Dang, got top 2 out of 4 in duos and had almost perfect circle luck, but the good teammate who was carrying me got 1-shot peeking down a hill and my UMP only got 15/20 on the person who rushed me. :(

Some day I'll finally get that duo win.

Just gotta work on that final circle positioning. In the last 15 people I try to take note of any enemy position I can. I try to figure out each of their most probable moves. Try to get the high ground, try to get defidale from as many degrees of fire as possible. Some people like to say that silencer are worthless on endgame, but they can make a huge difference. It is still hard to pinpoint a person with a silencer. Try to grab those from enemy bodies.

The issue was I couldn't peek over the hill or I'd get shot peeking, and when they charged I didn't kill quickly enough. I think if I'd tried a M416 with full auto instead of UMP with full auto I might have done enough damage.

Man searching no recoil macros is a rabbit hole.

First result and first comment is people saying Grimmz cheats and uses those specific no recoil macros.

People who use cheats might as well not play the game. I don't see the point.

Btw, I struggled so hard with my aiming but adjusting the different sliders to my personal liking worked wonders! Especially zoomed sensitivities were waaay to high in their 50 state. Now I should be able to do even headshots if I try hard enough. Wouldn't have been possible with the default settings.

poopieQueen - Today at 15:53 Hi @everyone

My name is Sammie Kang, Lead Community Manager for PUBG. During the last few weeks, I have been getting message after message from the members of OCE community about FPP. I'm aware that the community wants FPP in OCE servers and I'm deeply sorry that we haven't been able to share any updates or feedback on the topic until now.

I've heard that OCE players are playing FPP on NA or ASIA servers and would like to play on a better environment. I fully understand the frustration.

I've said it on Twitter but the truth is, current player base in OCE is too small for us to add another game mode. We actively monitor data from different servers and game modes on a regular basis. Even if we consider players who are playing on other servers, the number is so small that it could mean (1) increased matchmaking time or (2) a small number of players in every session which can both result in negative player experience. For other regions, the number of active players was much larger which means there will be a number of active sessions filled with enough players throughout the day.

However, we are currently looking into a solution and investigating to see if what could be done. We are still in the middle of the process which is why I have not been able to make any official statement.

OCE community is one of the most passionate communities I've seen so far. I love and respect how everyone has been supportive and enthusiastic about PUBG. We would not want to upset the community but it takes us some time to fully analyze the current situation and see if we can come up with a solution or not.

I'd like to ask for your patience and consideration as our team continues to investigate. I apologize for not addressing the issue earlier. And I'm sorry if this is disappointing but I'm doing my best to find what can be done.

I will provide an update when we have further details about this matter.

Best, Sammie

While I don't doubt their reasoning, but it will give them alot of bad press for it. Damned if they do, damned if they don't kind of situation here.

But its true, if there is not many players and you add 3 more queues there its gonna be really long queue times etc. (look at titanfall2 on pc with too many gamemodes)

I guess 1 thing they could do is just combine all TPP and FPP (solo, duo and squad) to 1 queue (so 2 queues total) but then again that would be not very fair.

Yes like I said, I don't fault them for not adding 3 more queues. These games last 30mins+, imagine being the one dude who didn't make it into that one foot solo game at 5am. You'd join a lobby with 5 other people and the game won't start for another 30 minutes.

i really do not get this game.
I am an avid 1st / 3rd shooter player. love them, but i bought a PC to just play PUBG. It is an excellent game. loads of fun but i am shit. i mean i have some chicken dinners but i was carried for the most part. i just cannot get used to the mouse keyboard thing. but whereas with a console game id just quit and never play i am addicted to this game.

I have the same problems! Try adjusting the sensitivity sliders for the different aiming methods and scopes until you feel more confident! Helped me a lot even though I'm still bad, haha. I also use the screen zoom to the max (120%) so I can actually see a thing on my small monitor. I feel more connected to the action that way.

I'm mostly overwhelmed by the many keyboard options...I can't seem to find a good leftie layout. Running while tabing also does simply not work with the cursor keys. It works fine with wasd but I can't use that, of course.

