Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that it's a complete missed opportunity to have the option of using your My Nintendo account to log in (alongside the option of using your google account). They could've got so many new registered users for My Nintendo.

Sure most will use their google account regardless, but it doesn't hurt having the option there. Nintendo wanted to get 100 million registered users; having it as an option on Pokemon Go would've helped them get there.

I've been wondering this too, how is it determined where the stops are?

There's large stretches of my town with none, and a stretch of a few blocks with twenty-something. Seems totally random.

Yeah. I'd like to make a few since there are a lot of places where it is completely barren and some places I go to where it is super crowded

Can't find it and now it disappeared

Went back to where it previously had three's footprints and still nothing

Think I'm out of range or he gone?
He bolted. There is a time limit so if it's something you really want, haul ass until you see those footprints decrease

Just got my BF into it and he doesn't even know anything about Pokémon or videogames. We just walked around my neighborhood catching Pokémon and a guy on a bike came up next to us asking us if we were able to catch the growlithe nearby lol. This is so fun

Absolutely loving this game. Has been really fun going around to gyms in the neighborhood and making sure they stay Yellow.

Does anyone know if areas get randomly populated on a time basis? Like maybe my block isnt busy today but tomorrow it will be? Or is it mostly based on pokestops? Of course, lures play a role but I don't want to include that.

Oh and highlights today were catching dodrio, grimer, clefairy and a ghastly!

Anyone have any idea how far three footsteps could possibly be? I mean cook three footprints mean several blocks away?

By the way, it was pretty damn funny to step outside of my place and see swarms of people trying to find the same term and by the way, it was pretty damn funny to step outside of my place and see swarms of people trying to find the same Charmander

Has anyone got anything to pop out from the grass flying around?

After standing on top of it for a few minutes, I left... Nothing happened.

Holy crap this game blew up. I still expect it to die in a week or two though. The game just isn't that complex.

As for the grass, I noticed there were more of them on parks. I tend to catch more pokemon in parks, so...

Given the popularity, there is no way in hell they are not going to add tons of content and depth

Too much potential money to be made, and and the game is currently missing some very basic features. You can't even add friends right now

Had the gps tracking glitch out a couple times while at work today. It kept thinking I was near some pond, so I got to catch a magikarp and goldeen while that was happening lol. Also there seem to be a lot of Magmar near my work.

It sometimes takes a bit to trigger with different people. Was out earlier with a few friends and when we went by one, a friend got a pokemon to pop up, but me and the rest didn't get it till a few steps later.

Probably just walk around it a bit until it triggers or reset the game

This game recognized individual paintings and sculptures on my campus as Poke Spots. This is nuts.

On a side note, can someone give me a rundown on how gyms work? What's the difference between the battle icon on the bottom left and the one on the bottom right? Also, is there more to battles than me just tapping the enemy?

So apparently the whole thing work like this.
The flying grass doesn't do anything, it is an indicator for what direction you should walk.
Let say on your nearby pokemon indicator show that there is a horsea with 1 foot print. Try to look for the flying grass that near you and walk that direction. 9/10 time, that's the right direction. Now the problem is that if you have multiple pokemon all have 1 foot peint on it. Choose that pokemon, and try walking toward a random flying grass, if its the right one the indicator on bottom of the screen will flashing.
That's all I gather after walking around to find the Squirtle in my neighborhood.

Bottom left lets you assign a pokemon of your own to the gym to protect it (only if you're on the same team). The right one is to choose a pokemon to use to fight/train

For battles: you tap to build meter and once you get enough you hold it to use the second move your pokemon has. Also you can swipe left and right to dodge attacks but its delayed by tapping to attack. Its best to try and dodge the special attack of the enemy as it usually does alot more damage than normal attacks

Holy fk. That lure is a freaking gold mine.

Incense fucking suck, especially give them their assigned value according to the shop

One shitty Pokémon will show up about every five minutes, if I'm lucky

I'm 100x better off taking a 2 min walk

Wished I know this sooner. I was looking for a scythe that was 2 footstep away from my house this afternoon but couldnt find him.

Heres me and my daughters haul for the day

No Snorelax but I did get a Dratini, only problem is that getting best Pokemon (Dragonite) is going to take forever.

one good tip I saw is when trying to get a gym put 3-4 crap pokemon first that you are gonna transfer, they'll do some decent damage before you send in your 2-3 higher lvls, plus you won't have to use potions on those since you're getting rid of them. Also when your pokemon's special bar fills you can hold down on the to do their special move. Other than that is is just tapping the enemy and trying to dodge.

Eh it's nice when you want to sit on your ass and have something happen (Like I'm doing now)

Do people really have an issue with running low on potions? I've literally had a trash about 200 in the last day or so to make room in my bag

Today was my birthday so a friend and I went to the park to catch Pokemon, it's a weird thing to say out loud. This game is cool, i hope they don't let it die.. a half decent stream of content and updates would get me to spend $. We saw about a dozen other people playing in our travels, only level 4 so no gyms. Honestly even if this dies next week this was a great memory it provided, I'll at least have that.

Walking home through the park just now, and found a guy on a bike catching Pokemon as well. He was like "I'm just trying to get home but I can't stop catching them!" POKEMON SOLIDARITY IS BEST SOLIDARITY

So is the AR wonky for anyone else?

I wanna take cool pics, but the pokemon just seem to float and rotate around aimlessly without any sense of up, down, floor, air, etc.

Any way to fix this?

Just driving home from work, and upon entering my street I see two teenagers dart across the road from the park I live next to. I have never seen anyone in my neighborhood out this late. Y'all crazy... But I think I'm gonna have to download this app... And I don't even play Pokemon...

Might call it a night, nothing but dumpster teir pokemon. Anytime something semi-decent comes up its not close enough to appear in the house. Park run tomorrow I guess.
