Phillip W. Spencer III:"Xbox’s aim with Call of Duty is to give players choice, not "do slimy platform things" that make one option more appealing."

Why is he closing studios for the sake of the business if according to him whilst gloating to Shaggy in the interview, it’s all rosey .

You watch that interview, it’s so phoney and scripted. His answer to closing down Tango

“So we can have more shows like this one “

That’s a slimy answer in itself.

The truth is he’s far more outspoken than other executives in the business yet the others let their content do the talking.

He questioned the notion about building great games to see momentum shift last year and now he’s bragging about great games.

If this horrible reign of his is going to continue, can we get to a point where they do the same and the games do the talking for them??

Don’t people in the Industry see through this guy?

For as much as I don’t like Ryan you could see in brief moments he wasn’t too impressed in what he was hearing whilst reading the script on the laptop.

L take if ever I've seen one.

First of all, the issue was tied to Activision ID, so it was account level with the game. If your Activision account is tied to PSN, you can turn it off, not so on Xbox, because of the "feature" being exclusive to PS on console. Has nothing to do with global level Xbox cross platform abilities whatsoever.

Annnnnd lest we forget, it was Microsoft that spearheaded cross platform play on console to begin with, and Sony only begrudgingly complied after a very public and protracted period of being execrated by it's own community.
Sad Baby GIF

Nothing at all to do with Sony.
But, please carry on.

Phil the good guy lies so much he actually believe what he says. Also, with all the lies and spins that he has been doing, this guy gives zero fuck or respect to the people that buy his products. To him, the so call gamers are a bunch of idiots who will believe and defend whatever bullshit he spits out.

The only thing this used car salesman gives a shit about is his "career moments".
Remember his thoughts about acquiring Nintendo?

What does MS possibly gain from a statement like this at this time? The casual audience will never see it. And the enthusiasts will instantly decry the hypocrisy of it.

On second thought, what has this guy really done that was good for MS period?
Weird timing, especially after a universally well received showing. If ever it was a time to let the games have the spotlight, as opposed to him. This was the time.

Oh, I know. No more Phil worshipping 24/7.

He's been showing his ass over the years, and by golly, it must suck for the cult of personality latchlings.

I was just thinking of that the other day when this post went up. How, not so long ago, you couldn't say a bad word (ie. make a valid criticism) about Phil without being jumped by multiple posters. Now, there's still some hold-outs, but it's great to see most people can clearly see him for what he is.

Fucking Sony.

You are conflating two very different things.

Xbox cross platform works on literally every other game, as evidenced by your own post, lmao. It is a global toggle. This toggle does not work on Warzone unless your Activision ID is tied to PSN...including on an Xbox console. This is well known within the Warzone community. Not a secret, not an erroneous accusation.

Helluva gotcha there, pal :ROFLMAO:

Imagine if Sony was in Microsoft's position. How would that play out? Past practice is one thing, but if Sony owned all of those studios, today it would all be exclusive to Sony's console. for at least a year. There would be twice as many money hats too. Let's be real. CoD would have several exclusive missions and maps.

Great idea! Lets play out imaginary scenarios, I did this when I was 7.

In 10 years Phil Spencer has become a thumb, fat and balding... dude, he prefers sucking the Microsoft money tit than his own health

It's a policy, you need to turn it off in the settings on the console. Same with every other Xbox cross-play game. Fucking Sony.

Phil is generous like that.

He owns the damn thing but won’t punish anyone for playing on other platforms.

Sony doesn’t own a lot of ips yet don’t allow them to even come to Xbox. Beyond slimy.

It's just Phil "salesman" Spencer trying to sell you more nonsense. After a decade of his marketing bullshit I have come to accept his PR speak for what it is: a constant stream of "we hear you" crap without any action that actually follows that otherwise meaningless statement. And now they're suddenly not doing console-exclusive content anymore and even calling the exact thing they've been doing for over two decades "slimy"? So done with this.

Who is going to tell him that Phil’s first move was to take COD exclusive after 3 years?

I don’t think any of you realize how much you are in love with this man… nothing else would make so many have such strong feelings.

Kinda like a domestic abuse case where the victim develops strong feelings toward the abuser and can’t leave..

If you actually think that Phil Spencer is releasing COD on more platforms out of the kindness of his heart and not to increase revenue to keep the shareholders happy, then his brainwashing PR speak bullshit is working as intended.

He isn't even doing that with Doom. Why would he with CoD? Either way, Phil has been in charge for 10 years and Sony has done more money hats in the last couple of years than he's done in the last 10. Hasn't every game gone to PC and/or Nintendo and Sony in the last 10 years? If Phil and MS did everything in their power to prop up Xbox, it would SUCK. Funny that haters will say Phil was the downfall of Xbox but if he wasn't allowing Xbox games to go day 1 to PC, and allow Minecraft on Switch/PS5, etc. it would be a raw deal for gamers overall. Let's continue to feign ignorance when it comes to what Sony would do with MS money.
