If I sign up for a trial Prime membership, will I keep the discount even though it'll run out before the game ships? Not U.S. based so there's no reason for me to have Prime otherwise.

Possible, but the fact that they don't charge until the game actually ships makes me believe that you'll probably lose that discount.

discounts are applied at time of order so it can expire and you will still get the discount

I was thinking it would be December initially so it's not that much later. I wouldn't be surprised if Europe was Summer 2017 but maybe it will just be a month or two late.

Fucking knew it!

To quote myself:

Spring 2017 just seems right for this game. Almost perfect timing, right after the crazy holiday season. Also, if you look at P4's 5 month localization, 5 months would mean it would be released he next year anyways. The game is still niche in NA. A little separation from a game heavy holiday season would probably help it commercially.[/QUOTE]"]

I don't care if I have to wait, I'm just happy we have a more accurate date. This is also perfect for my schedule. I can enjoy FFXV without having to dance back and forth between the two. So excited!

Honestly I'm okay with this because between FF15, Persona 5, and Trails of Cold Steel 2 all coming out around the same time I was going to have to shelve several huge titles to play Cold Steel 2 first now its just FF15 and that feels much better to me.

Seriously Play Trails of Cold Steel people, its Persona 4 good and the last arc is megatons.

This is the reason why I bought a PS4 back in November 2014...just a little more wait can't hurt.

Preordered the Premium Edition, thanks for the Amazon link! Prime discount ftw!

I hope Overwatch carries me through until February.

EDIT: Maybe the JP version has English subtitles? I want to import the JP collector's edition if so.

Not surprised it didn't make it for this year. What's in the japanese premium edition?
The first item is a Persona 5 art book featuring illustrations by Shigenori Soejima.
The second is a 5-disc set of the Persona 20th Anniversary All-Time Best Album, featuring music from all five main Persona games.
The third is a DLC set, featuring special Izanagi and Orpheus Personas as part of a special collaboration. They will also have exclusive skills.
The next DLC collaboration set is with Persona 3, featuring Gekkoukan High School outfits for the main crew of Persona 5. This also features Persona 3’s battle BGM and jingle as a set.
Following is a Persona 4 DLC collaboration, featuring Yasogami High School outfits for the main crew of Persona 5. This will also include Persona 4’s battle BGM and jingle as a set.
The limited edition version also features a special “Anniversary Edition” custom theme for PS4 and PS3 with artwork by Shigenori Soejima.
And finally, the above is a look at the exquisite Persona 5 Art Treasure Box.
Omg, that is so much better............................should I import?????????????????? Oh wait, dlc is region locked right? :(

"Hey, at least you can play FFXV" is just salt in the wound to me.

At least you can play Cold Steel II, until it's delayed into 2017.

FUCKING HELL. Usually I don't really care about delays but this one really hurts. Not to mention god knows when they will release it in the EU...

Yeah it's not like ATLUS USA PR confirmed more than once that NA release was supposed to be last year............

This is the first time Atlus has actually given a firm release date. Since the US branch doesn't control the game's development, they were likely going by what they were being told internally.

So, unless the Japanese version gets a last-minute delay or the localization team runs into some problems, I don't see this release date changing.

Ordered the special edition to the UK from amazon.com for £82 with delivery within around 5 days so I'm happy enough!

Do you get hit with customs/tax when ordering from Amazon US.

Also any hope of getting this in Europe or is it looking bleak?
I haven't kept up with the Atlus localisation issues.

So tempted to import the steel edition as its only £54, but will hold out till e3 to see if any europe related announcement. if theres a huge gap between Europe and US ill straight up import

So for importing i literally just order it off amazon.com and deliver to UK address and thats it correct?

Whatever preorder DLC is there, you can bet it will come along in the localisation. The only thing really missing is the soundtrack collection across the whole series.

This is up at Amazon (US), btw:

I usually love steel books but this one isn't doing it for me. I would love the bag, I used the GTAIV one as my gym bag, this would be a perfect replacement.

Is this the only special edition announced?

P3's launch version with the slip case and small artbook was good enough for me. Kinda wish they had something like that as an option for those who don't want some of the items in this special edition. P4 had a cool artbook for the first run, my brother still has it I think.

Expected.

Anyone thinking that the delay might've been because of the localisation... Please.

Everything we've seen about Persona 5 and how they've handled the different regional marketing of the game has made one thing very clear.

In terms of Persona 5, Atlus Japan gives zero fucks about Atlus USA.

Atlus USA is barely allowed to comment on any event or marketing done by Atlus Japan, Atlus USA gets trailers 6-8 months later than whatever Atlus Japan releases...

They'll never do anything to affect their Japanese audience for the sake of the global audience.

While there was a chance that this game could've came out this year, I would venture to guess that even right now, Atlus USA's access to the Persona 5 script and stuff they need for localisation isn't as access-free as you would imagine a sister company.