It took me quite a while to get used to mouse and keyboard back when I switched to PC after a decade or so of exclusively playing on console, but you get used it. It's frustrating not being able to do things as quickly as you were able to do with a controller, but it's definitely worth it in the end. For keyboard it's basically just a matter of keeping at it, but regarding the mouse you can try lowering the sensitivity. A lot of people play with an insanely high sensitivity which is fine for looking around, but for actually aiming it's very unwieldy.

The gunplay is oddly difficult to be proficient at. It's supposed to be like a milsim. So don't get down on yourself. Iv played close to 1500hrs in battlefield on PC, and a bunch of other shooters on PC, but it still took me about 125 hrs to feel confident with the guns. Your controller skill will eventually transfer, mine did.

Edit, lower your dpi, 400 is what I use. Sometimes I'll switch to 800 to loot quicker in uncontested areas where we're safe.

1. 99% of the time I see somebody switch from console to PC shooters, they have their mouse sens turned up way too high and don't know how to aim using their arm rather than their wrist.

2. I can't think of many console games with the type of shooting mechanics that exist in PUBG. Unless you played Arma II mods or possibly CS you're missing out on some things.

Hah, Solo dinner finally! Circle was definitely in may favour but I'm happy that I made the best of it.

Next step: a squad dinner where I'm not being carried...

I feel like an M416 / M16A4 does like 25% health if I'm lucky for single shot so I've been trying to use the AKM for the chance at a kill before someone just hides. What's the headshot damage for M-series rifles with a level 2-3 helmet?

The 5.56 rifles deals 41 damage, headshot multiplier is 2.5 (iirc) a lvl 2 helmet absorbs 40% so a headshot should deal 60'ish damage.

Level 1 helmet:
41*2.5*0.7 = 71.75

Level 2 helmet:
41*2.5*0.6 = 61.5

level 3 helmet:
41*2.5*0.45 = 46.125

The AK is only marginally better at 48 damage
Level 1 helmet:
48*2.5*0.7 = 84

level 2 helmet:
48*2.5*0.6 = 72

level 3 helmet:
48*2.5*0.45 = 54

The only way to one shot someone with a lvl 2 helmet and full health is with k98 or stronger rifle. If they have only used a first aid kit an SKS or up will do it (this is why you should ALWAYS top up health to full).

*edit*

If it makes you feel any better, I think I've literally never gotten stuck in terrain, had my parachute not open, nor had an auto weapon not fire auto in like 140 hours played. It may be hard to reproduce so that's why it's tough to fix.

On the other hand, I've definitely had the parachute thing where it glitches on a tree, asks me to cut it 2 feet above the ground, then teleports me to the drop of the tree and drops me for an instant KO once I cut it.

Same here, I have very few deaths that occur because of a bug or similar. But a lot of that is down to learning the game and avoiding the places where you die because of a bug or "shoddy" game design. For example learning how to jump over low walls and which walls you cannot jump over will save you countless deaths that will otherwise feel like its because of bad design. Same with cars, you learn to be careful when jumping in and out of cars to avoid exploding or accidentally running yourself over.

Anyone else feel like the no recoil macros are becoming more rampant? Getting two tapped by m16s from 300+ meters is becoming more and more common. Meanwhile I watch amazing players like ninja who almost never two tap anyone.

The M16 is a beast at long range, easily outclassing all the other assault rifles especially with a compensator fitted. Put that on semi auto and just tap tap tap away and you will absolutely murder the shit out of people at long range. The only weapon that would come close is a fully kitted M416 (with stock, grip, compensator)

Played my first solo in a while and got top three, I really made a rookie mistake of pushing out the final circle to look for other people, I was getting cocky as I was killing 5 people heading to the last showdown.

Game is still such a rush even after 85 hours.

Default setting for shadowplay doesn't record your mic but records sounds from the game and other apps basically.

does anyone play with a xbox one controller with this,if so what are the advantages
disadvantages in doing so

Advantages: 0, maybe possibly driving cars.
Disadvantages: everything else

Gameplay wise that is, comfort and familiarity is another matter. I can't really see any situation where you wont get absolutely wrecked with a controller in PUBG with the way recoil and aiming works.

