The original post here is extremely bizarre to me. I was expecting a real comparison of the tech, not bad cell phone snaps of a tv! The images aren't even color corrected. One image isn't even in focus! What is the point of the images? You really cannot make anything close to an informed buying decision from a poor photo of a tv, even a good photo wouldn't be good. The links are useful for people looking to buy, but there is no discussion of the actual comparison of the technology types.
To make a contribution to the actual topic however, OLED. I have had a plasma for a good 6 years or so and I'm glad I bought it. The image is better than all my LCD's (of various types) I have not had a burn in at all (I enabled the protective technologies and have it auto shut-off after a while). OLED is even better and I'm going to replace an LCD that I am disappointed with (that I actually use for the desktop I'm typing on, as well as some consoles), with an OLED. I like the LG 4k flat sets. I checked it out in Best Buy and loved the image quality. Just need that price to come down or my salary to go up. Outside of cost, the only functional benefit that the LCD systems have is better resistance to image retention (burn in), according to some reports I've come across by current owners that have had it happen to them.
