PlayStation VR Thread 2: Reloaded

Fruit Ninja VR became an instant family hit here today, everyone wanted a go and liked it a lot. Even my wife who normally quickly doesn't feel well even in extremely mild VR games. Glad it's finally been on sale.
Was Fruit Ninja on sale? It looks to be full price for me ($20), but I was away on vacation last week with no internet access.

Also it was updated to let you turn the goddamned screams off.
That was without kidding the number one thing that kept me from buying it last time when it was on sale for a tenner. O_O

Didn't know they listened to the critics. Or maybe they didn't but they just listened to the screams often enough themselves... XD

I would say go for it. It's totally worth it if you want a VR game with actual gameplay IMO.

Yeah, Mortal Blitz is really good. The gameplay is so much fun. It is one of the best games on PSVR for sure. Dodging bullets and shooting enemies in their crouches never gets old. ; )

Can anyone please tell me good games for VR ? I just bought it and I don't want to be rush about it

These are the games I have enjoyed the most so far:

Dirt Rally VR
Driveclub
Eve: Valkyrie
Bound
Battlezone
Windlands
Batman VR (short)
Fated: The Silent Oath (short)
Psyconauts in the Rhombus of Ruin (short)
Eagle Flight
Thumper

I also recommend Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, RE7, and RIGS. Tumble is decent as well but got bored very quickly with it. When I get done with the games I'm playing at the moment I'm going to pick up I Expect You to Die, Robinson: The Journey and Mortal Blitz, maybe Starblood Arena as well.

moving up the superhypercube leaderboards. now i'm 2199 in all the land. still bad, but this game proves simple can be best. not to mention it has one of the coolest graphic and sound styles in a game. i can't recommend it enough

Yup it grabbed me as one of my first VR games too. Couple gripes with that game though.

#1 I wish the game would remember my settings. The first thing I do is turn bloom and brightness down and turn off controller tracking - and it never remembers that.

#2 It would be great if they added another mode or two beyond the basic game such as a practise mode that lets you start at the levels you already beat with a random cube shape. Right now I feel like I will never get to play beyond level 4 as long as I live. The difficulty ramps up so fast.

Still right up there as one of my favourite experiences though.

Totally YMMV, but Target in San Jose was clearing out Until Dawn: Rush of Blood ($5.98), Loading Human ($19.98) and Werewolves Within ($8.98). You might want to check to see if they're doing the same in your area. Target clearances vary from store to store so again, YMMV.

I just picked up Werewolves within for $15 on clearance last week at target. They also had Loading Human for $20. Everyone check the bargain bin if your interested.

A fellow New Hampshire-ite? Small world. :)

I'm very tempted to bite on Gunjack for $4. I really wish we had gotten the same sale as Europe did though, I'd have bought Fruit Ninja at its sale price.

DAMN that is a good deal. Here in germany it was €99 for a while and now it has been "currently not available" for 2 weeks or something. :(

Yeah at that price it'd be a no-brainer, probably gonna buy it in autumn as I doubt I'll often touch PSVR when the temps start to rise outside.

oh man. so, in the course of like three days I just downloaded all the psvr-only games i had been waiting to get:

Job Simulator
Tethered
Windlands
SUPERHYPERCUBE
Tumble VR
Headmaster
Eagle Flight
Holoball
Starblood Arena

so so happy to add these to my previous collection of:
RE7
Rez Infinite
Bound
Volume
Thumper
Trackmania Turbo
Worlds VR (disk)
Batman VR (disk)
Rush of Blood (disk)

i feel complete

This is disappointing:

But let’s get this out of the way; those looking for a solid single-player VR shooter in Starblood will come away disappointed. The game’s Burn Circuit mode barely passes for a campaign, offering a handful of missions — identical for each of its nine characters — that introduce you to three of the four modes you’ll encounter online on the exact same maps. WhiteMoon should be applauded for letting you play all of the game’s modes with some pretty challenging bot A.I., but this is still a multiplayer-only affair.

I am assuming there's no mode where you can pick a map and play against bots.

...?

It is exactly what I expected when they first announced it. Some people may even be extatic about another multiplayer game, me not so much. But more power to them.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
I just got words about an unannounced title coming to PSVR couple of months later. Its a casual local/online multiplayer title that features several mini games.

They say theres a series of bespoke challenges but that's different from being able to completely set up a bot match to your specifications. Like can I choose any character on any map in any mode?

I really fail to see where "letting you play all of the game's modes with some pretty challenging bot A.I." is ambigous.
OK, Planet. I don't know if you're misunderstanding me or you just don't care but clearly you're not able to answer my question. I'll wait until someone gets the game and ask them.

Checkout PushSquare's impression. Basically describing the game is nothing special, too similar to other cockpit shooter VR and unlike Rigs which had a meaty SP to enjoy, Starblood SP is pretty disappointing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0zMHsnNnTw

I'm still waiting for more impression and since PushSquare went into this game with a pretty bad impression to begin with, I wouldn't take his review too seriously.

Thanks but oof. If the SP in this is slimmer than Rigs I will probably just return it. The seasons in Rigs were cool but I would have also liked a single event mode (being able to pick the mode and the map and the difficulty like most games with bots.) That's what I was hoping for here too.

Here's a direct quote from the developer if it helps. I'm still skeptical though, I have $50 loaded in my PSN waiting for more impression.
"Starblood has single player content but not a "Campaign". Single player consist of Skirmishes (private matches vs. AI bots), Invaders (horde mode. Can also be played co-op with up to 4 players) and Burn Circuit - a Tournament where players play matches vs. AI bots and must finish 1st to advance. Matches get progressively more difficult and if you manage to win the whole tournament, you get cool stuff and unlock Ultimate Burn Circuit. Ultimate Burn Circuit is ridiculously tough, but winning that tournament unlocks even cooler stuff. Hope this helps :)"