Like... do you ever use a mouse and keyboard on your computer? :p Never played an RTS? It really isn't all that different from that. Just turn down the sensitivity a lot. Or wait for that xbox version but you are missing out man, there are so many FPS games that just play better on a mouse and keyboard, especially now that mobility is back in vogue. Double jumping over people and shooting with good accuracy in TF2, Destiny 2, Doom etc is just a completely different experience with a mouse. It really isn't hard, but I suspect if you only ever played shooters on a console there are other things that trip you up rather than the mouse. Stuff like lack autoaim, more recoil and the speed of other players.

PUBG is primarily a positional shooter, twitch shooting is important but it is much more important to have superior positioning and situational awareness to win a fight. This might make it possible to play with a controller but even being terrible with a mouse will quickly improve you past what you perform with a controller.

TL;DR: Turn down mouse sensitivity so you need to lift the mouse to turn 360 and just play.

I wish I had a clip of this one.

I was outside of a building and got shot twice in the head while moving and went down (lvl 2 helm). My buddy got me up, I went inside and picked up a lvl 2 helmet, looked out the window, and got twice more in the helmet from the same guy. Buddy got me up again, I tried re-positioning around a tree outside for a flank. The exact moment I peaked out I got shot in the face and went down a third, and last, time.

The dude did not miss 5 headshots and even prefired me on a new point. This guy isn't a pro (nobody name), isnt a streamer that plays all day, and is in the upper 10,000s in rank. He is either a god at this game or cheating. I know they only hit my head because my helmet was the only thing hit and it was destroy in two hits each time.

When I sit there and watch Ninja and Shroud miss shots at long range with ARs and take 4-5 bullets to kill someone it makes me think "cheater" when I am downed in two or three while sprinting from 400 meters away. That isn't two or three shots hitting out of 10. Thats only three shots fired all hit and I am downed wearing lvl 2.

This isn't happening in 1 game or anything. Its happening about every 4th death that isn't related to the stupid shotguns. Maybe its desync but I honestly cant fathom why I would have such bad latency when every speed test I do puts me sub 50ms ,usually sub 40ms!, anywhere in the united states. Dunno, maybe my characters head is just fucking huge in game or something.

Landing headshots on someone who doesn't know where you are is pretty easy when they peek around cover. But yes there are always "suspicious" deaths but in my 350+ hours of playing the game (on EU) have never felt like i got killed by a cheater. The only weird case was 2 teammates getting shot out of a car but what they claimed was 3 shots, but they recorded it and you could easily hear 10-15 shots when watching it after the fact.

Edit: Like I have done exactly what you describe to people, some rounds you are just on point and the next round you play like absolute shit and don't hit anything. I knocked down the same guy 3-4 times in as many shots with a k98 and a 4x and he kept being revived in cover and trying to run away, the next round i had a fully kitted SKS with an 8x and whiffed 30+ shots and was carried hard by teammates.

Like I'm not denying there might be cheaters but people are generally very quick to jump to that conclusion when they get shot a bunch of times quickly. If you feel something weird happened, use the report button and try to record video and review after the fact.

Google PUBG no recoil and prepare to get really pissed off. I wont post links here.

AFAIK they can't get banned for these either since its using Logitech and Razer software.

Just looked them up and saw a youtube video demonstrating them. maaaaaaaaan FUCK THAT.

Not that its super relevant to a "new" player but if you look at any pro CS player or similar you will notice they all have these huuuuge mouse mats and typically play at half the sens that you consider low. If you can turn a full 360 degrees with one pull of the mouse you are probably playing at twice the sense you should even consider be for a game like this.

Its all down to taste and familiarity but starting off low is better and you can slowly increase it until you find the right mix of accuracy and mobility.

One thing that people tend to miss when it comes to gamepad vs mouse is that gamepads tend to lower sens significantly when ADS'ing automatically and often have magnetic ADS so all you need to do is pointin the general direction hit ADS and it moves the x-hair to the target and then you have lower sense to correct the aim. While with a mouse you often want to use the same sense for everything that doesnt zoom in significantly so you can build muscle memory for the distance needed to move your x-hair a specific distance.

I am of a similar mindset when it comes to keyboard and mouse. I have had a gaming PC for the last 10 years and could just never get comfortable when trying to play with a keyboard. I would always find a way to get a controller working, even if a game didn't have native support (it took some time to learn it, but XPadder is awesome for these games).

