I shall hereby present you a variety of statements made by Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka in this interview:

Of course it might have been different in the UK, but I haven't seen a single bit of advertisement for P4G here in Germany. The only thing I know of was a German P4G trailer that basically consisted of P4G's opening and a short note when the game would be available.

This part is incredibly baffling even if you don't take Europe into consideration. E3 would have been the perfect place to debut P5's second trailer and obviously they didn't do it which makes me wonder what they mean with that in the first place.

Again, Ultimax was released in Europe more than two months after it came out in the US. It's hard to give a fighting game a chance when nobody's playing the game anymore. For the record: When I bought Ultimax on day one, there were about thirty players in the lobby and I wasn't even able to find someone for ranked matches.
...huh

I'm reading this, and just thinking like 'is this guy living in the same world as me?' I've never seen Persona 4 Golden advertised in the UK. I only know it exists because of GAF Vita game recommendation threads. This is all just super odd. I mean, I like the idea of them wanting to expand here, and widely advertise and whatever, it all sounds great. But I don't see it. Did they accidentally interview a Hiraoka from a parallel universe maybe?

I still remember that I was so happy to read that interview back when it first came out, but alas, nothing came out of it (so far, at least). It hit all the right cords, but looking back it from today's perspective everything about sounds like satire.

I mean... was P4G advertised in the US either? There were no commercials, and while they did run a small bit of internet advertising, it wasn't a big campaign.

The nicest thing I can say about how P4G and Ultmax were handled here is they're easy enough to find in stores. Never seen any marketing or anything like that for either of them.

I think Q was playable at some UK event, does that count as marketing?

Dude, chill out!

This is nothing unexpected at all! You make it seem like this is an exclusively Atlus based thing, it's not! I can count numerous titles from a multitude of companies that have issues being released in Europe. It's far from a quick fix!

Yes, a lot of title of different companies have such delays on some games, but do you know any other company where every single game gets at least 3 month delay for an untranslated US -> PAL release? And especially, a company that is more or less getting worse at it if you look at the mean delay time during PS2 era and nowadays (which goes against the trend in every single other company... except maybe Sega, ironically)?

AtlusUSA consists of 14 or so people in the entire team. They aren't as big as you might think they are.

So no, I don't think the fault squarely lies with Atlus. Ever since they are acquired by SEGA, to me it makes much more sense that SEGA should have given Atlus titles more support in European countries instead of European fans having to rely on NIS and what's not.

Then again, I'm not an expert in game publishing, so these are just purely talk from me.

I'm also not sure how the size is that relevant when we are not talking about self publishing, but about planning to publish in PAL regions ahead of time, and have someone else do it. But even then, I'm not sure NIS America are that much bigger than Atlus USA, and they manage just fine to publish some Atlus games on top of their own, so...

Well, anyway, quick question regarding the digital release: is the PS4 like the PS2 classic games on PS3, where if you purchase them on one account, other accounts on the same console can access it too?
I'd guess not, but doesn't hurt to ask.

This is pretty much my headcannon too.
Labrys and Yu went up to the top of the tower and fought Kagutuschi off, saved the data, and Yu reedemed Sho while he still had his snarky tsundere dialogue with Labrys.

This would have been miles better than how Yu and Adachi take the spotlight, when the plot is focused around Labrys learning what friendship is and how to interact with others

If it weren't for SEGA's financial report, I would have no reason to believe that Persona 5 is hitting Japan in 2015. Let alone the rest of the world.

I'm still not convinced in an NA 2015 release date. Not until I see footage of the game in English and the date is still on. :\

I'm right there with ya.

I thought there would be more fanfare with the great reception of P4G and P5's original trailer.

PERSONA 5 SPECULATION TIME. YE WHO WISH TO REMAIN IGNORANT OF THE TRAILERS AND SCREENSHOTS CLICK NO FURTHER.

I've mentioned the different dates in the trailers and screenshots before, but I suspect that there must be multiple attempts through a dungeon like Persona 3 and Persona 4. The latest trailer has new footage occurring on 4/11, which is different than the earlier released screenshots that were 4/28. So I don't think the 4/11 date is a placeholder date anymore. More then that, the new dates are consistent with Yukiko's Castle in Persona 4, which starts on 4/11 and ends on 4/29. Also, the layouts of the enemies seem to change between the 4/28 screenshots and the 4/11 footage. Perhaps maybe the placement of enemies changes on each day of the game?

