PCGaf: 2 years after launch, who doesn't have neither ps4 nor xb1 still?

literally bought both of them at launch, sold them, rented them both again this holiday, took them back

They just aren't for me yet. I'll probably get locked into an xbox one for Halo 5 though.

3DS
Wii U
PC

Bloodborne is tempting, but I will probably wait until the end of 2015 to grab a PS4. Too many good games on other platforms to pick up a console for one game.

I don't have either, I've been PC exclusive for about 3.5 years now, no need to buy a console when my PC plays games that perform and look better, games are cheaper, online is free, and nearly all the games I want to play are on it.

Win, win, win, win.

The only game I was kind of bummed about missing was MGSV TPP, but now that it's coming to PC I'm happy. Would be nice to play Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, and Halo but none of those are worth dropping $800 to play them, I mean that's 2 GTX 970's and a $120 in Steambux yo.

I only have a pc/Wii U and I have only been playing Xenoblade Chronicles on it for the last couple of months. Too busy atm to be playing anything else and the ps4/xbox have nothing that really interests me currently.

PC, Wii U, and 3DS has all the games I want and need. I might pick up one of the other two if they one day have compelling software.

Me. Been running low on funds or I would've jumped on the $400 PS4 GTAV TLOU bundle. Maybe early next year.

Btw anyone think it's likely the PS4 drops to $350 in Q1 2015?

Bought a PS4 at launch, built a badass new gaming PC this past July and purchased the Xbox One in October. Will be getting a Wii U in a few weeks for my birthday. As a fan of all types of games, I have something for everything right now. Bought the PS4 mainly for BF4 to play with friends, as well as the various system exclusives that will eventually be released. Built the new PC well because I have always been a PC gamer and wanted to finally build a rig with no financial limits (and to get my beloved Company of Heroes 2 running at a decent FPS). The xbox was mainly for the Master Chief Collection to play with friends and other upcoming exclusives. The Wii U is because I have always loved Nintendo games, skipped the wii, and I would really like to be able to play some games with my significant other because she is not as savvy with the other systems compared to Nintendo (which is why we still have the n64 hooked up lol).

For someone who loves all types of games, I really feel there is something on every system that I want/need to play. I would love to have a 3ds and Vita too, but I am already having an issue with having enough free time to actually play all the games I want to.

I still don't have one. No games I want to play for either. I probably would have picked up a PS4 by now if online was free but since they went the Live route I decided to wait.

I might as well wait for the redesign now along with sub $300. I picked up some $10 PS3 games over the holidays so that will tide me over for a bit.

Ohh, also just noticed the PC GAF part. I'm not much of a PC player anymore but I used to be. Now I'm mostly a console and iOS gamer.

Recently got a laptop strong enough to run Unity, so unless the MGSV PS4 looks spectacular, I might just stick with my Wii U and PS3. Especially with the DS4 being PC compatible.

PS4 has no interesting games so far, next year will change that though. I might get a PS4 if there's a price drop something next year.

Don't have a PS4 or XB1. There is nothing there that I want exclusive wise. The only current gen console I do have is the Wii U since it has tons of exclusive games I want. I also have a 3DS and Vita for my portable needs.

I made the foolish mistake of buying a ps4. Now it collects dust while I play PC and my Wii U.

Just nothing that great on it.. and there's been tons of great stuff on PC. I'm super addicted to Elite Dangerous.. I think it's gona be my game of the year.

Half tempted to just sell the ps4. Outside of Bloodborne I haven't seen anything that great and to be honest the fact they aren't really doing sword and board in BB isn't exactly got me that excited. I'm more hoping that Dark souls 3 will be better.

I don't have an XBox One or PS4
On the other hand, I didn't have an XBox 360 or PS3 either
I also didn't have an XBox, and didn't get a PS2 until like 4 years ago

I'm perfectly fine with a 3DS (system of the generation - just as the DS and GBA before it), Wii U, and laptop.

Neither here. Waiting for Bloodborne and at least five more exclusive games I can't otherwise play on my PC or Wii U before I jump the gun on a PS4.

Was 100% pc gamer about for years, had a ps3 as a bluray player for kids but never actually played any games on it. Mostly played MMOs though, but last year kind of got sick of the MMO grind and closed all my MMO accounts and started playing through my backlog.

Bought a ps4 at launch. Then a wii u (refurb) this summer due to the price, and finally an xbox one in nov due to the insane discounts.

Really enjoying the consoles, my gaming has gone from 100% pc to 100% console now weirdly enough, although I still buy steam sales and bundle deals. Its nice just turning the console on and playing, on PC it feels sometimes like a mini game in trying to get the game to run with issues of resolution (dual 1440p monitors), full-screen borderless window issues, and then all the driver/lag/controller/etc problems. Also any MP game on PC has oodles of hackers and cheaters, whereas at least on PS4/xbone I haven't seen any.