When trying to play any type of shooter, however, I always felt like I was at a disadvantage due to my desire to use a controller. That is until one day when I had the idea to try a hybrid control option. At that time I owned a PS3 Move Navigation controller(the one that fits in one hand) and decided to try using that in my left hand for comfort and a mouse in my right for accuracy and speed of aiming. I quickly fell in love with this method because I could still quick snipe, and after customizing the controls to my comfort, I could kill with the best of them.

About 3 months ago when PUBG came out I did find myself wanting again, as there are just so many key bindings and the Navi only has a stick, d-pad and two buttons. This is when I decided to do a little more research. I figured that I couldn't possibly be the only person who likes to play this way and I really hoped that there would be an option that I had not seen before. After just a little bit of searching, I found what turns out to be THE PERFECT option!

photo-1024x768.jpg

The Grifta Solo was a controller designed and placed on Kickstarter by a father / Engineer who couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable his son was when he would try to play his PC games. It fits very comfortably in one hand, has a ton of customization options and I don't think I will ever have a desire for a different option. This thing combined with XPadder has allowed me to map every single key binding I need onto a comfortable, one-handed controller that allows me to still use a mouse for aiming. If you look closely at the pictures, you will see it has a swappable D-pad, and a rear trigger assembly that is simply genius!

If you have a hard time playing with Keyboard and mouse, or just would really like the comfort of a controller while still maintaining PC-elite accuracy, I can not suggest this controller enough. If it comes back into stock on Amazon, I was able to pick it up for $35 and it has held up incredibly well for these past 3 months. I just hope it continues to stay durable.

Here's a CNET video showing it off. Features Jeff Canata and some reporter lady from Mass Effect/

Astro A40s.

I have the TR edition which comes with the mixamp for $250. Using Razer's Virtual Surround software I get amazing sound and pinpoint accuracy for footsteps. Its pretty uncanny. The astros and mixamp wont give you 5.1 or 7.1 out of the box unless you partner them with a soundcard or software. Even then it will be "Virtual surround" since the headphones aren't actually surround sound. They sound incredible and are super comfortable though.

Any regular stereo headset will do, if you just want them for PUBG, since the game's sound is pure trash and stereo only.

I play left handed (even though I'm a righty...always have).

I have a mouse with extra buttons on both sides which definitely helps. I use one of them for jump and another for putting away my gun for faster sprinting. I assign the middle mouse button to bring up the map.

On the keyboard, everything I need is very close to the arrow keys.

CTRL - sprint
SHIFT - look around
Keypad 0 - crouch (w/ pinkie)
Key to the right of Keypad 0 - prone (this one is slightly more awkward)
ENTER - pick things up; enter/exit vehicle
Backslash (above ENTER) - inventory (this used to be map for me but I accidentally hit ENTER and killed myself exiting a vehicle one too many times so I changed it)
BACKSPACE - boost item
6 keys above the arrow keys - reload, fire mode, hold breath, and using the 3 healing items. Reload is the key directly above the up arrow so I can hit it very quickly.

There's your problem, you either need a gimmick like Doc (athletic power) or Grimmz (DMCAing people) or you need to wallow in the muck.

You want a true surround headset.
I just moved from a virtual surround to a true surround and it's a whole different world.
I got the Snakebyte Python 7500R. This is the cheapest true surround headset I could find (I wasn't looking to spend $150-200 ;-) ) so there are probably sets with better sound quality. But if you're looking for sound quality, you shouldn't be looking for a true surround set anyway because it requires multiple drivers which thus will be smaller than in stereo headsets.

I only encountered a few true surround headsets during my research:
Snakebyte Python 7500R
Asus Strix 7.1
The Razer Tiamat 7.1
Triton Pro+ 5.1

If you want to research any further, please be aware that a lot of headsets are advertised with surround and even '7.1' while they're only virtual surround. The specs of the real ones will always tell you how many drivers they contain. If they only have 2 in total or 1 per ear, it's a stereo headset with virtual surround. True surround will always have 3 drivers or more per ear.
And the difference between true and virtual surround is real and big, I can now say from experience.
