I have a local retailer in London who sells games early all the time. He gouges us on the price, though. He usually tries for £60, but I've managed to convince him I'm a good customer so he sells to me for 55...
Still, when it's £55 now or wait 4 days for £13 less I can't really justify it.

Updated the MC critic count from 39 to 41 and added new scores to the unweighted review counter.
Without Edge's 8/10, were at am unweighted score of 94.34, and with it added, we'd be exactly at 94.

Don't know whether Amazon uk being out of stock means it's selling really well or they had a low stock amount from the get go. Worst thing about Amazon for me is they deliver around 1pm. It's basically half a day if I skip work.

I don't see the point of calculating an average with Edge and one without Edge. It's like we're trying to say, "here's the REAL score if we ignore the one that didn't fall in line". Let's not play that game.

It's not Persona, but it stands on its own. The battle system does some fun stuff and it's got a lot of pizzazz. You've got to be willing to put up with J-Pop though. It's basically
It's more that Edge hasn't been added to the MC yet. Hence why he has two lists. One that reflects the MC and one that reflects the MC with a score that we know will bring it down a bit.
Speaking of which, Digital Trends will also be added, right? That puts it at 93, which is basically where I figured it'd land.

Never said one is real and one isn't, it's just a method to help predict how the MC will change depending on the number and quality of upcoming review scores.
The only reason were including EDGE specifically is because they've already given a score and are usually included in the MC score, but haven't been added there yet, for whatever reason.

Ah, the shop I know doesn't have it in stock yet... just called them and they'll have it on Monday though for sure, so if you're local to South London and want it a day early let me know.

Nine perfect scores would knock the unweighted scores to 95.
(I'd say be happy with the 94, since 95 is unlikely at this point.)

Thread's been pretty good so far, aside from a few tangents. The Edge score makes a ton of sense and hits a lot of points that the import thread players largely agreed with. Even the Digital Trends score, which is the lowest score we've seen so far, sounds exactly like some of the import thread.
I think that's part of why reaction is thankfully a little muted: we've already been able to hear impressions from people right here on GAF. There's certainly issues with the game, but most people seem to have enjoyed their time with it. There's no massive surprises, like a divisive portion of the game that splits reviewers down the middle. If there was anything like that, we would have known about it by now.
Well, sometimes it's worth it. I had the day off before my birthday this year and managed to get Nier a day early. Cost me £10 extra, but it was worth it.
I just can't justify doing it for every game, especially when there's so much to play right now...

They've just been added, bringing the unweighted score including EDGE up to 94.14.
I've seen people say that DT isn't counted on MC, their BotW review wasn't counted either apparently.

I try to tell this to anyone paying some daft price on Ebay just to play a bit earlier. In a short amount of time all your friends will be playing the same game as you for a good chunk less.
They seem to be counted, they have 50 reviews up.
Why would they be counted for some games and not others? I might be missing how MC works somehow...
I'm definitely waiting. If they had it now I'd be tempted to get it for the weekend, but one day early for a £13 tax isn't worth it.
I don't get this focus on the score, I mean obviously it's a better prediction if the game scores higher, so a 90+ is better than an 80+, but when we're talking 93, 94, 95... it seems a little obsessive.
I'm just happy the game is obviously considered fantastic by most, which aligns with my expectation after watching the preview material.
I mean, even the lower scoring reviews read like the game is great (docking points mostly for things like fan-service, male focus, etc...).
Kind of what I've been thinking. A Metacritic of 94 is pretty god damn high for a JRPG. 94 is incredible for any game of any genre.
I've been fiending for more Persona for so long. Persona 4 was so good that I was sad when it ended. Tuesday can't be here soon tnough.

I was sad enough finishing persona 4 that I jumped straight back into new game plus. The mc being 94 or 93 is a great score either way. It's technically a PS3 port and its working with turn based combat which is unfortunately treated as outdated.

I hate the USPS. Today I'm supposed to be getting it but when I went to the post office to pick it up (put a request in) they said they didn't have it and that it's probably still being sorted and that I shouldn't expect today. Even though the delivery date is today. I'm pissed. Good morning, Persona GAF.
I'm just ecstatic that it's been ported up to the PS4 along side the base PS3 version. I don't have to go out and find a PS3 just for Persona 5.
