I say start with P4. It's not that I dislike but P3 but P4 is superior in almost every way and the games are so long that you should play the best first to avoid getting burnt out on the series; which is probably why people aren't really that happy if P5 came out before SMT4.

I highly doubt P5 is coming out before SMT4. It wouldn't follow Atlus' pattern.

Moreover, I completely disagree with you. Start with P3, then move on to P4. P3 has a much stronger story in my opinion. If you play P4 first, it'll be much harder to appreciate P3.

I'd say the opposite just so that you can appreciate some of the improvements P4 made to the gameplay while still being disappointed with the ending compared to P3's.

Also, I'm not sure I'd really want P5 on the Wii. Why not just more PS2 Persona if that's the route people want?

Kind of figured this wasn't really anything to get excited about though, sure Persona 5 is on the way in the future at some point with the success of 3/4, but I'd like to see another mainstream SMT more than anything else at this point.

That would make the most sense I think.

SMT has always been fairly barebone compared to the rest of the spin-offs and they could use it as the frame work for all the other games like they did last generation.

Atlus has always been number one on the Japanese side for developing really incredibly role-playing games (notice I am not calling them jrpgs). They have been preoccupied with other things these last five or so years.... I'm hoping my faith and support will be rewarded.

In the end, even though I think P4 is the better game, I like P3 far more. Probably because it was so fresh and new when it came out. When P4 came out it was,"Been there, done that." as much as I loved it.

I remember reading that they didn't want to exhaust the Persona series on the market by just cranking them out. So like Duck..er..Him...er...Ice house? said we've had our fill for Persona and its going to be sometime for another. Then again who knows what's around the corner these days.

There was an advertisement in a Japanese magazine for the concert DVD. The main characters for P3, P4, and P: TS were on it. Some idiots who were too lazy to actually figure out what the advertisement was for started running around claiming Persona 5 was announced.

Both parts of Persona 2 are so perfect. I would love another game like it. I don't care if combat is streamlined a bit. But just that sense of exploring huge cities, getting to know so many non-critical characters (not to mention getting to know so many intimate details about your partners) and dungeon crawling until you could just barely take it anymore. Oh man... we have been long overdue for an SMT game like that.
