Although I don't know how it'd work aesthetically, I feel like there just has to be a Brainy Planner/Tech Guy in the Navigator seat, cliche or no.
A male navigator to change it up would be very cool

Rise breaks persona 4 goldenThe Dungeon navigation this time is a big change compared to the previous games
I think something so small like the gender of the navigator or be or not a navigator is something can be change.
But seriously , Storywise works but what other function have Rise or Fuuka besides telling you how many enemies left or the weakness of a enemy. (Something you do in other SMT games using a menu).

Vanilla was where the challenge was at.Rise breaks persona 4 golden

You know what I'm most looking forward to seeing from P4G?
Not having to shuffle for skills anymore.

All this Metal Gear hype has made me happier about the way Atlus has been treating the marketing for P5. I'm incredibly excited for Phantom Pain, but I already know so much about it and have seen so much story and gameplay. It makes me excited to be able to go into P5 fresh without seeing much of it beforehand.
Vanilla Persona 4 was a breeze, it's part of the reason I'm reluctant to play P4G.
This makes me wonder how easy is gonna be Persona 5 ... easier as f*ck like P4 Golden / P3 Portable
or a little harder like P3 FES or P4.

Please don't let there be a new navigator. I don't need anyone to tell me that I'm super low on health and that Yosuke is poisoned.
No, but you might want someone in your ears telling you to watch your six when you're out at night, pulling a B&E.
It's a game about thieves. A navigator makes more sense here than P3 or 4.
And with that, I'm now imagining the 'hacker in the unmarked van' trope from more recent spy films. That could be cool.

That's kinda how Fuuka is now that i think of it
I think the likeliest thing if there's a change at all is letting you 'choose' your navigator out of your group, so you'd have your regular party composition plus whoever on reserve.
EDIT: 'Hacker in unmarked van' all of a sudden makes me want a designated navigator, though. That's too perfect.
I had a dream that randomly featured characters from P4 last night. Me, Chie and Kanji were getting beaten up by someone (they weren't using their Personas) while Yukiko stood there crying. Marie turned up (she looked like PJ Harvey for some reason) and stopped the assailant by attacking him with a lightning bolt. I thanked her, and then realised that everyone had her face.
I wish I was making this up to try and be funny but this is an actual dream that I had.

Are party members considered spoilers? My friend has already started a P5 blackout, since she argues that knowing about late-joining party members beforehand spoils their subplots before joining.
Examples she gave:
Naoto -Fang from FFXIII -For the first half of the game, she acts like a minor antagonist to the IT, but knowing she joins later allows you to not take this subplot seriously. Also, since you know she gains a persona, you can assume she'll be thrown into the tv eventually, and she's most likely not the killer. For half the game she's presented as an antagonist working for the government, but knowing she joins the party later, you don't have to take her seriously either
I can kind of see her point with Naoto, so does anyone agree with this reasoning?

Everything from official sources (trailers, web site, boxart, etc.) is not considered a spoiler.
This isn't necessarily true and shouldn't be considered a rule.Everything from official sources (trailers, web site, boxart, etc.) is not considered a spoiler.
We can't post things from official sources in this thread, anyways.
Yeah, we basically can't post shit about P5 in here, but for everything new P5 related there is usually a separate thread.

Interesting. Since I didn't find out about the Persona series until 2012, I was curious about how Naoto was handled pre-release.It's worth pointing out that the original Famtisu DVD for Persona 4 went specifically out of it's way to hide the fact that Naoto was a party member. So yeah, party members can definitely be spoilers.
Mind you, by the time Persona 4 actually came out, Naoto's existence as a party member wasn't a secret anymore. She was on the game's boxart, and quite clearly shown as a playable party member on the back and in the second opening.
