Never had an issue with it on PS3 other than the location bar constantly being blank, played the entire game on PS3. Just regularly backup your PS2 save file just in case it gets corrupted as a few people have reported that.Persona7 said:I thought playing this game on a PS3 is a bad idea?

No, they played on PS2. PS3 has the location bar bug mentioned twice above. PS2 games also have a rare chance of corrupting save files, so constantly backing them up is a good idea. I never saw it happen with P4, but I have seen it with Yakuza 2. Others have seen it with P3 and P4.mileS said:didn't Giant Bomb play it on the PS3 for the endurance run? I have read tons of stories online about Persona 4 save files being corrupted while playing on a PS3.mileS said:didn't Giant Bomb play it on the PS3 for the endurance run? I didn't know there was any issues with it.

Hence my comment about constantly backing up your save files just in case. Really easy to do on PS3 since you can make as many virtual PS2 mem cards as you want.Persona7 said:I have read tons of stories online about Persona 4 save files being corrupted while playing on a PS3.
I dunno - I've seen it a few times won my 80 gig PS3 with Yakuza 2 and Persona 3, but not with Persona 4. Each time it came up, it said something about "file is corrupted, do you want to continue" or something to that effect. I always would cancel out and try again, and it would be fine but I had regular backups made on another virtual memcard (just copy the save over to the backup from the XMB). I think the issue is people would continue anyway after getting that message as they didn't realize what it was saying (due to hammering on X to just get through the process perhaps) and end up messing things up.latinlikeaviolin said:Oh god GAF, why did nobody tell me this sooner! Does the corruption depend on which PS3 model you use? I played Persona 4 without any problems whatsoever. Though maybe it was just luck

Since my ps2 broke I used a ps2 emulator it worked fine so for all those people that have a strong enough computer I recommend it, just download pcsx2, put the game disk in and play, no worries.Persona7 said:I have read tons of stories online about Persona 4 save files being corrupted while playing on a PS3.

You still need to know the correct responses to make sure you max our the social links on the proper time schedule. The problem is that once summer vacation starts, you lose a lot of chances to meet with certain people... and then there are people who are only available on certain days.Andrefpvs said:By the way, I have a question. If I have maxed out characteristics (Knowledge, Courage, etc,) would I still need a guide to complete all Social Links in a New Game + or is it easy enough to do without referring to one?

Also, popularity leads to intimacy. Most important P4 lesson.Balphon said:Weapons generally aren't very essential, so I wouldn't worry about being underequipped. And maxing the S Link unlocks a persona fusion, not a weapon.

IrishNinja said:as for popularity - is that from test scores & personal characteristics, or do you mean the answers i give when building social links? cause i figure as long as i advance to the next level, i assume it's going well...but one quest i just mentioned said that's not enough, that you can get friend-zone'd if you don't play things the right way. i'm assuming no intimacy = no level 10?
Today I will be playing this for the very first time! EXCITEMENT!!!

I love P4, but god does that game drag on and on and on. I just did an NG+ for slaying Margaret(she went down easy!), and it took forever.

Could be worse. Could be Persona 3.
cj_iwakura said:I like Persona 3 more. Everything feels fresh and original. P4 just builds on that.
But when P3 came out, there was nothing else like it. It's an alien landscape.
Also, when events in P3 happen, things happen. The game moves along at a pretty set pace.
ultron87 said:I like Persona 3 too, it's just that there's a huge chunk of that game where you don't have any sort of goal from a story line perspective. You just go into Tartarus so you don't get thrashed by the next boss and not for any plot related reason.
