Please release this in 2016. I want to be in the first wave of playing both X and P5 and putting both of those out in the same month-ish timeframe is video game suicide for me.

They have, you're right -- and I still believe P5 will make it in 2015 in Japan. I am not confident that they're simultaneously localizing the game for a North American release this year, though. It sounds to be much larger in scale than any project they've ever worked on and these remarks suggest that they're not very far in localization. I really don't think they will release in two territories at the same time. I still think we're looking at February or March 2016 for a NA release.
That being said, I would be absolutely delighted to be proven wrong. It's just a hunch that grows stronger and stronger.
edit: Well then! atlusprime comes in and drops the hammer. I stand corrected.

We appreciate it.
We're all just itching for some information, and Atlus Japan has been incredibly reluctant to share even the slightest bit of info. I'm sure you guys would love to give us a more concrete answer, but we get that the US branch is still under rules from head office.
So I think that what we can all take from this post is that, at the very least, the game is going to come out by the end of 2015, and I hope the amount of complaints from the fanbase will motivate Atlus Japan to consider their western fans more often from now on.

I don't really think it will be a simultaneous release either, I'm mostly surprised that Japan hasn't announched their release date yet.
If both came out in 2015 (like atlusprime confirmed again) without simultaneous release it could mean that Japan does something funky. Like announces the release date a month or two before it comes out, which is crazy, but it's Atlus so who knows.
But more the JP release date announcement gets pushed the more I'm starting to believe in a chance that they're actually doing it and releasing the game (about) same time in US and JP.

It doesn't have a Japanese release date yet. I can't see a release date sooner than October for Japan, and I can't see localization taking less than 3 months which already puts it out of the range. This isn't a case where it's just been release in Japan and we don't have a NA date, we have no date anywhere.
The dream lives on *0* (for the US anyway, as a European I have no hope lol)
some people were speculating that the reason we haven't heard a date yet is because it's going to be a worldwide release.

Maybe, but personally I'm guessing Famitsu for JP release date (before TGS), and US date in a blog or something more casually after that (even if the dates were close to each other).
SMT IV took 2 months, so I don't see this as an impossibility.
Ah, I completely forgot about the existence of PS3 version. That makes sense then.
Simultaneous release, or atleast days or weeks of each other i think is feasible.
The trailer stuff i think is Japan just being Japan. They expect westerners to see the Japanese trailers, not localized ones. It took them months to bring a localized english trailer of the first gameplay one to E3

The comments are piecemeal, but it does kind of give that impression that localization hasn't really kicked into gear. Granted, that's apparently back from June.

They haven't shown much anything from the JP version either, but that's just Atlus being Atlus. Believe.
Does worldwide mean Europe too? Sega could publish it.
