I don't see how it would be bunker level news unless the Xbone was One Million units up on the PS4 in the US. But that is totally unlikely. If the Xbone was +200,000 LTD in the US. Then so what?

I really don't understand the appeal of the PS4 at this moment, the motivations of the buyers, but it was already the case for the very successful PS2, 14 years ago... Congrats Sony, I guess.

Any shift in power is considered big news around here. And I agree that it would be noteworthy.

Not really since it's been fully expected by pretty much everyone that the Xbox One would sell more in March. MS went on a big marketing push, had bundles and stores were doing deals left and right. There was really none of that from Sony aside from pushing inFamous.

Assuming bish isn't joking, it's probably safe to assume that it's either the Xbox One's total sells are now ahead of the PS4 in the US or the PS4 outsold the Xbox One in March. Those are the two scenarios that would cause the most chaos. I actually think the Xbox One being ahead now is the more likely scenario.

Wouldn't that mean something like 750k Xbox Ones would have been sold to make that realistic?

It surely has to be, if xboxone isnt ahead now i dont know what ms could do to bring it around, its been a massive push behind titanfall stores doing deals and ps4 not fully in supply its now or never for xboxone.

Probably PS4 outsold X1 even during Titanfall launch and the price promotions, although if X1 still sold well I suppose MS will be pleased still. Obviously console gaming is far from finished which is great news whoever "wins".

I looked at the Prediction thread and only about 2/3 have 360 higher, not pretty much everyone.

*Target B2G1 free deal forced me to buy them all for resale because they ran out of other PS4 games.

I really don't think it's so far fetched that Infamous: Second Son would outsell Titanfall on the Xbone. Infamous is an established IP, and it was the thing a lot of people were waiting to get a PS4 for. Titanfall on the other hand is a new IP, and yes there was a lot of marketing, but I'd imagine most of the sales would be on the PC and 360. I really doubt there are all that many people who are going to buy a whole new console just to play a game, especially with it being available on the one they already have.

What I really want to know regarding Titanfall sales is how well they did on PC. Also, how well did Ground Zeros do and how much of the MGS fanbase has already moved on to the new consoles?

Meaningless to who? I think it's very meaningful. If Microsoft is able to sell enough consoles this month to actually pull ahead of Sony overall in NA, that speaks volumes to what things might look like moving forward too. It would be an important change in direction that needs to happen for Microsoft in its home territory.

It'd definitely have to be a lot. Looking at last gens NPD's, the highest March total during that generation was the Wii in 08 with 721k units. And that was when the Wii was in full force and stock issues had been worked out.

Damn, seeing Bish post that bunker pic really makes me want to see what the results are, just for the hilarity it will cause :)

I'm not a big NPD follower so i won't bother making predictions but if that bunker pic means a bomb is gonna go off it can only mean 2 things:

1)XBO sold so much they have taken the lead in US
2)PS4 outsold the XBO

Now it's of course possible that 1 could be technically true, I'm sure there are tonnes of XBO's sitting around ready for people to buy so stock wouldn’t limit them but from reading gaf I haven't seen anything to suggest that would be the case, I mean if it was selling so well I would have expected some threads on it being No1 on the amazon charts or some anecdotal evidence from retail workers etc. but as far as I can tell that hasn’t been the case.

Now if option 2 happens then the shit really will hit the fan because as lots of people have said they expect the XBO to win March due to Titanfall and the huge promotions, free copy in bundle, price drops from stores, better communication and updates from Microsoft (Updates etc.) which can't help but get some good press for them with some people.

Since I'm a Sony fan I of course would love to see 2 happen but I won't assume anything at this point because I could very easily be wrong. Either way it's gonna be interesting tomorrow morning when I wake up to the NPD results :)
