Persona Community Thread |OT6| Where 6 Comes Before 5 (No PQ or P4U spoilers!)

What? Why aren't they happy with the case? :(

From the PQ OT, I've been hearing reports similar to this one:
Just got my LE.

Oh no, the included case is really awful. My 3DS XL is super loose inside it. A real shame, that was the thing that convinced me to go for the LE. What a waste...
Apparently, people are saying it looks nice, but it leaves too much space for the 3DS XL to move around inside of it.

Fun fact: a quick google search would have told them that months ago.

As long as you don't plan to throw it at a wall of fire or run over it with a truck it should be fine.

Not sure if I can pin one thing down, but I just really like her internal struggle w/ Risette. Plus, I've been playing a lot of Valkyria Chronicles on Steam and I may be blending some characters together.

FOR SOME REASON.

Look, I don't love "waifu" nonsense, but I'm at least glad you realized the misteak you were making. It was getting hard for me to support Atlus when their marketing was pushing unethical propaganda like "chiebestgirl4eva".

Also, that comparison is kind of funny because Isara is actually played Laura Bailey. Sounds exactly like Rise too in that game. But yes, Alica is such a great character.

Huh, well that sounds disappointing. The case was the whole reason I got the LE. Meh, guess I'll see what's up when I get my copy in a couple hours.

Honestly, I initially didn't want to like Alicia because of waifu nonsense. But she is a legitimately charming character, couldn't help it. Isara is great too, but Rosie and Jann are my favorites. Really, all the "main" characters are well written and executed. I don't get the Selvaria love though, is she expanded upon in the other games? She's alright, I guess.

My reaction too. Ah well, c'est la vie. I'll probably wrap my cleaning cloth around it if I think it's a legit problem.

So, I have a "problem" and I wanted to know if someone else has it. I'm a big Pokemon fan since Red/Blue to the present day, and because of that I tend to play every RPG just like I play Pokemon. By that I mean that I like to keep my team members balanced, even those I only use a little, all have to be at the same level and stuff like that.

With Persona I do the same thing, I train all the characters so they have an even level and have the same tier armor and weaponry. This obviously can take some time, but that have never really mattered to me. That's why I always get to the final boss with the main character at about 80 to 85 while everyone else is at 75 tops. I prefer that to having my main time at 85+ and the rest of the team members at their base level.

Now the complex part, Persona Q has so many possible team members that it will be kind of difficult to do the above mentioned thing. I want to use them all because well, I like the Persona characters, but given that they're so many it's kind of hard. A solution would be to focus on half of the characters for the P3 run and the other half for the P4 run.

What do you guys think? Will you be focusing on just a small group or will you be taking members in and out making their levels even?

I completely agree. The writing was relatively grounded, and I thought the love story was pretty solid and organic.

This is going to be a 150+ hour game for me I think, because every character needs to be at the same level to sate my compulsion! Plus characters need to have maxed out their skills, not their stats, just their skills. Whatever level that is is where I usually stop (usually around 75-80).

Doing that twice is going to take a looooooong time!

I just realized that PQ is the first Persona game I've been a fan of the series at release for. It's the first one I've got day one.

Eh, they're not really similar at all especially if you consider Alicia in the game itself.

It's kinda funny that Laura Bailey voices Isara and it's not her.

Just got home and I was happy to see that amazon sent my Wild Cards in a box, and the inside was full of paper so the box was in pristine condition.

I must say, Atlus USA did an excellent job on it, I will go as far as saying this is the best looking LE I own. I don't have that many, but of the ones I do have, this one just transpires good design. Great job!

Also to the whiners about the 3DS case, you got me worried for nothing, mine isn't even that loose.

The case isn't as bad if you have something in the pouch.
It can hold my phone, and I imagine a 3DS could fit in there (though not both the 3DS XL and a 3DS).
The shoulder buttons aren't really affected by the larger base though, they're protected.

Come on now, the story was great up to and including the black out.
That's five minutes of great entertainment you should be thanking Atlus for.

It's so much fun to rag on Ultimax despite the fact that I love the game.

Exactly! The game's fine, the story's just kind of balls.
(Still good localization from Atlus USA, mind you.)

PQ premium edition arrived this morning which I didn't expect at all considering I didn't pay for shipping from Best Buy. The box's front suffered a crease but I guess that's just because the case is in there tight and it was lying on that side in the box. Now I just need a 3DS...

Question. Since others are reporting some some "significant" extra room in the case will one of the New 3DS LL's fit inside? I know they're bigger but not by how much.

Mine should arrive tomorrow if the shipping order is to be believed! 2 days early from the official UK release XD

Cannot wait to get home from work tomorrow!

Pictures of the LE for peeps

FOR ONCE #HardinDidntLie the box is definitely really cool. Cool art on the back:

Soundtrack:

Art book. It's pretty small but seems okay. Really nice look and feel on the outside:

And now the part I was most excited for, the case!

There is definitely extra space in the case. It's not horrible but you can definitely feel the console moving around in there when it's closed. Still super happy with it, it's a gorgeous case.

The title screen music (the slow, instrumental version of Maze of Life) is my favorite in the game.

I bought the soundtrack a while back. Love the title screen music.

The PQ OST is really strong in general, particularly compared to Arena and Ultimax, which can be really hit and miss. The only track I was disappointed with was the credits song.

Look Lunar, I'm pretty sure your mind subconsciously already supports Chie as best girl.

But also, out of all the unethical standards occurring around the world, such as just letting the massacres happen in Iraq and Syria because no one wants to intervene (its happening there people, don't ignore it), and you decide to call amateurishly supporting a character to be unethical.
There are issues with game companies removing reviews from youtube to hide the fact that they made a terrible $60 game that is infused with "necessary" micro-transactions. That's unethical.
Atlus USA doing this kind of thing may be amateurish, but I would consider it ethical. And it's these amateurish moments that make me like them as a company rather than some giant "professional" company like EA that lay off employees by the dozens as a result of their overgrowth.

What

Man, why do you have to say things like this?
B-because it is?

May I propose we all drop the waifu talk entirely? I've been watching the posts on it for awhile, and they're getting increasingly inane, silly, and rather off-topic. Doesn't lend itself to good discussion either, as we've seen these last few pages.

It usually chases me away for a few weeks, then I'm reminded why I left.

Even if it's intended as a joke, was there ever ANY gain by anyone when we had them??

To change the subject, would people like an expansion on the number of elements are just keep it to the core 8? (Phys/Fire/Ice/Elec/Force/Light/Dark/Almighty)

I think it would be nice to have more elements, if only to make sure all the characters actually get their own specialty element.

It bugged me to no end in P3 that the later party members had redundant type coverage that made it hard to justify using them over their predecessors, barring Aigis who had the benefit of Orgia mode and being an excellent multi-physical specialist.
