Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Me and my girlfriend took a walk through town tonight with Go all ready and almost everybody out down the river path had the app out too. Lots of people were gathered by 3 stops bunched together with lures just running around the area trying to catch everything. This games got great appeal.

I have a park right next to my house. There was a mini dance party going on at the park with a band so I walked around with the music in the background. I might need to to buy some rat poisoning, cause the little shits won't leave me alone.

Rattatas and pidgeys are ridiculously common in most places. I've caught at least 15-20 each. I have hardly any uncommon ones unfortunately although I did find an exeggucutor earlier.

The game is still in a barebones and buggy state. Guaranteed that Niantic and TPC are working on buttloads of new features and content while also ironing out the bugs. I anticipate things like player battles, trading, special event Pokémon, and of course Johto Pokémon in the future. This app is gonna get big. Oh and it didn't even launch in most places yet.

In my neighborhood I did a nice 45 minute walk and only ran across 3 pokemanz. So I guess it depends on where you are.

...I need a pedometer mode. Its entirely too hot to be out strolling around now. And there is a heat wave. At least let me raise eggs if no pokemon will come to my house
 
I live a mile from the beach and about 1/4 mile from the back of the main boat harbor. My house has tons of Magikarp. At this rate I might actually get that 400 Magikarp candy.

Also caught a level 400 Vaporeon right on my living room couch at level 7!

I hope the servers improve.

I'd have the app open when I'm driving and the only time any progress was made was maybe around 5-10 MPH. Didn't seem to make progress going faster than that
 
This thing is live a virus that spreads FAST. Me and my one coworker tonight were talking about it and this made the other two coworkers download it and try it themselves, leading to all of us walking to the nearest pokestop after work, then walking around to try and catch a pokemon we all saw. This thing is so oddly fun and addicting.

pretty sweet. Got Staryu too and saw a Tangela that ran away. :[

Servers were stable for me out there as I did my loop a few times and it was pretty awesome :X I didn't find the exact limit, but I can confirm going as close to 8.0mph as possible on a bike does count, will try pushing it higher next time.

Guys. How does incense work? I popped one just now expecting all the nearby Pokemon to start rushing me. Nope. Tauros continues to be a dick.
 
Yesterday I had stepped outside and spotted a guy staring at his phone with his two little little kids following him around asking if he'd found a pokemon.

I wish you could do live battles with people nearby for experience.
 
Finally found a Gastly. Downtown near city hall.

Team Instinct is taking over my town and I'm the only one on Valor here. Time for guerilla warfare.
 
So I really want to play more because I've missed out on several catching joy rides with friends waiting for the PTC to come back up... I've been contemplating switching to Google, but the only problem is my starter Squirtle was a shiny... Not sure if I want to give that up, but if PTC doesn't get sorted soon, this weekend is going to be insufferable being the only one in our group who can't play. Ugh.

Yeah, they have little red stars by their names so you can be sure they're shiny, since some are just SLIGHTLY off colored. If I could GET INTO THE GAME I'd screen grab for you. I've seen a few shots of other shinies on the Internet, like a Pinsir and a Weedle.

Man this 1hp gym glitch is killing me here. Seriously takes away from the experience. Reddit saying maybe you can take it out with poison by starting with a non poison mon, then switching to a poison mon before the enemy reaches 1 hp. Going to try that next time I hit a gym.

I was level 9 when I evolved mine. I went from level 4 to level 9 on my walk all from catching/transferring/evolving pokemon. All those pidgey candies helped to create my army of Pidgeots and gave me enough XP to get to level 9.

Awesome, now a Seel randomly appeared at my place. This game is eerily good at that slow drip of letting new Pokemon wander by. I wonder if the randoms become more varied after you reach Level 5?
 
Saw no fewer than 200 people playing this game while walking around Ohio State's campus. It's insane. Groups of people hanging around lures, people scouting for a pack of Vulpix, people continuously challenging gyms...

No idea how long this will last, but right now it's NUTS.
