Fanstastic showing for PSVR this year. Much better than I anticipated.

  • Skyrim VR
  • The Inpatient
  • Moss
  • Transference
  • Bravo Team
  • Star Child
  • SPARC
  • DOOM VFR
  • SUPERHOT VR
  • Final Fantasy XV: Monster of the Deep
  • Raw Data
I'm looking at picking up at least half of those at launch.

Looks like I'll also be buying Skyrim for the 5th time. Damn that game just refuses to die. It's like GTA 5 incarnate.

I just can't believe Supermassive Games is working on 3 games, like I did not expect that!

I really appreciate that the VR segment wasn't just a throwaway segment, like throwing in some of the previously announced/not well known/didnt get a proper announcement title or those that were heavily hinted by developer. I was fully expecting a Raw Data trailer, maybe another Tiny Trax trailer, Fantastic Contraption, Archangel, Theseus and maybe Farpoint DLC trailer.

But damn, they announced those title we weren't expecting AT ALL.

The e3 thread in here was brutal during the PSVR section, which kind of killed my enthusiasm( of course I could have tuned out of the thread to avoid that). But I'm happy to see there's some good stuff coming out for PSVR. DOOM VR?! Skyrim? Until Dawn prequel!? SOLD!!!

How the heck are we going to move around in Skyrim with two moves?

Sony really screwed up by not launching with new motion controllers that have sticks on them.

Yeah if it's some shitty point n click teleportation system that'll be a deal breaker for me. Waiting for more details.

I always avoid all threads during conferences. It is usually "everything is shit" unless it is some sequel to a fan favourite and even then people will jump to conclusions without knowing anything like with Beyond Good and Evil 2.

I thought it was pretty good considering the announcements will be spread out over multiple shows. Would have liked to see more games announced doing what Bethesda has done with Skyrim VR though.

"Skyrim VR" and "The Inpatient" eased my disappointment for the lack of the allegedly soon to be announced SSM VR game and the FROM VR game. Maybe they weren't ready or are spreading the announcements throughout the year.

Whatever, as long as they are real I'm good ;)

But still, SSM leaker dude, don't just say "soon" when E3 is around the corner, mkay?

E3 and the several announcements/news we got this past weeks make me confident in the future of PSVR and Sony's involvement.

Next step: bring on that 50$ or even better 100$ price cut on the helmet by the end of the year and it'll be fine.

The trailer appeared to show free movement and turning but with 2 Moves?
I don't think I can stand teleportation for a 40 hour game.

I've never played the game, but would either of these work?

Implement head turning for direction and then...
Hold right [~] button to move in direction your facing.
Double tap right [~] button to sprint
Hold left [~] button to move backwards
Hold left & right [~] buttons together to creep
Hold left [X] button to sidestep left
Hold right [O] button to sidestep right.

That leaves 6 face buttons and 2 triggers free for action, maps, interactions, inventory etc.

Alternatively, again with head turning for direction, use the analogue triggers for forward and backward movement enabling you to control the speed. (Like using L2 and R2 in a driving game] That leaves 10 unused buttons for strafing and everything else.

Would work great on mobile, that cord is a problem for pure head-turning solutions though.

Completely forgot about this too. How did they manage to make that smooth avatar animation.

Skyrim, Moss, Bravo Team, SPARC, Doom, Supahot, Raw Data are easy buy.
Inpatient will depend on how scary it is, I will most likely dive in anyway.
No idea what type of game Star Child is but that ending robot looks really cool, will have to see more.
Final Fishing XV, this will be included in the season pass right? If so hooray.

Played through the first mission of Bridge Crew yesterday.

Man, this is BORING AS HELL. Everything is soooooooo slooooooowwwwwwwwwww.

Now I know the game is made for multiplayer but I still can't imagine it being that much more interesting.

Also fuck the Kelvin timeline.

So you got it after all? It's really meh if you play alone for sure.

Multiplayer is where it's at.

Also it is slightly not as slow for some of the missions. Also, depends on role you take.

Finally got the time to rewatch Moss trailer again.
Isn't this like the ultimate Robot Rescue people had been asking for?
This looks fantastic.

No, because it's not a platformer -- at the beginning when Quill looks in the water and sees the spirit, you're playing the spirit. You affect things in the environment while Quill moves. It's an adventure game -- from the developer site:

Your every action has meaning. Moss takes full advantage of today's virtual reality technology, letting you move objects, battle enemies, and manipulate the field of play as the key ally to our hero, Quill. Your abilities are complementary to Quill's in an alliance for the ages. Combine classic, action-adventure controls with a world that responds to your touch. Solve puzzles, combat evil, and achieve victory together.

It looks great, I want it ... but we still need a platformer as polished as robot rescue for PSVR

Not sure about that. Somebody on the reddit who claims to have played it says you control both the Orb with the touch pad and the mouse with the regular controls.

Hmm, yea this is the statement
I've played an early build (a friend of mine is one of the devs). You control the orb, which interacts with the environment using the motion tracking of the PS4 controller, but also the mouse, using the standard controls on the controller. It takes a minute to get used to, but works really well.

I'm just quoting from the developer's web site that says you control Quill's ally -- not Quill. I haven't played it, I'm just going by what the guy's that made it are saying:

https://www.polyarcgames.com/moss/

Sony will have the game on their live feed tonight at 8PM ET ... so, we'll know then.

Anyway, that's not really the point -- the game looks great, but its an action adventure, not a platformer/collect-a-thon ... that was my real point lol

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
There is no VR game on sale right now, right?

Well, that sounds like Wayward Sky, which was good, so I'll keep an open mind.

I really liked what they showed last night, but I was really hoping we would get a slight price drop.

I just cant justify the 400+ dollars right now. But damn I want one bad.

Do purchase a PSVR or not too...Skyrim is really pushing me to jump on.

One of us, one of us, one of us!

Just in case you weren't aware of other games that were announced,
Superhot, Raw Data, SPARC, Doom VFR, Bravo Team, The Inpatient.

Edit : MOSS is definitely one of the highlight too :)

Not to mention Arizona Sunshine is coming in a few weeks and the recent launch of Aim controller. There's so much catching up to do.

I'm sure that there will be some discount or sale, I remember reading selected countries are having a sale for it recently.

Missing game of the show Moss, for shame.

If it's $30, I'm all in. $40 maybe. It's just hard for me to go back to something I put more than 100 hours into six years ago.

But it's in VR. With VR hands!

Imagine swinging that sword, blocking with that shield, firing that arrow. All mapped one to one with your hands.