Pricing wise I don't really notice anything different to be honest. While PC bundle prices kick consoles ass, I find most new studio games I can buy for $35-48 at best buy with GCU, play for 2-3 weeks, and then trade in for $40-45 and roll the credit towards a new game. The same game would cost me $30-40 on PC at launch and I am totally stuck with it whether its good or bad. For now I basically buy new games on console and will rebuy on PC down the road when they are 90% off, if I really liked them.

its nice having options though, when both xbox live and PSN were down this past week I was able to catch up on some Titanfall on PC and Wasteland 2.

I'm stuck on a purgatory that's called dota2.
I even can't play other pc games. I'm afraid if I buy a console it will just collect dust.

I have a Wii U and 3DS for Nintendo stuff. but no real desire for another next gen console. The initial Xbone reveal really soured me on Microsoft consoles in general, actually. Right now, only Bloodborne and next-gen NHL are really all I'm interested in on the PS4 front, but I'll probably bite eventually, maybe after a price drop. I'd rather build a new PC for everything else, as it's showing its age.

how is that 1440p, borderless window, lag free console experience working out for you?

But PC only is a joke. You miss too many games.

Only if you care about console exclusives. A lot of third parties are starting to get onboard with "maybe we should make a PC verison" train. Even Hideo Kojima has gotten on the multiplatform/PC-port train with MGS5 coming (apparently) day-and-date with the console versions.

If you don't care about the console exclusives like Uncharted or Mario which are first-party efforts, you really won't miss a whole lot by going PC.

I have a PC that needs a graphics card upgrade soon and a Wii U. I was actually planning on not ever getting a console again but then I guess I got Nintendo fever when I played a Wii U demo kiosk.

And since MGS V is finally coming out on PC, I don't think I have any reason to get a PS4. Xbox never had anything to offer me, so yeah. No PS4 or Xbox in my future for now.

Edit: I'd also like to note that I feel like AAA games have been super lame lately and only indie (and now Nintendo) games. For the last couple years I feel like those AAA games and even the AAA wannabe games are just lame half assed story based non games. I like to play video games more for the game part and less so for the video part. Wii U and PC have definitely filled that need for me.

I still haven't got one, nowadays i only power my ps3 to play rock band.

The right game will make me get one, it still hasn't been announced thou... (for me).

I'm still console-less, but I'm constantly tempted by the WiiU. I didn't have a Wii either, so it's basically like two consoles. I can finally play Mario Galaxy etc.

As soon as Uncharted 4 drops, I'll be quite a bit more tempted by a ps4.

If a single console had Sunset Overdrive, Forza, Drive Club, and Little Big Planet 3, I probably would have jumped on one of the xmas bundles. I'll get both eventually, one way or another.

Between PC, Wii U, and (new) 3DS, I don't really have time for another platform at the moment. The library on the Wii U in particular is amazing. Easily better than XB1 and PS4 combined.

Was on the verge of buying a PS4 many times, because by pc couldn't run new games. But then it died and I got a new one instead.

Not much of an inconvenience because of the almost complete and utter failure of AAA games this year. Not missing anything important until Bloodborne.

The only thing I'm interested on Xbox One is Killer Instinct and the only thing I'm interested in on PS4 is Guilty Gear. And I can't justify buying either for just one game. Persona 5 will probably push me towards buying one, but then again I could just borrow a friend's PS3.

PC only here, felt like I should have played Sunset Overdrive. Otherwise I'm happy, can't justify either yet.

Right I have a Wii U, I guess that counts as something.

Still haven't bought one and most likely will not bother with the exception of perhaps the wii u simply for party and Nintendo stuff. From last gen there are around 5 or 6 games that I wanted and missed but got to play recently thanks to borrowing machine.

Everything that interests me is on PC and increasingly appears on PC. Moreover, I can not stand the over prescribed nature of the vast majority of console exclusive titles - which have lead to me being more PC centric in the first place

Who cares about handhelds in regards to this console vs PC discussion?

Well, if you go by the subject line - who cares about Wii U in this PC versus PS4 or XBox One discussion?

Plus, I addressed the "console vs PC" part in the remainder of that post:

But, if you're just talking about consoles, then, that statement is basically a tautology, and says nothing meaningful.
"If you're PC-only you don't miss out on any games (unless you care about games which don't come to PC)"

I don't own any current gens atm. I bought a PS3 in december 2010. Just recently started playing the Uncharted series. I go back and forth between PS3 and my gaming laptop.

I'm waiting to buy a PS4 when The Order 1886 hits. I will buy DriveClub and Infamous Second Son with it as well. And one month later: Bloodborne. :)

I'm also interested in building a new desktop pc with GTX 970.

I have a PS4. I dont play it much though. My PC, 3DS, and Wii U entertain me more. If it wasn't for Persona 5 and Bloodborne, I'd really have no reason to own a console. FF XV is almost certainly going to come to PC so I'll probably get that game there. I'd expect the same of KH III. The big Japanese gaming companies and niche ones are taking a liking to steam and other digital distribution for PC in the west.
