works on any Rockstar game using the RAGE engine. Granted, on consoles it would look and extract information, but it's a program that has worked on IV/EFLC/MP3/RDR/GTAV. One of those has never had a PC release, and that should stand out ;)

It's just that in the case of GTAV on PC, they've added lots of encryption. The console version of GTAV's map has been ported to GTAIV, for example. They beefed up security for the real thing, and there are a lot of reasonable reasons why beyond lolantimod some may argue.

Why the fuck are they so obsessed with GTA online? I feel like every loading screen in the PC version advertises it. Fuck off and let me play single player GTA, which is the thing that everyone buys your game for.

I refuse to ever play through this game unless I can replace the three main characters with Servbot, Iron Man and Anime Desu Girl.

Your loss, Rockstar.

I just really hope the mods don't affect Online. I can't stand hackers in FPS games but GTA Online rampant with hacking will just kill the game's enjoyment within free roam.

OpenIV team released the new version of OpenIV with GTA V support! viewing files only.

GooD-NTS on GTA Forums:
Okay, no big speeches today, right to the business. OpenIV 2.5 first release with support PC version of GTA V. Currently you can only view files, edit features are not available now. You can open archives and textures, the other resources will come later. The audio playback is also not available now. Please keep in mind it is just a beginning
