I want a persona game set in 1930/1940s America.

Mainly because I just love that era. Can you imagine an Al Capone-esque villain with a persona?

Bonus points because Al Capone shows up as a plot important NPC (and has a bodyguard who's a giant alcoholic kitty).

Thought there'd be an Atlus event on the 24th because of 2013 and 2014 (which were in line with the date Atlus first became a publisher), but I guess that feeling waned after SMT IV Final was announced.

At least there's Danganronpa.

Time Traveling Persona game. Travel between modern time (2017), the future (2027), and the past (1987) When you do so, you automatically become students of that generation so nobody is suspicious! :D

And yet still more plausible than (P3 spoilers)
Ryoji becoming a student from out of nowhere
.

I honestly don't even want to hear the slightest tidbit of info on P5 for the next few months, not unless it's a concrete release date.

Never even heard of this one, might have to look it up, see what it's about.

I'd buy it. Hell, just give me Chrono Trigger x Persona, that'd be my game of all time! (No pun intended)

Well, there's always this.

Man, I cant wait until Xmas, I think this might be the first one of the games I'm getting that I try out!

It's the third of a trilogy, though this one is standalone while the first and second game are 2 parts of the same story. This one is also the weakest of the three. The second, Shadow Hearts Covenant, is one of the best rpgs on the PS2. They're all worth checking out but like I said, play 1 before 2.

in P3P. My party's levels are mostly in the 60's. Almost beat it, but I took a gamble on its
13th form, the Death Arcana. I haven't ever played a boss with so many forms, and this isn't even the actual final boss, right?

Also, for a series with such great music overall, P3/P4 both have underwhelming final boss music.

Gotta disagree. I think the final boss themes are some of the best.
Genesis is the weakest, imo, but it's still good.

The Battle For Everyone's Souls suffers because of how Meguro composes his music, but the fact that it's a remix of the Velvet Room theme as a final boss theme makes it a favorite. <3

I've seen P3's final boss theme constantly in threads of best final boss music.

I prefer epic, high energy final boss themes. Serpert Eating The Ground from Bravely Default is my favorite. High energy with callbacks to other music in the game.

I wish P3P's final boss theme was a remix of Master of Shadow.

Serpent eating the ground is the best boss track that i never heard in game.

The battle system in BD made it so that i never heard the final boss theme because i was always activating my party's specials one after another, so i just had 4 individual themes on a loop.

It was only afterwards when listening to the ost that i found it and went "This song is awesome, where is it in the game?"

Genesis is so surprisingly weak. I honestly thought my disk was having audio problems.

Such a shame after The Almighty and Mist are two of the most badass boss themes I've ever heard. I have to agree with Sophia though, in that the live versions of these are outrageously superior to the originals. Meguro might be one of my favorite composers, but his instrumentation is always lacking. He's best in soundtracks are mainly guitar and nothing else, such as DDS.

The Genesis is actually my favorite of the boss battle themes in P4, I love it when games/movies have little leitmotifs that repeat and the way the song moves from so many minutes of ponderous dread into a little bit of I'll Face Myself, and then into a sweeping orchestral version of Reach Out To The Truth is just great.

Plus being both the longest theme in the game and the only fully orchestral one gives it a great sense of finality.

Fairly certain The Genesis uses the same midi sound set the rest of the game uses. It's just that meguro adds an intentional echo to the mix.

I don't mind the genesis, but it's so quiet for so much of it that I actually couldn't hear any of it. Also, the big sweeping remix of Reach Out at the end isn't timed with anything, so you could hear it before you've finished the fight and then it's right back into ominous. The song just sounds out of place after the high energy of Mist. If it were up to me, I would have switched them around.

I think the song is fine, but...I can say the Persona games are lacking the smooth/richer instrumentation of something like DDS1.

Battle for Everyone's Souls is one of my favorite boss themes, but yeah, the live themes are even better

Battle for Everyone's souls is alright

It's a good song, but definitely lacking in that it doesn't really evoke or represent Persona 3 as whole. The Genesis clearly incorporates RoTTT, but Battle for Everyone's souls is just... a jamming tune with some Aria of the Soul thrown in I guess?

It's okay though, Persona 3's true final boss theme is Burn My Dread

First time I played P4 the ROTTT part of Genesis kicked in right when
people starting shoving me out the way of Izanami's death grip.
I was so bummed to find out that wasn't actually timed afterwards because it was such an awesome moment.

If it was actually scripted to something it'd be a lot better imo. It was almost my favourite boss theme in the game until I found out that was coincidence. Edit: Maybe 'better' is the wrong word. Memorable? Something like that.
