I live for this thread. Just beat some cross-dressing dude named Josh in hsg2 on the psp. I really need a vita.
If pac man came out for the vita i would pass out from excitement.
I'm actually considering doing a last minute preorder thanks to the amazon promotion that has WIFI vita at 230 with a free 8GB memcard, but I'm not sure which game to pick with it (sort of leaning toward Shinobido 2), since none of the launch game is a must buy for me.
Why couldn't Gravity Rush/Gravity Daze be a launch game?! =((

Patience was a virtue for me today. I had pre-ordered a WiFi Vita from Amazon and have been waiting for next Wednesday to arrive. For a bit there I was going back and forth on whether or not to get the FEB just because I wanted one pretty bad, but I was able to stay away. On Wednesday, when reading through all the posts here and impressions, I decided to check out Craigslist to see if anybody was already trying to sell theirs. There was one guy selling his BNIB FEB plus an un-opened ModNation Racers game for $350.
I instantly pegged him as a Taco Bell winner and briefly thought about sending him a text to buy it, but still decided not to and just wait, because I didn't need all the stuff that came with the FEB. I just happened to look again this morning and the same guy had knocked it down to $320. This told me he was looking to get rid of it, so I texted him and offered $300 cash today. He took it.
I met up with him in town and gave him $300 even for it. Brand new, still sealed FEB and a brand new, still sealed ModNation Racers Road Trip. The WiFi unit was going to cost me $265 through Amazon because of tax, so I'm feeling really good about my deal. The guy had indeed won it from Taco Bell and was looking to sell it so he could buy a tablet.
On a side note, the FEB case does stink but you guys way overplayed it. It does smell like an old house that someone has smoked in for 20 years, but you can't smell it unless you put your nose right up to it. It's not like you'll be carrying the thing around and everybody within 10 yards will be repulsed.

Call of Duty was announced @ the Playstation Meeting last January when the Vita (NGP then) was first announced. Which is why I found it quite odd people were just now talking about this as if it wasn't already confirmed.

True, but this is the first time (in that Geoff Keighley interview) that it was mentioned to be out this year. I should have clearified that only ment the release date/period of CoD Vita, not that the game itself is known to come.
What was announced there? I cant watch all of it now.

Is anyone else's Vita not going to sleep after 5 minutes of standby? I paused Hot Shots by going into its Live Area, then placed my Vita in my case for about an hour, and when I opened it up, the Vita hadn't gone into sleep mode. This is the first time it's happened though. Will try to test.

OK, 3G/Wifi launch bundle ordered!! First really spur-of-the-moment gaming purchase in a very long time (unless you count Steam sales).
Does PSVita still use/interface with MediaGo? I've got a PSPgo with current saves of Ys 7 and Phantasy Star IV (from the Sega Genesis Collection) and I'm wondering how I'd transfer them. If the software is available right now so that I can transfer the saves off of the PSPgo and have them ready to send to the Vita, I can go ahead and package up my PSPgo to sell or trade in to Amazon (even trading to Amazon I'd still get more than I paid for it). Just wondering what software the Vita uses - or can I just do save file transfers for PSP games via the PS3?

Damn this thing is going to suck my wallet dry. Much more impressed than I thought I would be... the thing is so "snappy." A true joy to experience. Got the first edition bundle and two games on Wednesday. Then I got stoked because PSP games look so much better on it, so I bought Lunar off the store since I haven't played it since the Sega CD (it is so easy to buy stuff off the store it's not even funny), and downloaded a couple others I used to have on my PSP (like DJ Max Portable 3). Lo and behold between that, the Super Stardust Delta download, and a couple videos, my puny 4GB card is almost full! So I said fuck it, and ordered a 32GB card off Amazon so I will hopefully never have this problem again, and "accidently on purpose" added Hot Shots into my cart as well because it seems like so many people are having fun with it.

Yes. The 32gb card was a great purchase from my perspective. As it was the most space I could get.
Apparently AC Vita and Bioshock Vita for this year as well.
Got these today in anticipation of the 22nd. If they look as good as that video I will be a happy bunny!

I understand. I still think that Bioshock is too early though. When it was announced at E3 last year, then they hadnt even begun developement as far as i know. Of course it is possible that they can use already made assets and there are afterall 10 months left of this year, but still. I think that the game wont be out before 2013.
There a lot of Minis are listed, so i guess those work? Pacman isnt on the list though.

Why is Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and The Warriors not on that list? I saw 2 pictures in this very thread of people playing VCS and Warriors on thier Vita.

Sorry if it's already been addressed but can you download Vita titles on your PS3 for storage like you. An for PSP games? I didn't see a Vita section on the PSN store.

Yes but once you transfer them they are removed from the ps3.
Apparently it works if you download the PSP games from the PS3 and put them on the Vita that way.

That kind of sucks. Is that the same for PSP software? Just remembered about the non mandatory PSN update: no wonder they werent appearing on the store.
Uh, the OS doesn't accept button inputs, so I don't think that was the problem. And the case wasn't moved.
Bioshock Vita won't be this year. When Ken Levine announced it at E3 last year, he said he hadn't started work on it yet and that it was just an idea he was toying around with. I'd wager we'll get it at the end of next year at the earliest.
Even if the OS is not acting on any inputs, their presence most likely still prevents the system from going to sleep.

Damn I just had a thought, Lara Croft and the Guardian of light might be great on Vita. I haven't played the full version yet but I think I would snatch it right up if it was ported.
I'm in Central FL as well. I wonder if you will show up on Near when I get mine Wednesday.
