Well, that was expected if disappointing. And people were convinced this was going to be almost simultaneous release. Also, sorry Europe :(.

Ah yes, an Atlus game EU release...... well, hello there VGP. I guess I'll be importing a game from you lot again. Color me surprised.

What a joke company. Should I expect EU version in 2018 or never ? It's not even funny at this point.
To be honest at this stage I think the NA version will make a fair bit of money from exported sales to the EU. It sucks the way it is but at least we will have some sort of access to an English version.

Expected.

Anyone thinking that the delay might've been because of the localisation... Please.

Everything we've seen about Persona 5 and how they've handled the different regional marketing of the game has made one thing very clear.

In terms of Persona 5, Atlus Japan gives zero fucks about Atlus USA.

Atlus USA is barely allowed to comment on any event or marketing done by Atlus Japan, Atlus USA gets trailers 6-8 months later than whatever Atlus Japan releases...

They'll never do anything to affect their Japanese audience for the sake of the global audience.

While there was a chance that this game could've came out this year, I would venture to guess that even right now, Atlus USA's access to the Persona 5 script and stuff they need for localisation isn't as access-free as you would imagine a sister company.

I hate this shit second rate customer right here while EU is like a fourth rate lol.

Hahaha. I can't even get mad anymore.

Honestly why did I even thought that they might release the localized version this year. I mean come one, it's Atlus.

Ah man that's disappointing, but not really that surprising. As unlikely as it was though, I was really hoping for a same day release as Japan.

Huh, I just realized that this is going to be releasing somewhere alongside Tales of Berseria. Hope P5 doesn't completely outshine it (if ToB is any good that is).

Fine by me. FFXV is going to take forever to beat, then you've got your fall/winter games, then P5 after that.

Perfect!

That 7 month wait though, after its been delayed like twice. Oh well, good thing there is other stuff to play before it comes out.

I'm Ok with Feb since it gives me more time with FFX5, World of FF, DRagon Quest Builders, CoD, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, etc, etc, etc, etc.....

At least not that we have a date, Gamestop might put it on their pre-order list....

Everything being always delayed makes me suspicious of anything that is being announced making its intended date. It's getting ridiculous because it's going as far as becoming the norm.

I mean, just in the last few years: Horizon, Persona, Zelda, Uncharted, Battlefield Hardline, Star Fox, Xenoblade, The Witcher, Super Mario Maker, No Man's Sky, The Division, The Order, Donkey Kong, Evolve, Arkham Knight, Mad Max, Dying Light, Quantum Break, Scalebound, Crackdown, XCOM 2, Ratchet & Clank, Homefront, Halo 5.

I'm sure I'm missing stuff as well, and I'm just listing very popular games, but just look at that friggin' list.

Nowadays you just have to add one year to any release date and you might get in the ballpark of when it's actually releasing (bar the stuff of nightmares, like Persona and Zelda).

I don't like steelbooks at all, I hope there's a way to still get the regular cover with the collector's edition content.

"On the plus side, at least now we have plenty of time for FFXV?"

Not for me. The two games are totally different genres imo. I have no interest in FFXV because of its sub genre shift but P5 was going to be my holidays big budget turn based RPG. At least there are some smaller titles in the pipeline that will hopefully fill the void like I am Setsuna, World of FF and Cosmic Star Heroine. CSH has kind or risen to the top of my list after that dope ass trailer.

Completely different audience. I highly doubt Horizon would deter the JRPG crowd that has been eyeballing this game for years.
You think they only want the hardcore "JRPG crowd" to buy this game. That won't work out so well for them, sales wise.
Persona isn't some super obscure franchise that only appeals to a hardcore audience. There will be a ton of overlap, especially since they are both exclusives.

Now that Persona 5 has a release date and FFXV is right around the corner, my inner teenage self can finally move on.

This is the best news I've heard all week, right up there with FFXII:TZA. It's really not that long of a wait in the grand scheme of things. Tons of other great games to play before this one comes out, I can wait. I've been waiting since Winter 2014.

2017 looks amazing already.

Ugh, I was holding out hope that the delay would mean a shorter localization time, but it looks like Atlus JP is acting like Atlus USA isn't even a branch of their company and making them wait until it's done to get ahold of it.

I want Horizon too, so the dates kind of suck, but P5 is absolute priority, so of course I have to have that LE

Oh well,February is not so bad,its slowly turning into the new November lol...still I find it strange that in 2016 some companies cant do worldwide releases and that it takes like 6 months between regions.
