For starters, the Pokédex would be more feature rich, recording movesets and evolutionary methods for obtained Pokémon(I'm a little disappointed this hasn't happened yet).

Chatot and the glorious music are the only saving graces of Diamond/Pearl.

Ironically (not really) my favourite gen (5th gen) has in my opinion the worst music in the series.

Gen 5 had lots of great music. As much as Gen 4? Probably not, but no other RPG can beat HGSS's rocking soundtrack. That's just the way life is.

Best music in a videogame since Super Mario Galaxy, for my money. Punching well above Pokemon's already lofty standards of music.

I really like gen 3, but I find it hard to disagree. The only music I can really remember off the top of my head is the Slateport City theme, which, to be fair, was pretty catchy.

Concerning the bike music: GSC is the most memorable one (it's my ringtone on my phone and on Skype haha), but damn, RBY.. I'm almost crying just listening to it. My childhood right there.

we talked a bit about hgss vs gsc and gsc was considered better. in fact, most gsc songs are better than their hgss counterparts.

i dunno, it's weird. i prefer the frlg arrangements over the rby arrangements, yet i prefer a lot of the gsc arrangements over the hgss arrangements. not that they are bad, mind you.

edit: also billychu from the grave agrees re: gsc/hgss

I actually love the HGSS OST, even though GSC would go at the bottom for me. Hearing this game just caused something to click inside my brain and make me go "so that's what they were going for. It's good!"

I'm a real sucker for these types of songs.

Gen 5 is fresh in my mind so that's where most songs I think about lately come from. My second most favorite is Opelucid White (and again Wiseblade messes up by favoring that hideous Black version)

Can't say which gen I like most though for music. Wasn't a big fan of the trumpets in gen 3 (but that's more because I don't like the instrument), but it also had some good songs.