An element that switches up more than just walls and rooms but actual tilesets would be pretty cool

They can release P5 here in 2019 if they want to, I'm still not gonna wait for the Euro release. I've learnt by now that if you want an Atlus title on time, you import.
PQ was an anomaly.

It'd be cool if we had Atlus support that was both good and consistent, but oh well.

I'm thinking with the general heist theme going on, the enemy patterns will definitely change. I'm also thinking the cooperation system might have something to do in regards to the intel you get before an attempt.

Also....
Pretty sure Persona 5 takes place in 2016. Because 4/11 is a Monday in real life, and a Monday in game too.

PQ was the most recent "major" release though, right? Maybe they'll step up
and it'll be Q1 2016?

I paid the fox but all he did for me was heal my characters. My SP was still depleted. I might need to just die and reset my stuff so I can fill up on healing items.

The really boring way to do it would be to spam the SOS button (top left corner when connected online), get into a fight with a weak monster on the first floor of the first dungeon, get a tiny tiny bit of your HP and SP recovered this way, escape and repeat.

But I think you're better off reverting back a week. Probably will save you time in the end.

Accounts on PS4 work the same was as on PS3, so yes.

Beat the boss (thanks guys) on floor 59. and have continued on my quest to conquer Persona 3: FES :p

Anyway I have a question:
Right now I'm at lvl 5 SL with Yuko (girl from Kendo team) and it says we are getting intimate. Does that mean we'll romance soon, I mean can I max that SL without romancing her?
I mean she is the only romance I had available but maybe I don't want to date her but still want her S-Link

I'm pretty sure that in P3 if you max most female S.Link you'll romance them no matter what. you don't get the choice.

I've been thinking they'll go for a conventional mix of random and puzzle stages (as in: three procedurally generated stages followed by one carefully designed puzzle/stealth section with a mini boss that can be skipped once you've completed it once). But I like your idea better. Anything that bridges the disconnect between the social part of the game and the dungeons would be a big plus.

Do they get angry if I romance them all? On each other or me?

In general, you don't want to be working on more than 2 female social links at a time in FES, and you NEVER want to have two romantic at the same time. One has to be focused on first to max, then you can finish the other. Bad things happen if you try to even social link with someone you're intimate with if you're also that way with someone else. At rank 10, everything just ends with the link.

In other words, love 'em and leave 'em, you dirtbag.

Issue of the fact that I'd be worried about being murdered in my sleep aside, that Labrys actually looks pretty accurate.

The only part that bugs me is the hair.

Its TOO blue, isnt it supposed to be a silvery metallic type of blue and not bright aqua?

I always wanted to see one of those things, how would it actually work? Fighting with personas would be kinda awkard to portray no?

Actually they work that very well , in my opinion.

They mimic the physical fight in stage and with a large screen use visual effects for personas or enemies (like weird shadows or shadow bosses) , or course look silly compare to the game , but for me looks cool in the same time

I think this video explains it better

Actually in Youtube are a lot of videos of the stage plays (P4 visualive & P3 Weird Masquerade) if someone is curious about those.

This was actually way better than I expected, I loved that they acted out the little bit that happens after you finish a battle. Narukami's posing at the end was also badass.

Anyway, I still want to see how an 1v1 fight plays out. that has to look a bit more wonky right?

Edit: I just watched the
Adachi fight
, oh boy, I'm pretty sure that this is the best thing I've ever seen.

I can back up the fact that the P4D OST & ADVANCED CD are both amazing.

There are some bad or lackluster remixes, but there are some great ones and new songs too - and the ADVANCED CD has long versions of some of the best remixes in the game.

Seriously, the Shinichi Osawa remix of "Pursuing my True Self" is amazing, and the ADVANCED CD doubles its length for the long version.

If you can, support them by buying the CDs, it's 80 tracks of good tracks and great remixes.

By "doubles its length" do you mean that there's additional parts of the song that we haven't heard, or that the track literally repeats itself? Curious about that.

The longer versions add new parts, but the new parts are (obviously) instrumental.

There's a new Reach remix though, and it's badass.
