Phil Spencer interviewed on the GameSpot Show

Who is the British conspiracy nut proclaiming that's Destiny 2 can run at 60 fps on XOX according to the "technical specifications" and is only 30 fps because of a marketing deal?

I hadn't heard anything about this rumor. Pretty bold claim to put out there though

I noticed that immediately lol.

Scorpio / Xbox One X doesn't have enough CPU power to go from 30fps to 60fps in most games, right? Including Destiny 2. - I almost doubt its a 'parity' clause with Sony and even if there is a parity issue, Xbox One X probably doesn't have enough extra CPU performance to do that anyway.

Sony better not be buying up parity lol. MS was accused of it at the start of the gen and it never happened, hopefully it doesn't now. 3rd parties themselves shouldn't sign those deals either, the usual exclusivity stuff is more than enough.

If Sony was buying up parity they wouldn't have let the original Destiny look identical to the one on Xbox One, when the PS4 had a significant power advantage, just some gamespot idiot pulling that from his ass.

One thing's for sure. He sure talks a good game. Awesome figure head for MS.

Edit: Awesome timeline, great post!

Better than Don. MUCH better

He's far better than Don was at PR, but on the other hand their first party output was very impressive at the beginning of this gen while it has decreased year-on-year since then. This should be the key concern for any console, and while their other initiatives are commendable they really need to do something about the meagre first-party output.

The one guy made way too many assumptions about destiny. Just because game has a advertising deal doesn't mean the game is gimped.

Dragon age and Witcher 3 both were Xbox deals yet ran better on PS4.

VR is off the tables completely now or something? Which i highly doubt, they had Fallout 4 VR in their show last year in that trailer.
Like I said, he didn't commit one way or another, which I would say is a bad sign.

Last time we heard, they had said VR wasn't coming this year, they were focusing their attention to their Windows VR platform, and if they do console VR it will be wireless (which in my estimation could be years away.)

So basically no further first party announcements until they're ready.

And after Scalebound nobody should be surprised by that. The games take time to build.. I am confident he knows its a pain point they have to correct. I would have rather they not close down so many studios that had good track records but he has to know by now that not only do you need games... the ones announced can not become vaporware.

Think what a Fable 4 announcement (or new IP all together) would have done at the end of that... would have changed everything from a perception stand point.

Props for both btw. I dont follow Gamespot alot anymore. But the questions were on point.
Great interview. Maybe i should follow them abit more.
