A collection of mostly boring and pointless side stories that are pretty much irrelevant to the main story.
No problems there.
The worst part is that it has Ritchie and out of All of Ash's rivals I hate Ritchie the most.
Trip is a close second because of his arrogance but Ritchie was a little too perfect for his own good.
Richie is an perfect ash clone without the looks.

I'm gonna watch a few episodes and see how it is.
But the Moltres ep is awesome, even I'm in that episode.
The best Moltres episode is the one where James dresses up as one.
Well Articuno is literally number 1 so that's as good as reason as any to like it better. Plus it had a way better battle in the anime.

Get BW2. I've played them and they're the best games in the series in my opinion.
Yeah, getting Black/White 2 is like getting a third version but even better. No real point in getting Black/White first since it's just around the corner and most likely going to be the better versions.

Platinum is the best game in the series. HeartGold/SoulSilver are solid remakes that improve on their originals quite a bit. Black/White is a streamlined experience that would serve as a great reintroduction to the series.
Take your pick, can't really go wrong with any of them.
