I have found a 98K in a cabin but that may have been early access loot table bullshit and not intended as I've only ever found one and never optics. Was it ever determined if any (non-supply crate exclusive) loot has a chance to spawn anywhere, or is some stuff only restricted to certain types of buildings? Obviously it makes logical sense to go where more loot spawn areas are, but wondering if shit like a Kar98k with 8x can technically spawn in a fuckboi cabin, even if the odds are astronomically low.

Anyone use shadowplay with PUBG? Thinking about turning it on but I've never used it before - wondering if it has much of an effect on FPS. Does the instant replay recording length you have set affect how much it hits your framerates?
As long as you have a compatible GPU, you shouldn't have any real performance hit. The bottleneck would mostly be coming from the drive (write speed) you're recording to since it's what's constantly being written to.
I thought that was the case already. I've learned I can sometimes tank the barrier and heal with a medkit, but last night I was in the top 10 and died very quickly from full health in the barrier before I could make one of the really tiny circles.Anyone else wish the barrier did more damage the smaller it is? Too many times I get shot when the barrier is super small because someone was sitting behind it and tanking it.

While we're asking questions about game mechanics, is there any gameplay point to the following besides visibility?
- Hats (e.g. baseball hat)
- Pants / shirts / padded jackets
- Protective glasses
- Boots
- Ballistic / gas mask
I'm guessing not, but for all I know there is some tiny additional amount of protection if you wear a padded jacket.
I wish I could snipe someone. I've found sniper rifles a few times, but I've VERY rarely ended up with both a sniper rifle and a 4x or higher scope.I hope we get a map in the future that isn't sniper friendly. Every single game just comes down to a bunch of people hiding behind a tree sniping each other and it's boring. Getting up close and personal is so much more interesting.
A practice mode would be probably the most welcome addition for me. I have similar issues with sniping and just shooting from a distance - I don't get experience enough with it to really figure out zeroing distances properly with different scopes, and when I do get the opportunity I give it up to my more experienced friends rather than missing a ton of shots and giving away our position.
I just realized this game has a built-in feature for assholes.
I got matched with a random duo who was screaming racial slurs into the mic. I acted normal until the first building, picked up an assault rifle, and immediately teamkilled him. Checked and balanced.
I feel like the internet can be summed up pretty accurately in the plane and in the pre-game lobby. It's basically like reddit/4chan threw up in a video game lobby.

Are online shooters really the concentrated essence of garbage human beings? Most likely.
I kind of wish first-person-only became mandatory, since third-person leads to so many weird situations where you can scout impossible view lines.

Is there a way to turn off Prox chat? It seems lately if I get killed someone spouts out some random racial or some sexist slur for no reason.
Yes, under sound, at the bottom, switch voice channel to none. Say goodbye to all voice chat in game. Or set to squad only or whatever the wording is.

Yeah I really hope for some FPS only servers down the road. It'll be a very different game. Way more intense too.

I think it would just be very unclear when your guy has line of sight or not and therefore whether there's actually nobody in a given place or if it's just your character model whose direct line of sight is blocked. Without any visible fog of war, that is, at which point I think going first person may just be the more comfortable option. It's undoubtedly more work to implement and test, but the idea went through my head -- why not have the best of both worlds? Keep third person, but players will be invisible unless your character actually has line of sight to them. Bam, all the comfort and fun of third person gameplay but none of the weird third person camera spying.
they need to add a FOV slider for FP view before they add FP servers imo. it's way too narrow
