I wonder how BOTH consoles will meet the newer 2019 EU regulations, standby mode allows 2W, not 30W.

Instant resume standby does not meet EU 2W regulations or am I missing something ?
They can reach it by making the instant on an opt-in and keep the power usage at 0.5W or so in the default configuration (which means most will use the default).

How do I move all my PS4 game saves over to the PS5s?
Transfer the data from the PS4 to the PS5 via a local WiFi connection, while the second is to access one’s games library on the PS5, find their PS4 games, and download them (cloud saves). Also if you have an external drive you can just put them on there with the games.

damn. next week.

Going to sleep but before I do... as I noticed your username I couldn't stop to think of perhaps how surprised and happy you may become in 2021..........when Sony finally drops the curtain on a particular project that has been in the oven for such a long time. But well that's all I can say that the gentleman's agreement allows. And no it's not Mobile Suit Gundam but the imagination is there for you to explore in those themes.

Sony is gonna have a mecha game?!

Oct 30 I think. They're not selling them out now. Just stocking them on the shelves.

I went to my local Walmart yesterday just to see the gear. You know, you can't leave with it just look at it like animals at the zoo.
Brickseek showed 6+ units in stock.

Nothing in the cases. Walmart employees said, if it's not in the case, we don't have it here. I do not believe what he said, but, I can appreciate not putting out products you can't buy.

can I move my saves to a USB? my internet is super shitty so I'd prefer that over wifi.

You can move your PS4 saves to PS5 to use them in the PS4 backwards compatibility via PS Plus cloud save storage, via USB external storage (pendrive or external USB HDD or SSD) or via offline direct wifi connection from console to console.

These days I'm replaying GOW (NG+). Yesterday I noticed that the game had received a new update.
I checked online for patch notes and it was just stability and bug fixes.
Do you guys think they have added some code snippets to make it ready for PS5?
I read that GOW3: Remastered also received a patch recently.
Surely they will update the update the code for PS5, but why would those code additions be implemented in the present PS4 version?

Got a confirmation letter from my retailer that my PS5 is dropping on Nov. 19th. I'm still not convinced I'm gonna get one. I'll believe it when it's standing in my apartment all fired up.

Well I thought backwards compatibility meant that PS5 is running the current PS4 version of the game.
Developers can add extra features like for example unlocking framerates for the PS5 version, but this would have to be added to the present PS4 version in a patch if it's an older game.

Yeah, that's correct. I'm just speculating here, but I would imagine that the "base code" is the PS4 code, and that they will branch it out as a PS4 version and the enhanced PS5 version as two separate codes after that? I mean, if the PS5 version needs patching in the future, it doesn't make sense to me that the PS4 version would get the same patch necessarily.

But what to I know :)

Hopefully, I should be able to go to GAME on the 19th and get my PS5. Than run home to avoid any potential mob :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Yeah, I'm not familiar with the process either. My initial post was also just speculations as I found it strange that these old games got a patch just weeks before PS5 launch.

I'd love it if it was a new Armored Core, but I doubt it since From Software is busy with Elden Ring. I knew when George R. Martin was "blessing" the project, it was going to take years to come out.

Off topic but can't think of anywhere better to ask.

Does anyone know if US CD Keys PS4 game download codes will work in the UK? There's a big disclaimer that it will not but surely it will if I use a US PSN account?

Paid for my PS5 yesterday with Currys in the UK, i was in the second wave of pre-orders but i'm fairly confident i should be ok, got another 2 pre-orders as a backup with Very and Littlewoods.

Make a US PSN Account activate your PS4 on that account, redeem the code on that account, then any account on the PS4 will be able to play the games owned by that user, the PS5 should be the same.

Thanks, I thought so. I'm guessing if they encouraged people to make new accounts in other regions then they'd end up in Sony's bad books.

I make the analogy to PS4 Pro patches, are they applied to games installed on base PS4? I don't think so, then it would make more sense to apply enhancement patches just when the game is installed on PS5.

i am pretty sure Pro patches are applied to the normal PS4 version too (since they are same executable), but options and performances are hidden/selected based on what profile is running it (PS4 or Pro)

this is not facts, just as a software developer this would be most common sense way
