The music in this one is incredible.

I love the hints of the opening theme in the regular trainer battle.

Then when you knock a gym leader down to their last Pokémon and it kicks into the main Pokémon theme as you finish the fight. So damn epic.

Starters can be bred. So you can find a lot of them on the GTS, as others have said.

No, you just trade with other people over the GTS (Global Trade System). You can specify what you're looking for and do a search.

It's personal preference. There really isn't a wrong choice. You pick who you think is cool.

I don't know how I feel about the fact that they REALLY try and make sure that you don't get lost. You can't enter a new city or exit a gym without a character immediately approaching you or someone calling you. All the key items are basically given to you in a linear path as well, such as the bike. They did this in HGSS as well (not including the bike thing).

It doesn't really matter. There are tons of viable Pokemon now, so the starters aren't really as key as the used to be. Pick whatever you want. You can find good Water/Fire/Grass Pokemon early on to make up any gaps that used to exist in the early game.

Well, as you've got the bike, you're already far enough to take a slight detour and head for Desert Resort and Relic Castle. Explore Route 4 to find it.

You can't really train the hidden stats effectively until you've beaten the main story anyway, so don't worry about it one bit. I'm having tons of fun with the main story.

just curious, but out of the stuff available on the GTS, how much of it is hacked? (I am assuming the game can be hacked) Is there a downside to any of it. Has anyone had a trade from the GTS completely trash their game?

Just played through getting my starter last night (Tepig) and beating my two rivals. Still trying to get through Layton before I start on this in earnest. Nice visual bump from G4. If I understand correctly it uses the same G4 engine, just changes the view port a bit.

On many occasions I've run into a spot where it would have been nice to have a fire Pokemon, as I traded away my Simisear. To bad you don't see Heatmor until late in the game, as I would totally use him.

It seems Tepig is very underutilized in comparison to the other 2 starters.

And because of that, a damn was given that day.
