PCGaf: 2 years after launch, who doesn't have neither ps4 nor xb1 still?

I almost bought a ps4 but then I realized I didn't want to play any of the bundled games and there was no way to trade them in or sell them for credit towards a game I wanted.

Maybe once it's actually been two years the offerings will become more attractive.

Maybe.

I have a PS4 but I barely touch it, I think the last time I switched it on was during the Destiny beta, and I'm not interested in the X1.

WiiU is pretty good, I have MK8.

I'm far too busy with Wii U and catching up on last generation games to get a PS4 or XB1. I will probably pick up a PS4 next fall when Star Wars Battlefront comes out. Until there are more exclusives why would I pay $400 for a system, $50 for a controller and $60 for marginally better PS4 games when I can play tons of great PS3 games for $5?

I don't plan on ever buying a PS4 or XB1. Probably the only thing that could change that is Bloodborne, but... I don't like buying a console for one game. If possible, I may just borrow my friend's PS4, it's not like he's using it. :P

Own an Xbone, but never played any games on it, except fo rthe Early access to dragon Age.

I never bought the console for gaming. Just am not interested in a console gaming experience. And no, hand holdy, corridor aciton games catoring to the lowest common denominator aren't at all enticing to me.

If Amazon releases a 24 hour live, local news app for it's fire TV, I'm kicking this xbone to the curb.

I'll be picking up a PS4 sooner or later for its various exclusives, but I've been having a great time gaming on PC, like I always have.

The next console I buy will be a Wii U. Visiting my relatives during the holidays made me wish I had one so I could've played Mario Kart or Smash with my cousins. All they had was a PS3 and no one could muster the enthusiasm to boot up PSABR (though we did have fun with it two years ago).

Aside from that, between my Steam library and my 3DS there's just so much stuff to play already. Nothing so far interests me in the PS4 or XB1 to go outside that comfort zone.

I haven't been following the console side of things too closely, but I believe Sony Computer Entertainment's "Playstation Four" will be launching in early 2015 and I've always really enjoyed some of the Sony titles like Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider, so I'll be picking up the new Playstation fairly soon.

That's some math from the OP. I own neither, no must have exclusives yet and my Steam backlog is too big anyway. Have a Wii U though that has already gotten a ton of use, played through and beat Pikmin 3 and DKCTF, still regularly play Smash and MK, and I've been holding onto SM3DW for when I've got a friend over to play with, way more fun that way. Only reason I've even been holding on to my PS3 is for LBP3 down the line and to catch up on TLOU and RDR (presuming the latter hasn't gotten a definitive edition/PC port by then). PC has been getting more and more high profile ports of formerly console exclusive franchises, and 9 times out of 10 it's the superior version anyway.

Nintendo home console revisions are usually disgraceful :x Wii lost GameCube compatibility, and then Wii Mini lost access to Internet and component output. GameCube also lost component output eventually. NES2 last A/V output too. It's weird.

Yeah the revision is more for the ps4 and its heat output/controller.

I've only owned first generation nintendo consoles, but if the successor to the WiiU comes out that soon and it has BC I'll feel like I wasted money.

PC+Wii U(+portables, but I rarely play them) looks like it is going to hold me over for a while yet.

Ys PS4 will not be out until 2016 in the west. FFXV will probably get a PC release. That basically just leaves Bloodborne for the time being, not buying a console for one game.

My answer now will be the same when the actual two year mark hits.

I don't own either. Between my PC, Wii U and 2ds I have plenty of games to keep me going a long time.

my 3DS is still going strong, between that and my PC my gaming plate is pretty full. I've owned all the playstations however, I'm sure I'll eventually get PS4.

Don't intend to pick up a PS4 or Xbone for myself, since all my saved Christmas/birthday money is going into a GTX 970. I did get a Dualshock 4 through.

My little brother might get a PS4 though.

