PlayStation VR Thread 2: Reloaded

Dirt Rally VR is one of my favorite experiences, but goddamn is it tough. The courses show no mercy.

Yeah, I like racing games and I have never played a Rally game, because I don't understand anything about the driving or the lingo. I'm learning some of the lingo. The Driving is going slow till I learn the track and car and I gradually pick up speed.

i wasn't expecting that ending to static at all. i sort of gasped

polybius looks mind-exploding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VXsAiNdelk

Yep certainly wasn't the ending I was expecting! Great game and seems the team are open to a sequel too

A Virtual Orchestra experience is available in Europe. It's quite expensive as I suppose it must be very short.

DiRT Rally PS VR on the Pro is soooooooo much better than DriveClub, you can actually frigging see up head and plan properly. I'm learning the lingo about what a 6 or a 3 is I'm getting just need to get better with braking.

Thumper was a really good surprise. Is everything I like on that kind of game: the colors, the speed, the music.

Also got Driveclub VR and really like it. Is not as stunning visually as the main game, but at least close to the feel of arcade racers one can get.

I think it's called VR Karts: Sprint on mobile and it's a limited version on the full PC (and soon PS4) experience but yes, it's the same core.

Just spent about 30 minutes playing Polybius. It's amazing.

First things first - I've always been a big Llamasoft fan. TxK is my favorite, but I also loved almost all of their iOS games. Minter always seem to find a great balance of old school gameplay with insane visuals.

Polybius is cool at first - the speed, sights and sounds are exactly what you expect from a Llamasoft game.

Then I got deeper in the game and realized I was drooling lol.

Essentially, it's a Space Harrier style shooter, but mixed with Tempest (of course) style levels - tubes, half pipes, etc.

It's one of those games where, once you get in the zone, you forget WTF is even going on. You're just dialed in and clearing a path, but everything around you is going bat shit insane.

I haven't messed around with the options much - but I noticed it has a 2D mode, 4K/HDR support, and runs at 60fps. (120 in VR).

First run for me got me 16th on the leaderboards - can't wait to do another run and really learn more on the scoring. If you plan on playing this, add me to your friends list: Soupbones

I haven't been this excited about a VR game since the first batch of launch games. It's really that good!

Well got my preorder in while still discounted in the UK. Worth supporting Mr Minter for £11!

I'm still pissed off there was no preorder in North America.

Happy to support Llamasoft as always. I want Jeff to keep making games even if occasionally he makes one I don't enjoy.

Have you played it? That was my impression for the first half of the trailer, but the second half convinced me otherwise

(Haven't actually played it yet)

Not yet. I think I'm picking up Moonshot Galaxy this week instead. I still have more Korix to play and I haven't even started Volume, so I'm just in no hurry for Polybius. I also didn't really care too much for Hyper Void.

For what it's worth, the videos of this game do not do it justice at all. The game looks amazing - and seems to get better and better looking the deeper you get.

Polybius is amazing! Super fast, really fun (and funny, as Minter games are), and no motion sickness. Absolutely love it
Edit: messed up :)

I wish there were way less puzzle games coming out than there are. My least favorite genre after sports.

I would actually like to see more adventure games come out. Wayward Sky and Rhombus of Ruin both show that the adventure game genre is actually a pretty good fit for VR.

Got to play a bit more - pretty sure this will be my most played VR game for a long time!

Been focusing on Pure mode, since like TxK, seems like the legit mode for leaderboard battles since it only lets you start at level 1.

I was having an amazing run until I got to the level where it has giant flagpoles (like Rally-X style).

You can't seems to steer around them without taking a hit, and running into to them lets you pass through sometimes. Any one get to this part yet?

Edit: Nevermind. https://twitter.com/llamasoft_ox/status/862080264742293504

More than 207.000 players have played RE7 in VR, about 10% of the total userbase. As a reminder, those stats are only for those who choose to share their data at the beginning of the game.

I was playing the new update to Titans of Space on my GearVR and was wondering why is this not on PSVR. Probably my favorite VR "experience" so far. Not being able to move on the z axis, I felt made me more motion sick; a problem I would not have on PSVR. Sony is kind of slacking on non game stuff. Gear VR really beats PSVR in this realm. Hopefully at e3 we get Netflix, some sort of VR rooms for 2d gaming, and more stuff like Titans of Space.

polybius is one of my new favorites. as hectic as it looks in videos you sort of get into the triptastic zone and it just clicks and is relaxing

As someone who completed (looped) through all levels of Tempest2000 on Jaguar, let me tell you that Polybius is the real deal. The music, the gameplay, the visuals, everything is fantastic, and the VR brings it to the next level.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Llamasoft... VR... out now?

I bow to your abilities. I never passed the all pulsars level... Actually I think I may have a few times but game overed on the next level and it put me back to the level before to continue. Has it been that long? I played that game so much... Love Minter
