You know I kind of like how blind we're going into X and Y so far. No more months of knowing everything before getting our hands on the game. We'll get to discover stuff just as Japan is :)

I think Game Freak finally realized, or at least already realized and is now making concessions to, that Pokemon is more about customizing the team you want, rather than any kind of involved single player RPG. So limiting players' TM uses and evolutionary options is kind of obsolete. And I hope it continues, rather than succumbing to the tradition of inexplicably removing/ replacing interesting features every generation.

Yeah, at most, any limitations they would willingly include should be removed after the post-game.

Yeah, a lot of people miss the point of that, that Pokemon generally is a socially competitive game.

That's why I roll my eyes when people tout "hurr Ni no Kuni is teh evolution!"

Yes I hated how hard it was to get certiant items tied to evolution in Soul Silver since you had to grind at the Pokeathalon to get them rather then being able to buy them outright.

Now if they would only fix the casino options. I absolutely hated how they gutted them down for the west.

They should just get rid of casinos. They're the worst part of any video game.

Voltorb Flip is better than all the Game Corner games up until that point. More fun logic games, please.
Though the luck factor is sorta :p

Even without investment and a negative nature, Life Orb Drought Fire Blast after SR can still OHKO two of Gyarados's most common switch-ins - Skarmory & Ferrothorn. Gimmicky, but that can easily help Gyarados get a Moxie Boost.

Only bad thing is Sun decreases Waterfall's power, but I find Return an acceptable replacement as a +1 Life Orb Return can seriously maim Rotom-W, another common switch-in. Earthquake rounds up coverage, and is useful for Tyranitar and Jirachi.

Wouldn't Waterfall be better for Tyranitar? He's gonna switch the weather anyway.

Aha, I never thought about that! But still, main reason I was against Waterfall is that its STAB was decreased unless the opponent had a weather changer themselves, making it unreliable as well.

Although in theory, Waterfall + Return + Fire Blast would be walled too easily by Jellicant. Waterfall + Earthquake + Fire Blast would be set-up bait for Dragon Dancers.

At least with the Game corner prior to that you could outright buy the coins you needed if you had enough money and skip the gambling factor all together.

Technician is for pure offense. Low Sweep or Force Palm or Mach Punch/Bullet Seed/Sword Dance/Spore