I've got a PS4 but ever since I got my new CPU and video card it's been mostly collecting dust. I put it away until a couple of weeks ago when a friend got one with Destiny but it looks like he hasn't played in a while so it's going back until Bloodborne. With my GTX 970 and i5 4690K 3.5Ghz I've had no problems maxing out every multiplatform game I own and maintaining 1080p60fps and in some cases at 4K with a few trade-offs to maintain the framerate. I keep the Dualshock 4 around though since I use it for PC but other than that, the PS4 in 2014 has mostly disappointed me. Aside from Bloodborne, 2015 doesn't look that great either since neither Uncharted or The Order (ESPECIALLY The Order) look that interesting to me. FF Type-0, we'll see. SFV is coming to PC with cross-platform play too and will probably have better pad compatibility. I prefer more game-y games and have always leaned towards more mechanics/systems driven games and Sony likes to go in on these cinematic Jerry Bruckheimer summer blockbuster style exclusives. MGS V is coming to PC and after playing Ground Zeroes, I'm onboard with this stealth sandbox concept that KojiPro has adopted. It's on track to be the most mechanics focused MGS game so I'm happy. Hopefully E3 has more in store.

PC, Wii U and 3DS has been great though, especially in the last month or two.

I have neither. I was asked if I wanted one at Christmas as a gift but I just said no after looking at the games on it. Nothing I want to play that can't be played on PC and the only two games I really have any interest in are not out until well into next year and even then, I'm not too bothered.

The XB1 has some interesting exclusives, but I'd rather wait and see if they come to PC. Don't see any reason at all to own a PS4 aside from Bloodborne and it being 30fps drastically kills my interest anyway.

I have a recently upgraded PC and a Wii U, so I'll be fine for another year at least. The only console exclusive I really want to play is Uncharted 4, so at some point I'll justify buying a PS4 for that and everything else I've missed. That won't be soon though, probably after a pricecut/revision

In the meantime, PS+ (for my PS3/Vita) allows me to hoard a nice little library of PS4 games.

Both still lack a good library of games.
The PS4 is probably worth owning (for normal PC owners) in two years or four years when there are enough exclusives available for a good price but currently there is nothing other than Bloodborne and maybe Uncharted (which is the fourth game, and I wish it would be something different form Naughty Dog).
Also they have to release a revision which doesn't such and fixes the many hardware problems (e.g. it's way too loud and noisy, the DS4 feels cheap).
This Gen is dominated by PC's with no contest at all.
That's kinda sad...

Don't own either yet but I will have a PS4 by the time Bloodborne comes out.

Technically I do have a PS4, but its a 20th Anniversary model sealed and stored in a box. I did pre-order Bloodborne Collector's Edition and hope there will be some PS4 deals around launch. Until then, I'll be be picking up cheap Steam deals on multi plat titles - which has gotten me by for the last year without much of an issue.

At the exception of the PS4, i've bought all Sony consoles in their first year of release. I've bought the 360 with bioshock. even though i always disliked microsoft, but i couldn't wait anymore and i wanted to play that game so badly ... I bought the Wii at launch for Zelda, finished the game then put the console in my closet. Took it out to play SMG and put it in the attic where it still lies.

I havn't felt the urge to buy any of the new consoles yet. Only games that i'm interested in are Bayonetta 2, GTA5 new gen ( even though i own a copy on PS3) and Shadow of Mordor. I'm older now (25), i don't feel excited anymore about new consoles, i know i'll eventually end up buying the PS4 for sure, when MGS 5 comes out or if Last Guardian ... yeah ... nah ... I need to stop believing.

I'll get one if it gets MGSV before PC (like, significantly before. 2-4 weeks is short enough to wait). Otherwise, I'll get one if FFXV isn't coming to PC ever (still holding out that it'll get announced!)

Those are really the only 2 ps4 games I want, i'm happy with WiiU/3DS/PC for now.

I just spent $500 on a new graphics card for my PC, and rearranged my study so I can play from the couch or the desk, so I'm good for a looooong while. The only thing on my radar for consoles is Persona 5, and even that I could get on PS3 rather than buy another console I barely play.

I completely forgot about Persona 5!

I have a high end PC with a PS4 and Wii U. The PS4 has been near worthless but at least Bloodborne is around the corner

Anxiously wanting a PS4, I remember having it pre-ordered for months then cancelling it close to release because money was tight. Money is still tight, need to get around to saving up for one.

I had the drive club bundle preordered before the consoles came out. Then they delayed that game so I cancelled it, blessing in disguise. I'm mainly a PC gamer with a Wii U for the exclusives, that's all I need and I'll be shocked if I ever get a ps4 or bone.

I have a PC only right now. There is literally no compelling reason for me to get a PS4 until Bloodborne unless I'm just DYING to replay TLOU or check out Killzone.

I got a little spare cash from Christmas and I'm waiting for Nintendo to get restocked on refurbished Wii U's. There are just a ton of great looking games and you can't get them anywhere else, it's quite attractive right now.
